Title Colossians 02:6-7 overflowing thanksgiving
full of thanks
(Col 2:6-7)
When a person lives on this earth, he must live like a human being. How to live like a human being? These days, the value judgment of seeing people is different, so only the outward appearance is important. But to live like a human is to live as a human being. Not the outward appearance, but the person's quality of life. To play the role of a human being, to live like a human being, is to know grace. I want to conclude that the way to know grace and repay it is the way to live like a human being. It is like a human being for a child to know a nanny's grace and a disciple to know a teacher's grace. In Korean society, labor-management problems are quite serious. If there is a lack of gratitude and appreciation between labor and management, this issue may affect the existence of Korean society.
The reason that the Israelites, who had been slaves in Egypt for 430 years, escaped and went to Canaan was not because of a shortage of Egyptian supplies, but for the purpose of realizing God's grace and living a life of gratitude. The purpose of redeeming us from sin and making us children of God was so that we might become people who know grace and who can repay grace. We must remember the words of the Apostle Paul, 'He who truly knows grace can overflow with thanksgiving'.
Paul did not go directly to the Colossae church, but indirectly planted it. However, today's text is the record of what kind of church it is to be a saint-like church and a church-like church. So who is this person?
First, it is a person who walks in the Lord. This is the person who can overflow with gratitude. Then who can walk in the Lord? Those who have “received Christ Jesus as Lord” God is the owner of life, the owner of the home, and the owner of my business and business. Those who confess this are the saints. Worship is the center of life, and the way to live like a saint is to receive Jesus as the Lord. I am not the owner of the business, the home, or the church. Only when Jesus Christ becomes the master can that person become a saint. Even though he was a disciple of Jesus, Judas Iscariot followed Jesus as a teacher. The other disciples also followed Jesus for three years, but their dreams were shattered as they followed Jesus with resentment over how to use him.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8). We must live a life of witness and a life of preaching the gospel as a tool of evangelism. The work of reviving spiritual life must occur through the Taeshinja movement. He has called us to do that. Living by bearing the fruit of the Spirit is the evidence we walk in it. Bearing the nine fruits of love, peace, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control is the evidence of living in it. A vine branch must be attached to the vine in order to bear fruit. When a vine branch falls from the vine, it is nothing but firewood. It is referring to the fact that the connection and relationship like a branch attached to a tree must be made immediately.
Third, we must 'stand firm in the faith'. You must be educated to stand firm in the faith. When we receive the food of the Spirit and the Word of God, we live a right and strong faith life. We stand firm in our faith when we receive spiritual nourishment through the church we serve, Jesus in whom we believe. Those who listen to the word of God in order to receive the word and instruction of the Lord and to live righteously can overflow with gratitude.
I pray that all the members of our Synthetic Church, who are celebrating Thanksgiving in the new millennium today, will feel their spiritual thirst, receive God's lessons, become saints who stand upright on faith, and give thanks overflowing with right faith.
