Title Blessing Thoughts / Colossians 3:1-4
Subject: Blessing Thoughts
Text: Colossians 3:1-4
A magpie builds the same house even after a thousand years.
But people build better houses over time.
It's because you have the imagination to think.
It is truly an amazing grace of God that human beings can think.
God gives grace and blessings according to your thoughts.
Those who think they will be blessed will be blessed, and those who think they will be cursed will be cursed.
So even the devil wants to take over and rule our thoughts.
Judas Iscariot was forever cursed and destined to be irreversible because his thoughts were possessed by the devil.
In John 13:2, “The devil had already put the idea of betraying Jesus into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son…”
The devil cannot just enter us.
There must be a gap to enter, but Judas Iscariot continued to show the devil that gap with his greed.
So the devil took hold of his thoughts, and he eventually sold Jesus for 30 nyang and, without using the money, hanged himself and committed suicide, fell from a tree and fell, his intestines ruptured, and he died.
Worse than that, he received the eternal and irreversible punishment of hell.
This is all because it gave the devil a chance, and he accepted the devil's thoughts without being able to resist them.
When God judged the world with a flood, "The Lord saw that the iniquity of man is pervasive in the world, and that every plan of the thoughts of his heart is only evil all the time." He was grieved and grieved, but because there was no hope of improvement, he left Noah's family behind in the flood. was wiped out with
For 40 years in the wilderness, all those who looked down on the earth and thought of unbelief and had negative thoughts died and only Joshua and Caleb entered the land of Canaan. It was because they thought on God's side day and night, and their hearts looked to the land of Canaan.
That's why Proverbs 4:23 says, "More than anything else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life."
Today's text says, "Think of the things above, and not the things of the earth."
“Therefore, put to death your members that are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, lust, evil lust and covetousness, which is idolatry, for which the wrath of God is coming.”
Our saints are beings who died on the cross with Jesus and rose again by being united with Jesus.
Therefore, now we must kill our members on the earth and live by the Spirit.
The mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace.
Dirty thoughts, vulgar and lewd thoughts, false thoughts must die on the cross and be buried, and we must live with Jesus and the Holy Spirit with the hope of heaven.
We too live in a sinful world, but our hearts and minds must be in heaven.
If you think that you are holy and blessed in God's eyes, then God is pleased and gives you blessings. Then, what kind of thought is a blessed thought, and is it to think of things above?
First, praying with God in mind is a blessing.
God is able to give us exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20), according to the power that is at work in us.
“Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17), “And with all prayers and supplications, pray continually in the Spirit” (Ephesians 6:18).
In Psalm 19:14 it is written, “O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer, may the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable before you.”
♬“May every word of my lips and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to the Lord.
You are the life You are the Rock
May every word of my lips and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you."
We should also do regular prayer, which we set a time for and pray.
However, there must be a continuous prayer that is always like breathing regardless of time and place.
Whether you are working, on the road, or driving a car, you pray with that thought.
In the Bible, there is one person after God's own heart.
He is David.
He made mistakes and made many mistakes.
But what he liked about God was that he always asked God.
David always asked God, "Should I go or not?"
Everyone, the blessed thought is to pray with your thoughts in the field of life.
Second, it is a blessing to always think of the Word of God.
Psalm 1:2 says, “Blessed is the man who delights in the law of the Lord, and meditates on it day and night.”
As I said in the last time, those who meditate on the words of the Bible and think about them are the ones who will be blessed.
Blessed are those who meditate on the words they have read and think about them as if a cow chews the cud again, rather than simply listening to the sermons during worship and throwing them away.
If we leave our thoughts empty, Satan will take a break.
Therefore, we must fill in the Word.
Then the Word has power to give us wisdom, courage, and hope.
The word protects us.
Jesus defeated Satan and the Word.
I hope that the thoughts Satan gives you will reject the Word.
The Word is the sword of the Spirit.
I hope that you will take as much time as you can to meditate and memorize the words of the Bible to overcome Satan's forces and gain victory.
Third, the thought of faith is the thought of blessing.
