Title Daniel's Faith (Daniel 6:10-28)
Contents
“When Daniel knew that this decree had been signed, he went back to his house and looked at the window that was opened toward Jerusalem in that room, and three times a day he knelt down and prayed and gave thanks to God, just as he had done before” (Daniel 6:10).
Man must be an animal and not an animal. They are animals, but they must not live like animals, they must not think like animals, and they must never be treated as animals.
There are differences between humans and animals. What's different? They are able to walk upright, to speak and write, and to use tools and containers.
But a more noble characteristic of man is that he can laugh.
You animals don't know how to laugh. How disgusting and frightening would it be if an animal came to you with laughter and laughter?
Reaction and response are not the same thing.
Animals have a reaction, not a response.
If you hit it, it will bite you and bite you. It is conditional. Of course, people respond that it is hot when it is hot and that it is cold when it is cold. An immediate response to an external stimulus occurs.
Pain and suffering are different. Pain is a reaction. Pain is the answer.
Hungry is a response and sad is a response. There is a difference between believers and non-believers.
A believer is a person who responds, not just a person who responds.
The protagonist of today's text is the prophet Daniel. Daniel The name means ‘My God is the Judge.’ He judges not only his people Israel, but also the Gentiles.
Now, because Judah sinned against God, he was taken to the kingdom of Babylon and became a captive. It is God's judgment. However, Babylon, who is tormenting Judah, is judged by God and hands over the power to Darius the king of Persia. King Darius of Pasa had three prime ministers. Among them, Daniel was very agile and outperformed other prime ministers and princes. Other prime ministers and princes were jealous of him and plotted to get rid of him. No matter how much I search, I can't find anything wrong with Daniel. So they went to the king and made a decree that said that if you pray to a god or a person other than the king, you will be thrown into the lion's den.
Now, what about Daniel? God is my judge. Here, Daniel's faith is thoroughly tested. Untested faith cannot be trusted.
In this crisis situation, Daniel shines with the glory of God. What is Daniel's faith?
1. It is prayerful faith.
Daniel was unaware that he could go into the lions' den and die. But he continued to pray.
(Daniel 6:10) “When Daniel knew that this decree had been signed, he went back to his house and went to Jerusalem in the room and from the open window he got on his knees three times a day, praying and giving thanks to God, as he had done before.
Only a person of faith who prays can give thanks even in the midst of crisis. It is the grace he received through prayer that he was able to give thanks and give the last glory to God.
Daniel prayed “as he had done before.” The Apostle Paul said, “Pray without ceasing.” Samuel said, “I will not commit the sin of ceasing in prayer.”
It can be a personal crisis right now. It can also be a national crisis. A person who prays like Daniel is required. We need people who pray like Moses. Those who pray have joy, and only those who have joy can give thanks.
How much do you pray? Has anyone stopped praying? Please start praying now. The second half of 2004 begins. For the remainder of the period, special prayers were lit.
Let's pray for the church. Let's pray for our country. Let's pray for the family. Let's pray for the future. Prepare now for the 40-day early morning prayer meeting for the blessing of Mount Horeb, which begins on October 11th. The future is on the side of those who pray. God will bless that future.
It is our belief that nothing can be done without prayer.
2. It is a grateful faith.
I don't know how I could thank you for knowing that I was going to be in the lion's den. This is Daniel's faith beyond our imagination. Daniel's thanks is definitely an absolute thanks. We usually give a relative appreciation. It's extremely conditional. A person of relative gratitude who is conditional and reflexive cannot give thanks in the midst of a crisis like Daniel did.
If you are grateful for what you have, you will regret if you do not. If you are thankful for living, you will resent when you die.
Are you grateful if you are well and resentful if you are poor? This is not beyond the level of a conditioned animal.
-There can be no joy without prayer, and there is no thanksgiving without joy.- Only prayer causes true gratitude and sincere gratitude.
Even if you didn't succeed, be thankful if you lived a good life.
Even if you don't have a lot of income, be honest.
Did you lose a lot? But if you have gained that noble faith, be grateful.
In the name of the Lord, I bless you all who regard glory as a greater blessing than possessions and holiness as a greater blessing than longevity.
Please believe that it is true faith to consider righteous death more blessed than the glory of wealth.
