Title Come, Lord Jesus / Revelation 22:20-21
Contents
When a person waits for something, it gives rise to anticipation and excitement, or tension, anxiety and impatience. A married couple who has a wedding date or a travel date awaits them with anticipation, but a death row inmate is anxiously awaiting the execution date. We look forward to a better tomorrow. So, no matter how difficult the reality is, if there is a hopeful tomorrow, the difficulties of today can be endured. We dream of a hopeful future, but the world doesn't turn out the way we want it to. So waiting requires patience.
No matter how much the kingdom of the world seems to sweep away everything, the glory and power of the kingdom of God remain the same. Therefore, we must gain strength and overcome the world with faith. God will eventually triumph over all Satan and the powers of darkness.
Today's text says twice that He is coming soon, and the Apostle John who heard the word replies, 'Amen, Lord Jesus, come quickly.' What the Apostle John wants is not any worldly honor, power, or wealth, but that he has nothing more to wish for when the Lord comes. But the question is, why hasn't the Lord come yet?
The reason is that the gospel has not yet been preached throughout the world. In Matthew 24:14, “This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come”. He spoke these words after an earthquake occurred, wars and rumors of wars did not cease, false prophets rose up, and they fell into temptation, and lawlessness increased. Again, these signs are saying that disaster is only the beginning. He spoke of things that will happen at the end of the world and the end of the world will come only when the gospel of Jesus is preached throughout the world.
Do we live for the Lord hard enough to say, 'Amen, come Lord Jesus'? How would you like to work hard for your own work, but do the Lord's work as hard as your work? In verse 12, it says that I have a reward to give. What are the criteria for awarding awards? as it worked. Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only those who do the will of my Father who is in heaven.” We must listen to God seriously.
All people seek their own work, but do not set their heart on the work of the Lord. If there is one thing the Lord earnestly wants from us to the end, it is the salvation of souls. When the Lord was carrying the cross to Golgotha, many women followed Him and wept. Then the Lord looked back and said, “Do not weep for me, but weep for you and your children.” We must weep for ourselves, who cannot live according to God's will. We must weep for this generation.
In the book of Ezekiel, God planned everything through Isaiah Jeremiah Ezekiel to destroy the Israelites and take them into captivity. And everything is going according to God's plan. The destruction of Israel also means the destruction of all the nations around it. Still, he tells Ezekiel, "Nevertheless, you must pray for this to happen." He promised that wherever two or three people gather in my name, where they pray in my name, I will be with them.
He also gives faith to God's people through the Word and gives them the power to overcome the world. There are very few cases in which we cannot act because we do not know the Word. We all know it, but the problem is that we don't do it. The pastor always prays for a week and prepares by meditating on the Word. Pour the juice.
1 Corinthians 1:21 "In the wisdom of God, God was pleased with the foolishness of evangelism to save those who believed, because the world did not know God by its own wisdom." If you don't believe in the omnipotence of God, you can never do it. If you do not believe in God's promises, you will never be able to do it. Who evangelizes? Are you a person who works with cool reason? Are you a common sense person? Are you a highly educated person? However, this will never lead to evangelism. Those who are caught up in the word of the Lord evangelize. I obey that word. Those who really have the power of Jesus and the Gospel are different. Believing in God is a different life.
Are there people who love the truth, love the Lord, and follow the cross of the Lord with all their might to keep and practice the word the Lord has given? Aren't we the ones who cannot see the cross of the Lord because all our words and actions are tied to ourselves? Let's see if we can really say, 'Amen, come Lord Jesus,' even if we live like this. John's Gospel says, "You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." Do you know the truth? But why not be so free? They live tied to their work and cannot be free in the world. Can you still say you know the truth? We don't move at all. All of us who call but do not answer must repent.
May every day be the best day of your life. Let's live a life of faith that our lives can proudly ask, 'Come, Amen, Lord Jesus.' Come quickly, and I will go with my reward to share with you, Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
