Title: Created for a Mission
Text: John 20:21
While studying the life of life, I explained that faith is building a relationship with God and with people through the Word. This relationship can also be described this way. The relationship with God is only one relationship, but the relationship with man is two relationships. In other words, because we are called to be members of the body of Christ, we have two relationships: serving other members in the body of Christ and serving unbelievers on earth outside of the body of Christ.
Serving members in the body of Christ is called ministry, and serving non-believers outside the body of Christ is defined as mission. God wants us to handle both of these relationships.
Jesus clearly understood all of this ministry and mission, and he took it as such. When I was 12 years old, I went up to Jerusalem and discussed with the teachers of the law, saying that I must do my father’s work (Luke 2:49). I showed you how to live life correctly according to the purpose of In other words, Jesus accomplished all the work and mission that the Father had given him.
After fulfilling God's purpose, Jesus gave us the mission he had on this earth. He called us to be the body of Christ and commanded us to continue the work that He took on in the flesh. “As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you” (John 20:21). God saves us and reaches others through us. God saved us and sent us. We became ambassadors on behalf of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20) and messengers to announce God's love and purpose to the world.
1. Why Our Mission Matters
The essence of our life is to live for the glory of God as messengers. That is what completes our mission. When we understand why this mission is so important, we will gain greater strength in carrying out our mission and we will be more passionate about it.
1) Continuing the mission of Jesus
When Jesus summarized the Law and the Prophets, he called them love of God and love of neighbor. We call this the Great Commandment. Jesus, who made the great commandments known, gave us the great (great) command. It is to make disciples of all nations. This is the command given to all followers of Jesus, and most importantly. This command is not a choice, but it is a mission that must be done by those who are called into God's family.
Some of us may not be aware of this responsibility. But that is very unfortunate. Because I cannot carry out my mission, and if the person who should hear the gospel through me does not hear it, I must take responsibility for that person's death. (Ezekiel 3:18) We tell some people that they are the only Christians they know. It might be. Our mission is to tell them about the gospel of the kingdom like Jesus did.
2) Because our mission is a great privilege
The mission we have been given is a heavy responsibility. But it is a great honor and a great privilege. Because its mission is to work with God and to represent God. God saved us, welcomed us into our family, gave us the Holy Spirit, and made us His representatives on this earth. That is why Paul called us ambassadors working on behalf of Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, and we implore you on behalf of Christ, as God exhorts you through us. Reconcile with him.)
3) Because it is the greatest thing you can do for others
Our neighbor has a terrible disease called AIDS, and it would be a great crime to hide that life-saving information while I knew the cure. But a sin even worse than this is to keep the path of forgiveness, peace, eternal life, and purpose a secret. We know the best news in the world. Sharing this with others is the greatest kindness we can offer.
As we continue our religious life for a long time, becoming insensitive to the despair of life without Christ becomes a problem. So at this point we need to remember again the truth that everyone needs Jesus. Everyone needs Jesus, whether or not people seem to lead successful and satisfying lives. Without Christ, they fall into despair and live forever separated from God. So, to guide us about Jesus is the greatest thing we can do.
4) because it has eternal significance
Our messenger mission will have a profound impact on the eternal destiny of others. So, knowing about Jesus is more important than any goal that person will achieve in the world. Because it is about eternity.
There is nothing more important than helping others build an eternal relationship with God. This is why we must hurry to fulfill our mission. It is still daytime, and we must do the work of him who sent me. When the night comes, no one can work at that time (John 9:4). The time in our lives to carry out our mission is getting shorter and shorter. So don't delay any longer. You need to reach out to someone right now. We can celebrate forever with the person who brought us back to Jesus. However, the time you can reach them is limited to your time on this earth.
God wants us to share the gospel wherever we are. Whatever we do, he wants us to share the gospel along the way. Therefore, we must constantly seek out God's lost children and preach the gospel.
5) Because it gives meaning to our lives
The best way to live our lives is to do things that will outlast our lives. It is the kingdom of God that lasts longer than our lifetime or even the age of this earth. Everything else will be gone. So we must live a life that is guided by God's purpose. We must live a life dedicated to the messenger mission given to us on this earth.
Since September of last year, I have told you like a whip that I have not been able to preach directly on comfort, encouragement, courage, and praise, and that you must continue to do so. Because that's more important than anything else. What is more important to me than listening to a sermon of comfort and gaining strength is to find God's purpose and to live a life led by God's purpose. That way, even if I am not comforted, I stand on my own as a person who comforts others.
If we do not fulfill our God-given messenger mission, we are wasting our God-given life. There are people that only us can reach out to. Therefore, I must visit my personal mission field, pray, and share the gospel.
6) Because it is according to God's time schedule
Everyone is interested in the second coming of Jesus and the end of the world. If Jesus were in front of me now, everyone would want to ask the last question Jesus' disciples asked Jesus just before his ascension. The disciples wanted to know the time and deadline for the kingdom of God, but Jesus said that the answer to that question is the Father's authority and is not for you to know. He told you to focus on the messenger mission you received on this earth (Acts 1:7-). 8) What you should be interested in is not about the Second Coming, but the mission given to you.
Jesus made it clear about that day and that hour. “This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14). Therefore, our preaching of the gospel is closely related to God's time schedule. It is according to God's time schedule.
3. The price to be paid to fulfill the mission
We must let go of our goals and accept God's plan for our lives. Don't waste my resources doing everything we want to do. Like Jesus, we must say that we do not want my will to be done, but we want the Father's will to be done (Luke 22:42). We must yield to God all our rights, expectations, dreams, plans and ambitions. We need to stop praying selfishly, “God, please help me do what I do” and pray, “Help me do what pleases God.” But we must present ourselves to God as those who have been raised from the dead, and our members as instruments of righteousness to God.
If we dedicate ourselves to fulfilling our messenger mission at any cost, we will experience the amazing power of God we have never experienced before. “Seek ye first his kingdom and his righteousness. And all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33).
If we want to receive and share the blessings God gives us, and if we really want to be used by God, we must focus on what God cares about. What God cares most about is finding lost children. Nothing is more important to God than this. Finding lost souls is more important than church revival and growth. The cross proves this. Jesus died on the cross to find the lost children of God. Therefore, I must always work hard and pray to find even one more member of God's lost family, no matter what the sacrifice. And God will welcome you as a good and faithful servant and give you praise and rewards.
I pray in the name of the Lord that we all become channels of blessing that please God the most as we all focus on my messenger mission.