Someone caught a flea and put it in a bottle.
jump out
Even if you grab it again, it jumps out.
I put the lid on.
No matter how much you jump, it will hit the bottle cap and fall again.
I left the bottle cap open later.
The fleas only jumped where the bottle cap was and couldn't get out any more.
Because I had an accident that I couldn't run anymore.
It's not good because I'm nailed to the negative thinking that I can't do anything.
Gentlemen, we are believers in the infinite God.
Anyone who believes in God can do anything.
In Mark 9:23, Jesus said, "If it is possible, what do you mean? Nothing is impossible for him who believes."
Mark 11:23 says, "Truly, I say to you, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Be taken up and thrown into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, believing that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.
The Apostle Paul confessed that he could do it even in prison.
It was a bad environment, but he was able to pray and sing.
evangelized by letter.
The jailer was converted.
I hope you don't blame the environment and let go of the idea that you can't do it.
Doubt is a gift from the devil, and faith is a gift from the Holy Spirit.
Satan tempts us with doubts.
Eve fell into this temptation and ate of the forbidden fruit and was driven out of Eden.
Even Peter was rebuked for doubting Jesus' words.
(Mt 14:31) “And immediately Jesus stretched out his hand and took hold of him, and said, O you of little faith, why did you doubt?
The Lord spoke to the doubtful Thomas.
(John 20:27) And he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here and see my hands, and reach out your hand and put it in my side; and do not be unbelievers, but believers.
Hear the reports of the 12 people who returned after detecting Canaan.
10 people were an unbelievable report.
we can't get in
We are like grasshoppers.
Joshua and Caleb were treasuries of faith.
God is with us and we enter.
They are our rice.
The unbelieving majority perished.
(1 Corinthians 10:5) But God was not pleased with the majority of them, and they perished in the wilderness.
Only two people of faith entered Canaan.
If you believe in God without doubting or fearing under any circumstances, you will experience amazing miracles
May the Holy Spirit fill us with the thoughts of faith at this time today.
Fourth, it is a blessing to think of the other person's point of view.
Can we do that when we see the person who did something wrong, or did we do it before we cursed and scolded?
It's about changing your perspective.
When Jesus saw them crucified on the cross, he felt sorry for them.
So he prayed, "Father, forgive their sins, for I do not know what they are doing."
Conflicts between fathers and mothers or marital quarrels can be solved by changing their positions and thinking.
It is to consider each other's position from the husband's position, the wife's position, the daughter-in-law position, and the mother-in-law position.
Jesus said. “Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy” (Matthew 5:7).
Lastly, it is always a blessing to live thinking about the future.
You won't make a big mistake if you think about future consequences before you say anything and do something.
The cause of all tragedies is acting out of temporary emotions without considering the consequences. Judas Iscariot only thought of 30 pieces of silver, but did not think of the terrible consequences of that event, so it brought a huge result.
When Achan captured the city of Ai, he saw only a nugget of gold and a silver cloak and a beautiful coat of Mount Shinar and stole it because he did not consider the terrible consequences of that sin. That's right, he died.
It is because when we look at the people who caused problems with gambling, alcohol, tobacco, and drugs, we do not think about the future, but only the reality.
A person who thinks about future outcomes would not have even thought of touching it in the first place.
The devil's thoughts are always sweet at first, and then cause thousands and tens of thousands of times bitter pain. God tells us to do the bitter things at first, but the result is to reap the fruits that are thousands of times and tens of thousands of times sweeter.
Dear friends, I hope that you will think of a blessing.
Pray with your mind,
Always meditate on the Word,
Always think of faith.
Consider the other person's point of view.
Think of the future.
God will bless you according to your thoughts. Hallelujah Amen!
<Let's pray>
Oh! Lord, let the Holy Spirit take hold of our thoughts so that we can only think of blessings.
Without giving Satan a break, let us always pray with our thoughts, meditate on the Word, fill us with faith, and think of others and think about the future so that we can live a blessed life.
Holy Spirit, heal our erroneous thoughts.
I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
