There are many times when we are faced with unexpected difficulties in our life of faith. Even though I have tried hard to lead a life of faith, I am hated and heartbroken by people. What should we do in such a situation?

1. Daniel recognized by the king (verse 2)

Darius reorganized the country's administrative system, appointing 120 high-ranking officials, and above them three prime ministers, including Daniel. It is surprising that Daniel was able to maintain a high office at a time when it was customary for a nation's key figures to be killed when a nation fell. Besides, Daniel was an elderly man over 80 at the time. This was evidence of the excellence of Daniel's wisdom and economy, and was fundamentally God's providence to protect Israel and reveal his sovereignty over the world through Daniel. In this way, God protects and guides His faithful people to the end, regardless of the changing times or circumstances.

2. Daniel found no blemish (v. 4)

King Darius's appointment of Daniel as prime minister made him the object of jealousy among many. It is only natural that Daniel, who was born in captivity and was a bureaucrat of the Babylonian Empire, became the object of envy and jealousy when he became the supreme prime minister of the conquered Medo-Persian Empire. They try to sue Daniel, but they find nothing wrong or faulty. Those who do not know God make the saints a target for attack just because they are God's people. What matters then is how to overcome envy and jealousy. The saints must keep the fidelity of their faith and must not show their faults.

3. The dignitaries who conspire with Daniel (v. 7)

The dignitaries, unable to find fault with Daniel, try to use Daniel's faith to cause difficulties. They knew that Daniel would choose loyalty to God between loyalty to God and loyalty to the king. So, for 30 days, only the king should be worshiped, and no other kings or gods should be worshiped. He even received the final approval of the king and informed the whole country of the enforcement of the ordinance. They can't be really mean people. They were trying to kill an honest, competent, and personable person like Daniel for their own benefit. Satan will not leave those who do this holy work of God. Therefore, as people of God, we must always be spiritually alert and awake.

Daniel fell into a great conspiracy. Even believers may face difficulties when they try to faithfully believe in God or do God's work diligently. Therefore, only when we are armed with the full armor of Christ can we overcome all trials and difficulties.
