Bible: Matthew 25:14-30
Title:Fiscal Report
If we see creation as the beginning, then judgment is the end. The Bible begins with Genesis, the record of creation, and ends with Revelation, which deals with the final judgment.
Christianity is a religion with a clear beginning and an end. The reason is that Jesus Christ Himself, whom we believe in, is the beginning and the end. In Revelation 1:8, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, saith the Lord God; The one who is to come, the Almighty.”
The text also explains how important the beginning and the end are in the life of faith. In other words, the importance of the beginning and the end is emphasized.
The text tells the story of the master giving out talents to each of his servants when he went on an overseas trip and leaving, and after returning he gave rewards and punishments for the results.
Here the master means Jesus and the servants means all of us.
Let's find the following lessons based on the text
1. Let's look at the principle of distributing talents.
Each was entrusted to their talents.
In verse 15, it says, “Each one according to their talents.” Just as each person has a different appearance, people have different personalities, talents, and hobbies.
If you think about it, it is a miracle that people with different conditions can live together in one fence. Therefore, it is not always possible to live well and be happy under the same conditions. It is beautiful.
For example, if a husband and wife have the same face, personality, hobbies, and habits, then the eldest son, second son, eldest daughter, and second daughter have the same face and the same personality, hobbies and habits. Will family life be boring or enjoyable? .
It is the same with the beautiful church. It is the art of art that different people come together to make and serve a beautiful church.
The same is true for countries.
The political positions or viewpoints of all countries cannot be the same. However, the operation and development of a huge national community is due to the derivation of the national view that the national interest comes first.
The results of the presidential election held on December 18th were not spared positive evaluations and praise from the world media. The results are highly evaluated as to the progress of democracy or the advancement of democracy.
Even if we think about it, the process and results of this election were fairer than any other election, and it was a step toward democracy. The attitudes of winners and losers were as well as the sentiments of the people who watched it.
The problem is in the future. If you fall into complacency because you win or hold a grudge when you lose, it's people who don't know political harmony.
It is the right attitude to praise what you do well and criticize what you do not.
But if you spend your whole life in opposition for the sake of opposition, you cannot respect such a person.
Democracy means accepting the vote of the majority and raising the flag of cooperation, even if the people I support and vote for have fallen.
The same is true of church life. Things I don't like can be decided and executed. So, if it is decided by the majority, obeying and following is a democratic thinking and attitude.
To insist, “Even if you do everything you can, I am the opposite,” or to force yourself to say, “Not until dirt gets into my eyes” is completely self-righteous and self-righteous.
It happened at a church located in downtown Seoul.
There is a bulletin board next to the shabby gate. It was made by a priest 30 years ago to commemorate the inauguration of the priest, and the material was wood, so it was rotten and damaged by rain and wind.
A certain butler said that the bulletin board was unsightly and donated 5 million won. That was enough to say that it was possible to make a frame with color stainless steel and install electricity. I was about to start right away, but I remembered Mr. Kwon who dedicated it 30 years ago. I made a phone call. After answering the call, Mr. Kwon replied, “Not until dirt gets into my eyes.”
That's why he asked me, "Isn't there any good solution?", saying that he hasn't been able to change the bulletin board so far.
After thinking for a while, I said, “There is a way,” and the pastor said, “There is only one way.”
“What is it?”
“Start praying today.”
“What prayer are you going to start?”
“Lord, please allow the dirt to quickly enter the eyes of that Kwon… ”
You should not try to keep your family life, social life, work life, or church life up to date. You should not try to carry out only your own opinions or claims.
In the case of church life, we need to think about whether self-assertion and stubbornness are beneficial to the church and go one step further and think about whether the Lord is pleased.
When the Lord entrusts us with work, he entrusts it to each of us according to our talents.
The distribution of talents is divided into five, two, and one. To those who can afford five, five is given, and to those who are worthy of one, one is given. is.
The principle of distributing talents can be summarized in two ways.
The first is the master's will,
The second is that each is given according to their talents.
The talents that I am currently entrusted with are those given to me by the Lord, who is the master, looking at my potential and abilities.
