It can be seen that the sender of this letter is Peter in a 1:1 ratio.
As we know, Peter was from Bethsaida (John 1:44). He met Jesus and confessed the right faith, so he got the name 'Peter'. His father was called Jonah (Matthew 16:17) or John (1 John 1:42), and his younger brother was Andrew. Later, their brother met Jesus (John 1:40-42) and was called by the Lord to become a son of Jesus.
Although he was chosen among the 12 apostles (Matthew 10:2), he was one of the three disciples whom Jesus loved. He was praised for professing his true faith in Jesus, but he was a disciple with a very weak side as a person who denied knowing Jesus three times. However, he was a great apostle who received the baptism and fullness of the Holy Spirit after the coming of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost and greatly revitalized the Jerusalem church. It is said that he toured Joppa, Samaria, and Antioch of Caesarea to preach the gospel. It is said that Paul disappeared from the forefront of preaching the gospel and was martyred during the great persecution of Nero (AD 54-68).
This 1 Peter refers to the strangers who were scattered in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, that is, the Jews scattered in Asia Minor.
The place where this epistle was written appears as Babylon in 5:13, and in a symbolic sense it refers to the Roman Empire that held a campaign over Babylon (Rev 17:18), so it was written from the end of AD 63 to the beginning of 64 AD when Peter arrived in Rome. talking about it.
This epistle is written to encourage believers in tribulation to overcome impending persecution and to comfort believers in all kinds of difficulties.
In this epistle, Peter urged believers in tribulation to have faith and hope that they would be able to cope with hardships and trials without weakening them by providing them with a network of oxygen from Jesus Christ.
This letter contains many Christian doctrines.
Then today, let's share the grace with the words from verses 3 to 12.
In verse 3, Peter says, “Blessed be they.”
Following the greeting to the recipient, Peter tells him to sing praises to God.
Verse 3 - Blessed be, what is to be praised?
① God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, according to his great mercy
through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead
be born again to a living hope,
(2) To inherit an inheritance that is incorruptible, undefiled, and does not fade.
- what is reserved in heaven for you
③ Verse 5 - To obtain the salvation prepared to be revealed in the last days - Future salvation
Through Faith - God's Condition of Salvation
You are protected by the power of God - God who protects you with power
㉧ Those who have been born again, having the oxygen network, receive the inheritance that is incorruptible, undefiled, and does not fade.
The Israelites received the land of Canaan as an inheritance, but we received the eternal kingdom of heaven.
Verse 6 - So that you will no longer be grieved for a little while because of various trials.
I couldn't, but I rejoice greatly.
Various exams - Saints' worries / Will I do well?
If you win, you will be happy, but if you fail, you will be sad.
Verse 7 - That the trial of your faith, more precious than gold that perishes, even though it is tried by fire, may be found to praise, glory, and honor at the appearing of Jesus Christ.
The trial of our faith is more precious than perishable gold. / Obtaining the praise, glory, and honor of the eternal Jesus
** Various tests will come when you are living your life of faith. Difficulties in life come with business and other things that your children are worried about.
However, the temptation the devil brings is to destroy us, but we must accept it with joy that God tests us. Because God's test is to test us to lead us to greater and greater blessings. He put Abraham to the test, saying, “Now I know that you fear me.”
Please remember that Abraham, who passed the test of God, became the father of faith.
Verse 8 - You have not seen him, but you love him; you do not see him now, but believe and say
rejoice with a glorious joy that cannot be
---->Blessed are those who believe in Jesus without seeing Him.
John 20:29 Jesus said to them, "Do you believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and believe."
Therefore, there is no need to be discouraged because you have not seen Jesus. This is because we see through the written Bible and through the eyes of faith. All things that we believe in and accept that Jesus died on the cross for us are to be seen with the eyes of faith, and even if we do not see Jesus in person, it is a greater blessing to us.
Verse 9 - For the end of faith is the salvation of souls.
Romans 1:17 “But the righteous will live by faith”
Verse 10 - Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied the grace that would come to you
diligently look
CF. Gal 3:11 Heb 10:38 Hab 2:4
Verse 11 - The Spirit of Christ who was in him gave him the sufferings he suffered and the glory he had afterward.
I testified in advance, and pondered which hour and what time He was referring to.
Isaiah the prophet
Verse 12 - It was revealed by revelation that this service was not for you, but for you.
These were those who preached the gospel by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven.
I have told you, and the angels want to see it.
“Revelation is the work of the Holy Spirit.” 2 Timothy 3:16/2 Peter 1:21
We should give thanks and praise to God who redeemed us and made us born again. Because I, who was dead in our sins and trespasses, made us alive by the mercy of God.
May you be glorified forever. And he gave us the eternal, incorruptible things of heaven and made them our inheritance. And God has protected us by His power. Therefore, we should live a life that gives thanks and glory to the grace of God who protects us.
And in the name of Jesus, I ask that you become a saint who endures various trials and overcomes them, truly pleases God, passes God's test and enjoys God's blessings.
