The trials and tribulations that the saints face must come to an end. God will make clear right and wrong in the last days. Therefore, the saints must have patience to the end and trust in God. The text is the story of the end of Daniel and his opponents, who remained in the faith.
1. Judgment against those who harmed Daniel (verse 24)
The conspiracy of the opponents who tried to kill Daniel by accusing him innocently and putting him in a lion's den was exposed to the world. Daniel's righteousness was proved by God raising Daniel from the lion's den. The God who judges and judges all things will now judge the conspirators. They will be judged for corrupting the righteous Daniel and blaspheming God. This time, it came to the point of going into the lions' den where Daniel had entered. No one will work for their salvation. Through this event, the God of salvation is revealed once again. In the end, the unrighteous and those who persecute the saints will be judged by God.
2. Darius issuing the decree (verse 25)
The king announces a new decree to all the people. The new decree was that Daniel should serve the God he believed in. The decree contains the content that God is alive and omnipotent, claims human life and death, and is a miracle worker, so we should serve Him. King Darius, a Gentile, realized the existence of God and became afraid. King Darius commanded the people to serve the God whom Daniel believed and served. Gentiles also realize, acknowledge, and praise the existence of God, but what should we as Christians do? How do we serve a God whom even unbelievers acknowledge? Take a look at yourself.
3. Daniel found peace (verse 28)
The first wave of trials that came to Daniel has passed. Daniel, who was in a dire situation where he could have suffered an unfair death, won the test with faith and gave all glory to God. Peace came to Daniel after going through the ordeal. He prospered from the reign of Darius to the reign of Cyrus. Daniel, who thought he was going to die, was able to enjoy prosperity for a long time because the prophecy was fulfilled that anyone who trusts in God will be blessed and prosper. Jesus also said to his disciples, “I give you a wonderful peace that is completely different from the peace of the world.” We too are promised the peace that the Lord gives us. I hope that you will become a saint who enjoys wonderful peace by relying only on the Lord and living in Him.
Everyone faces crises in life. How you overcome a crisis reveals whether you are a true believer or not. How will we respond when faced with a crisis? Like Daniel, I pray that you will live a prosperous life by trusting in God's work and guidance.
<Prayer>
