Title Blessing Community / Numbers 6:22-27
Content Blessing Community / Numbers 6:22-27
1. We are a blessing community called by God: verses 22-23
In life, we are used to the language of worrying about reality, of criticizing others, of complaining. But the language of blessing to bless others is not familiar to us. That is why we cannot use the language of blessing and greet each other with “I love you” rather than “Bless you” during worship. But God has asked us to use the language of blessing.
In Numbers 6:23, God asked Aaron and his sons to bless the Israelites. Just as Aaron and his sons were priests in the Old Testament times, in the New Testament times, God asks all the saints who have become children of God through Jesus and become royal priests to use the language of blessing. God has invited us into the world of the language of blessing. As men of God, we must become God's lips and speak of God's blessings to God's creatures. Even in the unfamiliar language of blessing, we must proclaim God's blessings to the creatures of the world.
Saints are people who speak a language of blessing that has not been used before, and the church is a blessing community that proclaims blessings not only to each other but also to the world. The church is a community that uses the lost language of blessing to bless people in relationships, bless cities, and bless peoples and nations.
2. When we bless in God's name, God blesses us: verse 27
The important reason why we should proclaim blessings is that when we bless in God's name, the blessings that belong to God come to those who are blessed. Unlike word-of-mouth or eloquent theories that are pleasing to the other party only with words, blessing in the name of God is declaring God's blessings that God will accomplish to the other party through faith.
Blessing in God's name is the power that God has given us to bring heavenly blessings to troubled people living on this earth. Therefore, whether to use the blessing or not is a matter of whether we use the authority God has given us or not. As we bless others, we must use the power God has given us the power to bring the blessings that belong to God into our lives.
3. What to bless: verses 24-26
Then, what are the contents of the blessings we will bless in God's name?
First, it is a blessing that God protects us (24).
We live in danger of numerous accidents. We live in danger of car accidents, accidents at work, and countless accidents. There are many life and accident insurance plans, but no insurance can cover our lives. No one, nothing we have can protect ourselves from accidents. But only God protects us from the dangers of accidents. We should have God's blessing in protecting our lives from accidents and dangers by blessing each other.
We also live in the midst of evil forces that we cannot overcome on our own. The devil tries to tempt us into temptation. The devil tempts us through the temptation of money, the temptation of career, the temptation of reason, and the temptation of power. If you fall into temptations and temptations and try to change your life, then very little things become a test and your life will fall. But we must believe that God protects us from evil forces and temptations that attack and mess up our lives. It is in this belief that we must proclaim the blessings of God that protect us from the powers of evil.
Second, it is a blessing that gives grace (25).
God's grace is God's blessing in providing what we need. God provides the daily bread we need to live. You provide a job. God provides the financial needs we need to live. It also allows us to meet the people we need to live. We must daily proclaim the grace of God that he supplies and gives us.
The third is the blessing of peace (26).
Peace refers to the state in which everything is perfect and balanced. If one side is empty and the other overflows, it is not at peace. If you are healthy but lack wisdom, you are not at peace. Although there is economic wealth, there is no peace between brothers unless there is constant fighting due to lack of camaraderie among the brothers. Peace is about keeping everything in harmony and in balance.
The blessing of the world is that when one side is full, the other side becomes empty. Therefore, the blessings of the world often lead to loss of peace because of the blessings. Having achieved success in the world, it makes people proud. A person becomes rich in the world, but because of that wealth, a person is ruined. The blessing of a world that has lost its balance cannot enjoy peace. But God's blessing is the blessing of peace that fills the void in our lives with His own so that our lives are in balance. As Romans 8:28 says, “All things work together for good,” God fills even our shortcomings and our weaknesses, so that we can enjoy peace by making everything harmonious.
Conclusion:
God has called us to bless other lives in His name and to bless the community we live in. Every day we must proclaim to the world a God who protects and protects us. We must proclaim the grace of God, who gives us our daily bread and supplies for our needs. We must proclaim the God who makes us whole and gives us peace. As we proclaim our blessings, we, others, and our community possess God's blessings.
I pray that you will become believers who use the power of blessing to proclaim God's blessings in our lives so that the blessings of God in heaven can be enjoyed among us.
