Title Consider it (Romans 6:8-11)
Contents
What is the difference between the old grandmother and the widow of the saints who do not have close fellowship with God? There is no "inspiration". I bless the Lord for the gift of inspiration to everyone who participated in this worship service today. Amen. I pray in the name of the Lord that God will be present during this worship service so that all our worries, anxieties, and headaches will be destroyed and inspiration will flow to all your people who long for your grace and power. Amen
In today's text, the word "considerate" in verse 11 is a precious word that tells us that we need to change our thinking.
What does "considerate" mean? It means "acknowledging or thinking that it is so in your mind." But today's Word is not in the narrative form, but in the imperative form. He said, “Consider it,” that is, “Rogijesde.” That's what you commanded. It doesn't mean you have to think so, it just means you have to. It is to admit, think, believe, and hold fast to it in your heart.
You have to change your thinking. The problem is solved only when we think with our hearts and minds that our spirits and souls are like that. It is said to be the way it is.
There is a saying that “the economy is not the real thing, it is the psychology”. The economy is not real, but it fluctuates according to psychology. If you keep saying, "It's a crisis, it's a crisis," both consumption and investment will shrink. Then foreign capital flows out. Then a really psychological crisis becomes a real crisis.
The more difficult it is, the better it will be.
However, the word "here" used in today's text does not simply mean to think positively. It's not just about brainwashing yourself rationally. The world tells you to think positively, and to increase your positive abilities. And you have to work hard to make that happen. There is a point. There are also some benefits. You said that physical training has some benefit, but what about the mind? However, there is one thing that should not be forgotten. If I say that the start of a positive mindset started with me, I'm just deceiving myself. It is the self that causes this rational belief. It is only a carnal thought. Skills may also appear in mind control or a positive mindset. Transcendental powers can also arise from these things. But there is no repentance, no forgiveness, no eternal life, no salvation, no resurrection. The kingdom of God has not been established there.
Positive thoughts without the Word, positive thoughts and power without the Holy Spirit will only lead to a further and further separation from our relationship with Jesus Christ. It's not a belief, it's just a belief.
“Beware lest anyone plunder you with philosophy and vain deceit, according to the traditions of men and the rudiments of the world, and not according to Christ” (Colossians 2:8).
“If ye have died with Christ in the elementary studies of the world, then why do you obey the question as if you were living in the world, that is, seize not, taste, and do not touch” (Colossians 2:20-21).
Because most of our beliefs about bad things are based on our own experiences, wrong feelings, or knowledge, it's easy to believe and think about things that aren't good. On the contrary, in many cases, there is little or no practical experience with the Word of God, and it is not easily believed because the Word of God is not accepted rationally, scientifically, and rationally. That is why, while easily dismissing bad things, it is not easy to regard good things.
That is why God is commanding us to “consider” what God has done and what he will do in the future through the text of the text. This is the good fight of faith that we must fight every day.
“All the promises of God are yes in Christ, so that through him we say Amen to the glory of God.”
The word consider is the same as this word. All God's promises are "yes", not "no" in Christ. Therefore, when we say Amen to God's promises in Christ, we glorify God. Amen and here are the same thing.
"Getting here" is like inserting a key and unlocking a tightly locked lock.
"To accept" is to believe and accept in your heart what God has already given you, and to confess and proclaim the word of the new covenant with your mouth. These verses deal with a more fundamental problem of status than the problem of actions. Our status is not that of sinners where sin rules and rules, but that of children of God, where God rules and rules. What if you are a king but do not consider yourself a king? Living like a beggar.
Many people do not enjoy it because they do not appreciate the value, identity, and status given to them. I want you to believe that God created each of us as a special being and with a special status.
How did you say here?
The first is to be considered "dead to sin."
Dear brothers and sisters, what does it mean to be dead? Doesn't that mean that the relationship has been cut off? Now it doesn't matter anymore. He who is dead to sin has nothing to do with sin. The law of the living does not apply to the dead. No matter how terrifying a cancerous mass is, it can no longer parasitize on a dead body.
When Martin Luther, the Reformer, fell asleep one evening, he had a gut feeling that an evil spirit was at the feet of his bed. Luther lit a candle to confirm his identity and declared, "Well, Satan, it was only you." Luther blew out the candle again and fell asleep.
We must always live by proclaiming and acknowledging ourselves. How do the dead sin? cannot sin. Because you think you've lived, you keep sinning. With what attitude and behavior should we live when sinful impulses and temptations lie before us? "I am already dead to sin. I have nothing to do with that anymore. Satan, no matter how much you tempt me, I am dead to sin!" You have to live like this. "I declare that all who hold me captive are dead, the power of sin is broken and dead."
Second, he said, “Consider living to God in Christ Jesus.”
In our Jesus Christ, we must live as living to God. To God, the living means that they are not governed by the law of sin and death, but are governed and governed by the law of God, that is, the law of the soul of life. It was different when we were outside Christ Jesus. At that time, we had nothing to do with Jesus. A man possessed by a demon said to Jesus, "What has it to do with you and me?" Likewise, when we were outside Christ Jesus, we had nothing to do with God. Rather, he was alive to sin. But now it's different. We have become living to God. It means that we have become a being who lives only in relationship with God. I have become a person who lives only by looking at God.
The believer does not need to think that he is 'dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus', but must do so. This is because the event that has become so is the event that made the saints into such status. Therefore, the word 'here' does not mean to think of a non-real event as if it were real, but rather to grasp a real event and hold fast to it.
That's right. In this way, we too must grasp real events and hold fast to them. Of course we are short. It is fragile. That is why, even in small things, he is prone to anger, anger, envy, and jealousy. Still, there is one thing we must not forget. We have passed from death to life, and now we live as children of God the Father as heirs of Jesus Christ. Even if you are beaten, you will be beaten by God, and you will be disciplined as a child. "In the same way, you too… consider it." I bless you in the name of the Lord to live here.
