Title Change your eyes (Numbers 13:25-33)
Contents
Today, I would like to talk about the theme of 'change your eyes' among the rules of success for Christians. If we change the way we look, we can succeed.
The ten spies said, The inhabitants of the land were strong, and the cities were strong and very large, and the inhabitants were tall and majestic, and we stood before him like grasshoppers. He said that hitting the land was not difficult. But Joshua and Caleb insisted that we go up and take possession of the land. Their protector has departed from them, and the LORD is with us; they are our food, and we must not fear that we can overcome them. That's right. Each of them had a different view of the enemy. Depending on how you see it, you may succeed or you may fail. To be successful, you have to change the way we look.
1. Let's look at it positively.
Verse 30 says, “And Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “Let us go up immediately and take possession of the land, for we are well able to overcome it.” Everyone else has a negative view and talks about losing, but Caleb talks about winning with a positive view.
Gentlemen, Christianity is a positive religion. When Christianity came in, there was progress, there was construction, there was reform. God is a positive God. Caleb and Joshua positively say that if we go up and take over this land, we will be able to overcome it. Very positive. Even if it is difficult and painful, the way is opened to those who look at it positively, think and move forward.
Are there any negative people around you? People don't like that kind of person. In short, they are bad people. People do not gather around such a person. But there are always a lot of people around positive people. They are active, hopeful, and live a pleasant life. I hope that all of you will become believers who look at them from a positive point of view. Please look at it positively that things will go well even in unfavorable situations. If you look at it with a positive eye, you will surely succeed.
2. Let's look at it positively.
Verse 31 says, “The men who went up with him said, “We cannot go up and strike the people; they are stronger than we are.”
The ten spies were people of passive unbelief. People like this are always desperate. You are limiting your own God-given abilities. There is nothing to expect from such a person. Even the smallest things make me cringe and cover it up. I can't... I can't... I can't do it... like a habit. It is predicated on failure from the beginning. So they see themselves as grasshoppers and fall into a sense of inferiority.
Joshua and Caleb lived with positive eyes. The path is opened to those who are actively looking and going out. God is with those who actively pursue it. God is not passive. God is active. He is the One who created the universe and continues to create it even now. Overcome all obstacles with a positive eye. I hope you do not give in to the environment and actively overcome it.
3. Let's look at it in faith.
In verses 32-33, the ten spies spoke badly about the spying land before the children of Israel, saying, “The land we went through and spyed out is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people we saw there were of great stature; We saw the giants of the descendants of Anak, who in our own eyes were like grasshoppers, and we must have looked like them.”
I saw it through the eyes of disbelief. Enemies look huge and they look like grasshoppers. We need the eyes of faith. We must cast away the eyes of unbelief. If God said it was good land, it must be good land from the eyes of faith. However, the ten spies criticize the land God had given them to. How unbelieving are you looking at this? This will fail. We must cast away our unbelieving eyes.
Seeing through the eyes of faith, the future of victory is in sight. With the eyes of faith, Caleb and Joshua are talking. “Do you not see our Canaan unfold before your eyes?” He gave me courage and hope to see the victory that came with the eyes of faith.
To be successful, you must change the way you see the world. I wish you a successful life by having a positive eye, an active eye, and an eye of faith.
