Title Consequences of Fornication/ Proverbs 6:25-35
The content of this obscenity is mentioned a lot at the beginning of the book of Proverbs.
So, in this text, I try to ask for grace while thinking about the content briefly.
##### 1. It is telling you not to covet beautiful colors in your heart.
Verse 25 of the text says, <Do not lust after her beautiful color in your heart, and do not be seduced by her eyelids.>
That beautiful color> means <her beauty>.
And the word <Do not covet> has the meaning of <Do not desire> <Do not lust>.
These words are Exodus 20:17...< Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, or his manservant, or his maidservant, or his ox, or his ass, or anything that is thy neighbour's.
It is a sin to have such a heart.
That is why the Lord also says, Matthew 5:28...< I tell you, everyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.>
##### 2. Don't spill it on those eyelids
Proverbs 6:25...< Do not lust after her beauty in your heart, nor be enchanted by her eyelids.>
Genesis 39:7...<After that, his master's wife beckoned Joseph to lie with her...>
2 Kings 9:30 [Jehu came to Jezreel, and when Jezebel heard it, she drew her eyes and decorated her hair, and looked out the window...
It means resist the temptation of a whore who seduces you with your eyes.
--How many things tempt our eyes?
The dazzling neon lights, all the derailments that tempt us, and the sensational TV shows of T.V... are all things that seduce our eyes. You must overcome such temptation.
##### 3. Reasons not to fall for the temptation of obscenity
1) Becoming poor
2) The harlot is the hunter of life
Verse 26...<Because of a whore, a man is left with only one piece of bread, and an adulterous woman hunts for a precious life.>
3) It's like holding fire in your arms
Verse 27: “How can a man have fire in his bosom, so that his clothes are not burned…”
4) Feels like stepping on charcoal
Verse 28...<How can a man tread on coals and not burn his feet?>
5) Neighbor's wife is a sin just to touch
Verse 29...< So it shall be with a man who commits adultery with another man's wife. No one who only touches him will be made without sin.>
6) Adultery is a greater sin than a thief.
Verses 30-32...< If a thief steals from his stomach when he is hungry, no one will despise him. He who commits adultery with a woman is ignorant. Whoever does this destroys his soul...>
7) Being ashamed
Verse 33...<They are bruised and reviled, and the shame cannot be washed away...>
8) An adulterer's husband will follow her husband's vengeance.
Verses 34-35...< Her husband is enraged with envy, and on the day of revenge, she will not forgive, pay no fine, and will not listen if she gives her many gifts.>
conclusion
The best way is to overcome the temptation of lewdness.
