Title Come to me (Matthew 11:25-30)
Contents Today's Word contains two commands that Jesus commanded. The first command is to “come to me”. Verse 28 says, “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” The second command is to come to Me, “Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me.” Verse 29 says, “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart.”
1. Good grades and good studies
Here, I want to focus on the word ‘learning’ and tell the story of my school days. I got good grades when I was in school. When I say that I got good grades, I only say that I got good grades, not that I studied well. It's just that I got good grades. I had relatively good grades in elementary school, middle school, and high school, except for my grades in middle school. So, I went to college with ease. However, the grades in the third year of middle school were not good. I graduated from elementary school in Jumunjin, Gangwon-do and went on to middle school. As I went to middle school, my grades started to stand out, but I transferred to Seoul in my second year. When I transferred to another school, my grades plummeted because my textbooks changed and my progress was different.
But how do you get good grades? In Korea, if you pass the exam well, you can get good grades. If I remember getting good grades, it was because I was good at cramming. When the teacher said that I was going to take the exam, I stayed up all night and studied for several days from then. I was good at cramming because I was smart. And if you anticipate the questions that will appear in the exam questions, almost all of the expected questions came out. So the grades were good. A person with good grades does not necessarily have to be a good student. People must have skills. If you have hidden skills, you can do anything well. When people judge others, they rate them by their grades. The reason is that skills can only be known by watching them together for a long time, but grades can be known by looking at the transcript right away.
2. Evaluation method
How do people rate his grades? Evaluate with the answer sheet on the exam paper. If your answers are well organized on the test paper, the professor will give you a high score, regardless of whether you crammed or worked hard. I saw Korean entertainers in their 10s and 20s come out and talk about their school days, and it was an astonishing 74% of what they had done at least once during their school days was cheating. Professors give good marks if the answers on the test paper are well recorded, even if they are cheated and not found out.
But the Lord's assessment is different. The Lord evaluates not by looking at the answer sheet, but by our heart. Jeremiah 17:10 says, “I, the Lord, search the heart and test the lungs; I give to each one according to his deeds and deeds.” People look at our outward appearance, but God looks at our heart. From last spring to summer, my wife has lost 6 kg. I did a health check to see if there was anything wrong. I also checked with a stethoscope and took an X-ray for the invisible part. I also had a CT scan and a gastroscopy. The result was judged that there was nothing wrong with it. What you can't see on the outside, you have to look inside. Our God sees through our hearts and even our lungs. God looks at our center and evaluates us.
Therefore, in order to receive good grades in the Lord's evaluation, you must write the word 'truth' on the stone monument of 'heart' with a brush. All we need to do is to sincerely write down what we lack before God, what we lack, and what we lack. The Lord said, “Come to me, take my yoke upon you, and learn from me.” We must learn the heart of the Lord. We must learn to be meek and humble. You must learn to be patient and bear heavy crosses.
3. Start over
There is a time when the study of the world ends. Elementary school ends in 6 years. Middle school ends in 3 years. Once passed, it cannot be started again. Bad grades are irreversible and remain forever. But learning from the Lord is not over yet. Learning from the Lord can now begin again. Dear saints, Come to the Lord, don't stop learning and start over.
Look at Peter's faith. Peter was originally a failed student. Peter, who said that I would not forsake the Lord even though everyone else had abandoned the Lord, denied knowing the Lord three times was a failing score in faith. Before the cross, Jesus took his disciples to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray. Jesus worked hard and worked hard and prayed earnestly that his sweat would become like raindrops, but Peter was a failed student of faith who slept without praying. In order to follow the Lord, one must carry the cross of the Lord, but he failed the subject of carrying the cross and was running away from the face of a young visa. His faith score was a fail. But Peter heard the rooster crow twice and started again. In Mark's upper room, he and 120 people prayed fervently for ten days without leaving Jerusalem. Paul, who made no effort to pray, experienced the filling of the Holy Spirit. Peter's faith at this time was 100 points. Knowing that Jesus was crucified, he said that he would carry the cross upside down in Rome. Peter's faith is a great faith.
That's right. Faith can do it again. If I remember the past, I want to be a middle school student once again. I want to study really hard to correct my bad grades. It's impossible to go back to middle school, but the faith can start over. First, you have to work hard from the basics. The foundation of faith is ‘worship’ and ‘prayer’. We must worship hard and pray. Second, we need the help of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the Comforter and helps us. John 14:26 says, “The Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send, who will teach you all things and will remind you of all the things I have said to you.” Even if we study hard at school, we need the help of the Holy Spirit just as we need the help of a teacher or a friend who is good at studying.
Dear saints, Let's rewrite the grades of our faith. I pray in the name of Jesus that we all start again and receive great results in our faith.
