◎ Introduction
: In this text, the three friends, whether appointed as officials of Judah along with Daniel, are thrown into the fire because they do not obey the king's orders.
※ They profess the belief that they cannot bow down to idols at any cost despite the king's conciliation and threats.
※ Despite the king's threats and conciliation, regarding the firm faith of these three men, God rescued them from the blazing fire once again.
He revealed the glory of God to the foreign land.
1. He was sued for not bowing to the gods. (8-12)
※ There were people who did not bow down to the golden image set up by the king (8)
※ “Some Chaldeans came and accused the men of Judah.”
① The “Jews” are Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
* This indicates that the Chaldeans did not have a good feeling for the youth of Judah.
② “accusation” means “to tear into pieces”.
* Rather than taking issue with them for breaking the king's law, he had already felt bad for these young Jews.
When a complaint arises, it shows that he had evil intentions.
※ The words of the Chaldeans are so coherent that on the surface they seem to come from true loyalty to the king. (9-12)
1) You can see the contemptuous attitude towards Daniel and his friends. (12)
※ Regarding the appointment of a Jew who was a prisoner of war from being called “a Jew”
What was disapproved was expressed as it was.
2) How can you despise the king when the king has appointed them as officials? (12)
※ The phrase “the king was not exalted” meant that he did not respect him at all, and was intentionally arousing the feelings of the king.
※ The reason they did not bow down to the image was an act of ignoring and contempt for the king despite showing undeserved favors to the captives.
It was driven, because they were determined to destroy the youth of Judah.
3) It emphasizes the fact that it was deliberately disobeyed. (12)
※ The reason the three did not bow to the golden image was for religious reasons, not against the king. nevertheless let the king harbor wrath against them
To encourage is to plot.
※ The accusations of the Chaldeans expose their envy and jealousy toward the youth of Judah.
① This is because, as a prisoner of war, he was hired as an official and was in a position to rule even the Chaldeans.
② This is because he was more favored by the king by performing his duties with integrity and fairness.
※ I was always displeased, but I couldn't find fault with it, but when I disobeyed the king's command by not bowing to the statue, it could put them in a corner.
took it as an opportunity.
