I. I saw the second vision (1-3).

A. It was in the 3rd year of King Belshazzar.

2. In verse 2, it is said that they saw it on the banks of the Eullae River. Shushan of Elamdo was the capital of Basanara. The river flowing through this area was the Ullae River. It contains a spiritual lesson. Daniel's body was now under the control of King Belshazzar, but his spirit led him far away to the banks of the Ullae River in Susanseong.

3. Daniel received his first vision in a dream. However, the second vision was “Eullae Riverside”.

B. God's work is catalytic.

1. Daniel was in Babylon. He didn't come because he wanted to. It was like some kind of prisoner. And he had to serve the king of a foreign country he had no heart for.

2. However, God's natural providence led him spiritually and led him to Shushan in Elamdo.

3. Likewise, God is always with the saints. And at the right time, he gives you the guidance you need.

II. It was a vision of a ram and a goat (3-14).

A. The two-horned ram

1. This sheep was standing by the Eullae River. It wasn't Babylon. The Eullae River was Basanara.

It was a sheep with two horns, which meant that the two nations would unite into one. Mede and Persia meant oneness.

2. The horns were very long. It means long power. However, the horn that came out later was longer. And the horn that came out earlier was crushed. It meant that the kingdom of King Cyrus would exert more powerful rulership than that of King Darius.

3. Verse 4 prophesied that the ram would rule the world. invincible The power of the Persian Empire was so powerful. He ruled Europe, parts of Africa, and Western Asia.

B. One-horned goat (5-14).

1. This goat appeared from the west. This was Hela. Hela is west of Persia. No matter how swift and valiant he was, his feet never touched the ground. This was the army of Alexander the Great.

2. It is said that there was a remarkable horn between the two eyes of the goat, which meant strong power and insight. The goat targeted and attacked a single two-horned ram. “The ram fell to the ground and trampled it, but no one was able to get it out of his hand.”

3. It describes in detail how Alexander the Great, the great king of Greece, will overthrow the Mede and Persian empires with his ambition to conquer the world. Alexander was only 20 years old when he set out to conquer the world. He conquered the Persian Empire at the age of 26. That's why he said, "The closer you get to the ram, the more angry you get

The prophecy was fulfilled.

4. Four horns came out of the male goat. This goat had one horn. But here came four horns. This prophesied that the kingdom would be divided into four after Alexander's death.

1) Alexander was violent. and occupied neighboring countries at will.

2) It is said that the great horn was broken when he was strong, but it is a prophecy of what Alexander's death will be like. He died at a young age. He died suddenly at the age of 33. However, all of his children to inherit the throne died in the struggle for power.

3) After Alexander's death, about 20 men fought each other claiming that they were Alexander's successors. This wind divided the country into four.

C. Small horns (9-12).

1. The little horn is the word that prophesies the emergence of Antioco Epiphane, who is called the tetrarch Herod. While imprisoned in Rome with his father, he fled and became king. But he had no qualifications to be king.

2. This little horn said in verse 9, “And it grew exceedingly great toward the glorious land.” That is, they invaded Judea and tormented the land. Verse 10 says that some of the army and the stars fell to the ground and trampled them down. This is a prophecy that God's people will suffer in the future.

3. In verse 10, it is said that some of the army and the stars fell to the ground and trampled on them. The heavenly army refers to the leaders of the church. Antiochus Epiphanes tortured and killed the old Eleazar and his seven brothers for not eating pork and not bowing down to idols.

4. In the words of 13-14, the period of activity of the little horn is 2300 days. 6 years 3 months 15 days. This prophecy later came true in the Maccabees.
