Isaiah 35:1-10 Be It Topic: 45. Blessings. 2006. 1. 8.

Introduction

: Presents a vision of a bright and hopeful theme (the glorious future of Zion to come) of “the restoration and redemption of Zion”

It is a fact that Zion's glorious future cannot be conceived apart from the coming Messiah.

One). You will see the glory of God (1~2)

2). You will be comforted (3 4)

3). Healed (5-7)

4). Will come to Zion (8-10)

1. The people of Zion will see the glory of God (1~2)

Into the darkness of despair and pain, it is a message of a new recovery. (New life, beauty, joy, and song are Zion's

As a result, all things will profane the glory of God.

1) “The dry land of the wilderness rejoices; the desert rejoices in bloom like the lilies” (1)

① “The wilderness and the parched land rejoice” On the day when Zion is newly restored, there will be joy in it.

This is a grace in contrast to the land of Edom, the enemy on the other side, which is judged by God and becomes a wasteland.

(34:9-15)

② “The desert blooms and rejoices like the lilies”

“Desert” To the wild barren land of the Jordan Valley, even this desert will be transformed into a land of joy as the beautiful lilies sing on a warm spring day.

2). “Blooming and rejoicing with joyful songs, the glory of Lebanon and the beauty of Carmel and Sharon.”

On the day when Zion is restored anew, its “beauty” will be enjoyed again. (See 33:9)

3). “They shall see the glory of the LORD, the beauty of our God”

“They” is a personal pronoun, meaning “the people of Zion.”

Following the recovery of nature, it is the recovery of humans. The people of Zion were blessed with the wonderful grace of God that He worked for the land.

You will witness and realize the “beauty of God” anew.

(Psalm 8:1, 91:1-4, 104:24, Romans 1:20, Revelation 4:11)
