Title [Chuseok Family Worship (Sunday)] A Resurgent Family
Contents
Hymn: 358 "When the Morning Sun Rises"
The call to worship: Philippians 1:3-6
Confession of Faith: Apostles' Creed
Prayer: in the family
Text: Proverbs 6:1~11
Key Verse: “Go to the ant, you lazy, and see what it does, and be wise” (Proverbs 6:6).
Word: May God's abundant blessings be with you during the Mid-Autumn Festival. The family is the basic group that forms the foundation of society. Society can develop only when the family is upright and strong. Home is the home and shelter of life. Life is happy only when the family is warm and prosperous.
Today's sermon deals with two themes. Families who succeed in this problem will be able to experience revival.
The first is that you have to be wise with ‘words’ and manage ‘money’ well. The text describes a situation in which he was in great financial trouble due to a mistake in his words. Often, a single word can play a decisive role. One word pays off a thousand nyang debts, while others sprinkle ashes on cooked rice because of one word. The language function of speech and the economic function of money are inextricably linked.
Economic function is very important while living in the body. The Bible never taught that riches are useless. It is only to be on the lookout for wealth to become an idol and become an end. Families with the wealth to earn as much as they can and spend as much as they can for God and their neighbors will be greatly revived.
The second is not to err in 'work' by overdoing 'sleep'. In the text, sleep is used as an expression to symbolize laziness. A lazy person never gets things done. If you achieve something even though you are lazy, it is rather a disaster. The fact that the work was done while sleeping and playing will make you even more lazy and will eventually drive you to your own ruin.
Diligence is a virtue of the Christian life. People who don't like to work are told not to eat. The desire to achieve is a blessing God has given to man. The desire to succeed in my work makes people diligent. It makes you wake up early and saves time. Families with diligence as their philosophy of life will be greatly revived.
This time around Mid-Autumn Festival is also the season of harvest. Due to Typhoon Rusa, various regions and many families suffered damage, so the joy of harvesting has decreased, but God will grant work achievement and economic revival to families who are wise in their words and work diligently according to the teachings of today's Word.
Prayer: Give revival to all parts of our homes, spirit, spirit, and body. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
