Children like Joseph (Genesis 37:1-11)
Hallelujah!! Today is Children's Sunday for the hope of our family, the future heroes of the church, and our children who will make this land prosperous in the future. I pray in the name of the Lord that great and wonderful grace will fill the whole family through the word of God on this important day.
1. Today is Children's Sunday established by the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Korea.
I earnestly pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ that all children in the world may become healthy, beautiful, and God-loving children by the abundant grace of our God with them.
2. Today's Word-
Today, on Children's Sunday, God's word is the story of Jacob's family. A prominent figure in Jacob's family is Joseph, after all.
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I pray that all the children of the families of the saints of our possibility become children like Joseph, and that they may become all blessed children who please God, benefit the world, and glorify their parents.
Speaking of Joseph, I am a successful politician who enjoyed wealth and glory for 80 years as the prime minister of Egypt. One of the most successful people in Israel's history.
The Bible records his deeds in detail and testifies to how he was able to lead such a successful life. We pray that today will be a time to receive grace through his life and pray that all our children will receive the same blessings as Joseph.
3. Children of absolute faith-First, Joseph had the faith to trust God absolutely. With this faith, he always enjoyed peace in the midst of hardships and adversity.
He believed in Almighty God.
I have always lived a life of walking with God.
No matter what adversity or trial came, he trusted in God.
His whole life was a belief in God.
Those who love only God and have absolute trust in God only know, hear, and entrust the work of God. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I pray that all of our children will become children who love and serve God as if they were life.
4. Children of Positive Thinking - Second, Joseph was a positive person. Even when I was sold to my brothers and lived as a slave in Potiphar's house in Egypt, I always lived a hopeful and positive life with faith in God.
Even in situations where human beings are bound to fall into extreme despair, I always live with hope. And eventually overcome that adversity. And in his life there is no grumbling or complaining. However, I lived a sincere life, doing my best to be the best and not ugly in my life.
His life like this moved God and led him to the path of victory, the path of prosperity, and the path of prosperity. I pray that all our children will always be blessed with a positive and hopeful life in the Lord.
5. Children who shun sin - Thirdly, Joseph is a person who shuns sin. In particular, the story of the temptation of a woman is recorded in Genesis 39:7 and below while recording the life of Joseph. This is because this sin is the sin that humans are most easily tempted to do, and it can be a common occurrence among us.
But Joseph said, "There is no one greater in this house than me, and the master has kept nothing from me, but he has kept it from me, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great evil and sin against God?" (Genesis 39:9) .
I do not betray the trust that has given me confidence in myself in my relationships with humans. Not only that, but because I feared the living God, I lived a life of clean and clear spring water anytime, anywhere. Joseph, who overcame this challenge and temptation, opened the road to blessing.
The woman Bilhara, who appears in today's text, is Jacob's concubine. But she is a lewd woman. In Genesis 35, he had an affair with Reuben, Jacob's eldest son. (Genesis 35:22) And in the text, it is recorded that Joseph was with the sons of Zilpah, and that Joseph told his father their fruits. A rebellious wife and a rebellious child.
Also, the story of David is recorded in 2 Samuel 11 and below. I see Uriah's wife Bathsheba bathing. But he cannot resist the temptation. In the end, he commits a horrific crime that destroys a family and commits murder. As a result, they will be judged by the collapse of their own families and the eventually collapse of the nation (2 Samuel 12:9-12, 1 Kings 11:11).
This is a generation where ethics and morals have fallen to the ground. This is a generation full of sin and evil. We have become a generation that does not fear God even after committing sins.
From adults to children, they are becoming polluted with sin. Just as Israel is on the verge of destruction, a generation that seeks pleasure and despises God is coming to this earth again.
We must pray. We pray that our children will become like Joseph, who hate sin, practice justice and holiness, and overcome the temptations of Satan and the devil.
6.Children who are lifted up and used by God-Fourth is God's limitless blessing. It is a blessing that cannot be hoped for. It is a blessing overflowing to those who could not even dream of it.
look. Joseph was sold into Egypt as a slave, but he was appointed prime minister, the highest position except for Pharaoh, the king of that country, and served as prime minister for over 80 years.
Because of God's special choice and guarantee, I have become one of the most beautiful, successful and victorious people in Christian history. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I pray that the work of being held in God's hands and being used will come to each of our children of possibility.
