Before you / Mark 16:1-7

1 When the sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome went and bought spices to anoint Jesus, 2 and went to the tomb very early on the first day after the sabbath at sunrise. 4 And when he looked up, he looked up and saw that the stone had already been rolled, and it was very large. 5 When he went into the tomb and saw a young man in a white robe sitting on the right hand, he was astonished. 6 The young man said, "Do not be surprised; You are looking for him, and he has risen, and it is not posted here. Behold, the place where he was put. 7 Go and say to his disciples and Peter, “Jesus is going before you into Galilee, and you will see him there, as he told you before.”

Thank you to the drama team for preparing the drama well for Easter. And a big thank you to the worship and praise team who prepared the cantata.

Today's sermon is short, so let's take a brief look at each verse.

Verse 1: “After the sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome went and bought spices to anoint Jesus, and they were kept.”

Interpretation - The women mentioned here were firsthand witnesses to the Lord's death and burial. They bought spices after the Sabbath and at the beginning of commerce. And in Luke 23:56, it is recorded that he purchased spices before the Sabbath after witnessing the burial of Jesus. They were so eager to buy spices for Jesus twice. Meanwhile, the perfume they bought - aromata - is an oil-like liquid used to prevent the rotting smell of corpses. However, according to Jewish rites, touching a corpse was considered unclean, and it was not common to apply perfume after the funeral was over. Nevertheless, one can imagine how devoted and fervent the faith of these women was.

Application Those who have an ardent faith in longing for the Lord became the first witnesses of the Lord's resurrection.

Do we have the same zeal? Those who have this kind of faith will experience the miracles of the Lord.

Verses 3-4 “They said to one another, “Who will roll a stone for us from the door of the tomb?” 4 When he looked up, the stone was already rolled, and it was very large.”

Interpretation - Perhaps these women did not know that they had sealed the stone and had Roman soldiers guard this tomb. So, we can see that the badge of the guards on this tomb and the sealing because it was not enough came from the elaborate plan of the disciples at the time. Usually the installed stone was placed in a sloping passageway and had to be lifted up or pushed out of the groove in which it was placed to lift it. This was impossible for women.

But these things could not prevent the resurrection of our Lord. Neither the power of the priests nor death can stop them. Resurrection has such super ultra capchon power.

Application - We are fragile. But when we have this resurrection faith, no one and nothing can stop us. Resurrection faith only fears God and fears no one but God. You can be brave even in the face of death. This is the resurrection faith. what are you afraid of?

Verse 6 “The young man said to him, “Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen, and he is not here. Behold, this is the place where you put him.”

Interpretation - This verse tells us that the Resurrection is a historical fact. The resurrection of the Lord is a historical event. It's not a show. It's not a scam. There are testimonies from those who have witnessed it vividly. The driving force behind the power of the Early Church, which fervently evangelized and preached the gospel in the early days, is because they directly witnessed the resurrected Lord. At the heart of their message is their testimony that the Lord has risen.

In 1 Corinthians 15:308, we find a list of those who witnessed the resurrection of Jesus. He appeared to "Cephas, the 12 disciples, over 500 brothers, James, all the apostles, and Paul." They testified that they saw the risen Lord because they saw it.

Application - Resurrection is not a doctrine. Resurrection is not an idea. The resurrection is not even a legend. The Lord's resurrection is a historical fact. So you have to believe

Verse 7 “Go and say to his disciples and Peter, ‘Jesus is going before you into Galilee, and there you will see him, as he told you before.’”

Interpretation - Why did the Lord go to Galilee? We can just meet in Jerusalem. Galilee is more than 160 km from Jerusalem. The reason is that, first of all, most of the disciples are from Galilee, and the stage where they worked mainly is Galilee. So the place where I first met them was in Galilee. What were they thinking as they walked 160km to meet the Lord? Of course, he must have remembered the first time he met the Lord, and he must have remembered the three years of ministry that he spent crying and laughing with the Lord. He must have remembered healing the sick, raising the dead, and controversies with the Pharisees and the miraculous field of Bethsaida. As they progressed, they must have felt that the Lord really was the Son of God. At the time, these were things I didn't know and passed on, but now that I think about them one by one, I would have realized that he was truly the Son of God.

Application - Have You Met the Lord? So do you remember that time? How do you compare now and then? Do you have a hardened heart? Already wrapped in thick dead skin on the tender flesh of faith, do you feel nothing when you look at the cross? Has that fervent determination to follow the Lord have already changed and turned into a cold-hearted faith?

Go back to where you first met the Lord! The Lord is there.

Beloved young people, possess the faith of the resurrection!

love from you

not returned with love

even my stupidity

In front of you who covered you with love

flowing through a lifetime

the river of tears

This is my prayer to you.

In the deep and silent cave of the heart

Countless icicles of frozen despair

Breaking it with the sword of hope

waking up easter morning

Today, like an angel in white, I

bleached with tears of remorse

put on new clothes

May the resurrected You be met.

With love as hot as Mary Magdalene,

I don't even have a beautiful perfume

stupid me

The flower of salvation bloomed throughout the universe

to honor you

With the swiftest steps of joy

let me run

With the humble heart of Simon Peter

I come to you too

Hearing the sound of water roaring in your chest

I want to confess this.

"As you know

I love the Lord."

but love is still

like a floating cloud

Forgive me that there are not many times when I wander

with a new heart

the new world

that it is truly beautiful

Lord made known

Today I hear the bells of heaven

Let me remember you once again

Confess your love with tears of penance

The new days are the days that overcome death

always of dazzling joy

that the Easter festival