2. Let's look at the principle of talent management.
1) Go straight...
In verse 16, it says, “Go immediately”, and in verse 17, the one who received the two talents said, “Do likewise.”
There was no need to hesitate, and as soon as they received Dalat, they immediately went out to trade.
The purpose of the master's giving of the talent is described in verse 27. It is to make a profit.
He said to the servant who had buried one talent in the ground and brought it back, “You should leave it with those who take my money, and then you will come back to me and receive my principal and interest.”
Money hiding underground is called the underground economy. Disrespectful money is called black money. Money must be exchanged in a fair way.
If you bury it in the ground like a servant who received one talent, there will be problems in the circulation of money and, as a result, problems in economic order.
Some people have great talents, but there are people who put off using them later. It is like a person who burys talents in the ground.
There are some people who use amazing talents without liking to their master.
You have to go right away. No delay, no delay.
2) You must leave it.
In verse 16, it says, “He traded with it and left five talents.” In verse 17, it is said that the person who received the two talents also “leaved two talents”.
The global economy is suffering from deteriorating international economic and business conditions.
Japan's economy in the 1980s was literally booming.
On Hawaiian TV, Japanese banks advertised bank loans as if touting products, asking citizens if they would borrow money to buy them.
However, economists call the Japanese economy a bubble economy. The bubble of the Japanese economy, which swelled like a soap bubble, is now fading and is sinking into a swamp of recession.
A business that does not have any leftovers is a trusted business. In the case of talent, there must be nothing left. It is given to you to leave, so you must leave it.
Leaving means profit, performance, and result.
First of all, we should write our own financial report on how much we have left over this year.
3. We need to think about talents and rewards.
It should be noted that the praise and reward given to the servant who left five more and the one who left two more are the same.
Verse 21 says to the servant who left the five, “Well done, good and faithful servant, since you have been faithful over a little thing, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.”
And in verse 23, he said to the servant who had left two, “Well done, good and faithful servant, you have been faithful over a few things, and I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.”
The important thing here is that the question of whether you have two or five left is not very important. Both of them were praised and rewarded equally. The reason is simple. It is because each of them distributed talents according to their talents.
The important thing is that he left a ship. So, the person who received a month's rent would have received the same praise and reward as the servant who left five or two if he had worked hard and left one more.
Let's analyze the character of the person who buried one in the ground.
First, he is a person who is obsessed with prejudice.
He had prejudice against his master.
Verse 24 says, “Because I knew that you are a hard man, reaping where you have not sown and gathering where you have not sown.”
In a word, he saw the owner as a scoundrel and wretch. It was his unfortunate prejudice. Therefore, in verse 26, the owner points out how wrong his prejudice is and rebukes him.
Prejudice ruins things, and it leads to negative understanding and wrong things.
Second, it was passive.
In verse 25, it says that they hid it in the ground because they were “feared”. It means that they were afraid of failure, and that they were afraid of being rebuked by their master after failing.
Passive people do not do great things.
To the disciples who were struggling with the storm, the Lord said, “Why are you afraid, it is I, do not be afraid.”
Those who are not afraid and actively challenge themselves can succeed and achieve great things.
Third, there were many excuses.
A person who works well and is loyal has no excuses. However, those who do not work have many excuses and talk more.
People who are zealous in the life of giving don't complain about the many types of donations. People who don't are very talkative.
Those who are zealous for evangelism do not complain that they are evangelizing. Even those who strive for prayer life do not complain about prayer.
It is like a person who has good digestion even if he eats raw rice, wraps it in cold water and eats rice with only one kimchi, but eats it deliciously, but people who don't eat a lot of complaining about rice and side dishes. Let's not make excuses.
Fourth, he was an evil and lazy servant.
This one thing explains it all.
What can an evil and lazy person do?
We are celebrating our last New Year's Day this year.
How much did you work and how much did you have left?
How lazy and short were you?
Let's humbly make our financial statements.
And let's make a profit in the coming new year.
Let's not be full of deficits in faith.
Congratulations on overflowing your belly in everything.
