John 10:34-39 Believe the work Topic: 20. Faith. 2008. 1. 13.
◎ Introduction:
※ Jesus Christ is the Great Shepherd because he is the Son of God. Look at his argument.
1. Jesus Christ is the Son of God (34-36)
2. The Father and the Son are in each other. (37-39)
1. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. (34-36)
※ Those who reject the claim that “I am the Son of God” take stones in their hands and try to kill them.
One). Jesus was unwavering in their actions, but rather showed their contradictions.
※ “God” They mentioned their history of calling rulers or judges “gods”.
* Their ancestors used the word “god” to denote that judges were God-appointed rulers as God's representatives among men. (Ex 22:28, Psalm 82:6)
※ Jesus asked, if the rulers of Israel were called “gods,” why should they be accused of blasphemy for claiming to be the Son of God?
2). The important thing is that Jesus is distinct from all others who call him “god.”
※ Jesus asserts himself
① Sanctified by the Father (sanctify, 1 Peter 1:15~16)
② The one sent by the Father into the world (John 3:34)
③ Son of God (John 1:1~2, 34)
※ Jesus was the Son of God who was sanctified and sent by God.
※ The judges accepted that they were “gods” as human beings, but Jesus was the Son of God. But how can they be called blasphemous?
(John 3:16, compare 17-18, John 9:35-37, John 11:25-27)
2. The Father and the Son are in each other. (37-39)
One). Things you need to know
※ God is in Jesus, and Jesus is in God. (John 14:10)
* Jesus is one with God, and God is one with Jesus.
※ God and Jesus ① have one heart and one spirit,
② Being and nature are one,
③ Purpose and work are one.
“In him dwelleth all the fullness of the divinity bodily” (Colossians 2:9)
※ Knowing and believing this truth is absolutely essential for human beings.
※ Jesus speaks earnestly to unbelievers.
“If I do, believe the work, even if you do not believe me, and you will see that the Father is in me.
Know that I am in the Father” (38)
2). What Jesus Will Do
※ It proves that God dwells in Jesus and that Jesus dwells in God. But they refused.
“I and the Father are one” (John 10:30)
“Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I tell you do not speak on my own, but the Father is in me, doing his work” (John 14:10).
“I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to the Father. Holy Father, preserve them in your name, which you have given me, so that they may become one as we are” (John 17:11).
“I have given them the glory that you have given me, so that they may be one, just as we are one.
Ham” (John 17:22)
