Title Blessed Rainy Rain / Ezekiel 34:25-31
Many places suffer from flooding due to the rainy season that lasts for several days. Landslides occur everywhere, farmland and houses are flooded, roads are submerged, traffic control is severe due to landslides, etc., and damage is being caused by flooding of rivers. In particular, southern regions such as Busan and Gyeongnam suffered the worst water crisis.
In particular, at around 7:45 am on the 10th, a landslide occurred at the Gomnaejae cut-off site in Daleumsan Mountain, Daleumsan, Jeonggwan-myeon, Gijang-gun, Busan.
In addition, a landslide in Yangsan caused damage such as three members of a family not knowing whether they were alive or dead.
Although the Disaster Response Headquarters is carrying out emergency recovery in flood-damaged areas, the scale of damage caused by this heavy rain is expected to increase.
Despite the torrential downpours expected every year, our reality is that human resources are more severe than natural disasters.
The rainy season generally refers to the weather in which rain or cloudy weather continues for a long time while staying in Korea in summer.
The rainy season in Korea is when the warm air from the south and the cold air from the north meet and stay, creating many rain clouds and raining continuously. But now, the torrential rains after the rainy season are even worse, and this is also called a guerrilla castle, so an unimaginable amount of rain falls in a specific area.
The rainy season has the adverse function of inflicting such enormous damage.
However, without the rainy season, fresh water from dams is not possible, drinking water is not available, and there is no farming and no electricity. The rainy season has a serious adverse function, but it has a positive function that brings many benefits to our lives.
During the rainy season, furniture and air conditioners become damp and moldy, and it is easy to create a dark atmosphere in the house. Therefore, it is necessary to make good use of rainy season supplies such as moisture-proof, deodorizing, and insect repellent.
So, the rainy season requires wisdom to manage well. Measures must be taken to minimize the damage, and through thorough preparation, the cost necessary to obtain the benefits of the rainy season must be minimized to make it truly a blessed rainy season.
Now, there are typhoons that bring heavy rain from the south of the tropics, so we must do our best to prevent various damages such as floods, tsunamis, and landslides.
In today's text of the Bible, verse 25 says that it is the 'covenant of peace' that God established with His people.
It is the rainy season when the covenant of peace established by God is blessed.
Like the blessed rainy season, all elements that cause harm to humans will be removed and just as drinking water and agricultural and industrial water become water, I hope that all things happening in our world today will be blessed and receive God's covenant as a gracious means.
1. Stop the evil beast.
(Ezekiel 34:25,26)
And I will make a covenant of peace with them, and I will put an end to the evil beasts in the land, and they shall dwell in peace in the wilderness, and sleep in the midst of the bush. And they will know that I am the LORD, after I have broken their yokes and delivered them from the hand of those who made them slaves.
It is said that when he puts an end to the evil beast, he dwells in peace in the wilderness and sleeps in the bushes.
There are many deserts in the land of Israel. It is surrounded by the Negev Desert, Moab Wilderness, Edom Wilderness, Sin Wilderness, and Arabah Wilderness.
The desert is a place of discomfort and danger to humans. There are wild animals such as lions, foxes, jackals, and sirangs, so the danger is great.
In the bush there are bears, snakes, etc.
But God put an end to those evil beasts, and people will live in peace in the wilderness and sleep in the bushes.
Oh look at what is happening around us.
Disasters do not stop, like a dangerous rainy season, and there are dangers of diseases and accidents, like evil beasts of swamps and bushes.
The reality is that we do not know what kind of troubles and dangers we ourselves may face at any time or any time, but only God can give us peace, and we must believe in that and make any rainy season a blessed rainy season.
2. He does not make them a subject of prey to the Gentiles.
(Eze 34:28)
They will no longer be prey to the Gentiles, nor will they be swallowed up by the beasts of the earth; they will dwell in peace, and no one will be astonished.
What is the prey of the Gentiles?
Israel has always been invaded by foreign nations, looted, and sometimes taken into slavery.
When you fail in war, you become a plunder.
In the same way, when we fail in spiritual warfare, my soul becomes a slave of the devil and becomes a prey.
You have to fight yourself and win.
I have to fight and overcome the lust, greed, and selfishness that are happening in my heart.
It's not the blood that we fight, it's the flesh that we fight
Fight hard with the soldiers of the devils until the victory bell rings
Let's fight with one heart Let's fight with one heart
Fight hard with the soldiers of the devils until the victory bell rings
3. He raises up the earth so that it will not be disgraced by the nations.
(Eze 34:29)
I will raise up for them a famous land of cessation, and in that land they will no longer be destroyed by famine, and the nations will no longer be put to shame.
The earth is the seat of our lives. It's a field.
He will raise up a land to be brought to an end, so that there will be no famine and no more shame from the nations.
The word for the land to be sown is 'Mata Leschen', which refers to the land to be planted. What are you planting? The thing that does not become devastation like a famine, but raises it up, is to increase the land to be sown and cultivate so that it is abundant.
Like the blessed rainy season, He raises up the place of life, revitalizes it, and makes it prosperous.
Therefore, you will not be put to shame and will earn the envy and respect of the nations. Furthermore, because of this, Israel is God's people, and they are witnesses that testify that the Lord is my God.
Ezekiel concludes today's last verse by saying, "You are the sheep and men of my pasture, and I am your God."
May each of us be blessed as sheep in God's pasture and people of God.
I hope that today's society, the church, and our lives will have the grace of a blessed rainy season.
I hope that you will live a blessed life that testifies that you are the sheep of God and that the Lord is our God.
