Title DAY 6. Life is temporary.
Contents
(summary)
* Two things to remember to make the most of life
Life on this earth is very short compared to eternal life.
Earth is a place where we live temporarily.
So, don't be overly attached to the things of this earth and pray that you will be able to see it from God's point of view.
Our identity is in eternal life and our homeland is Heaven (Philippians 3:19-20)
When we realize this fact, we can give up the ‘possession and attachment to everything’ in this world.
Living in friendship with the world is spiritual adultery. (Rev 4:4)
* The change that comes with realizing that life is temporary
1. Knowing that he is an ambassador for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20)
The house on this earth is not our house. We are like those appointed as ambassadors for our enemies
Therefore, we should not be immersed in the pleasures of the world. We must control the lusts of the flesh so that we do not lose our mind to the things of the world. We must not allow the pleasures of the world to dominate our lives.
2. On this earth, we experience difficulties, sorrows, and rejection.
The reason is that life in this world is not the end,
It is because God has placed a considerable amount of dissatisfaction in our lives so that we do not love the world too much.
Longings that cannot be satisfied in this world will be satisfied in the eternal kingdom of heaven.
3. You will have a sense of value in which eternal values are the fundamental standard.
2 Corinthians 4:18
For we look not to the seen, but to the unseen, for what is seen is temporary, but what is not seen is eternal.
You will not focus on your temporary success on this earth.
“Millions of faithful people were martyred, lost everything, and ended their lives with nothing to offer. But the end of life here is not the end.”
“All these men died of the faith and did not receive the promise, but seeing them from afar, welcoming them, and testifying that they were foreigners and sojourners on earth... Now they long for a better homeland, which is in heaven. He was not ashamed to be called their God; He prepared a city for them” (Hebrews 11:13, 16).
That is why we need faith to live on this earth.
And death means we don't leave home, but return to our real home.
(contemplation)
One.
It seems that we cannot judge what God is like in this world by what we see with our own eyes. He is by no means unfair, and we are often faced with situations in the world that seem unreasonable and unfair, as if there is no God. However, since life on this earth is not the end, God is just as He said in the Bible. And He is the God who wants to bring about justice and fairness on this earth. There were times when I doubted the character of God with the visible reality because I could not know the things of eternal life with my short wisdom, but rather than judging my knowledge of not knowing what eternity is, I believe in the eternal Word of God. side is wise
2.
I briefly read Blessed are those who mourn, but I read the part where Director Kim Woo-hyun realized about the missionaries who did not get any fruit.
As God regards a woman with lust in their heart as an adulteress, it did not bear any fruit, but I learned that those who lived on this earth with the heavenly kingdom in their heart had already achieved the kingdom of heaven...
If you hope, believe, cherish deeply in your heart, from that moment on, you will think that it becomes a reality on the part of God.
Even if you don't see any fruit on this earth...
3.
It really touches my heart to say that he welcomes those who have died because they did not receive a promise and that he is not ashamed to be called their God, who welcomes those who have died according to their faith, prepares a city for them, and is not ashamed to be called their God. good our God. In the world, they are like failures and fools, so being called their God may be called the God of failures, but a God who is not ashamed of it. A good person who is willing to be my God.
