Title definition as sewage (Amos 05:21-27)
Contents Corruption and corruption in the days of Amos were the same not only for the wealthy but also for the powerful. Amos 3:10 says, “Those who indulge in violence and extortion in their palaces do not know how to do right, saith the Lord.” And while they abused the poor, their lives were lavish. Amos 6:3-6 says, “You draw near to a place of violence, saying that the ugly days are far away; you lie down on ivory tables, stretch out on your beds, you take lambs from sheep’s bread and calves from the pen, and eat them, and choke to the melody of the lyre Like David, he makes musical instruments for himself, drinks wine from his bowls, anoints himself with precious oil, and is not grieved over the affliction of Joseph.” The era of prosperity and stability achieved by King Jeroboam was the era of the ugliest history of injustice, violence, lawlessness and corruption in the history of the nation, and it was the era of Amos. In this era, Prophet Amos dug into the field of life of the people and cried out for social justice. His mission was to criticize the corrupt royal family and wealthy, to encourage the oppressed poor, to defend the oppressed masses, and to restore lost humanity.
1. Amos' Social Justice
3. Realizing a just society is one of the important slogans of our country. How can we achieve this slogan?7 When public law and justice flow like sewage, our country can become a more compassionate society.
(1) It must be a law of justice. Partisan, undemocratic, black shouldn't be a National Assembly that makes laws convenient to dictatorship. In that regard, God-fearing and conscientious members of parliament should be elected and look after the country. As a legislative body, the National Assembly should not be a government-centered institution and not a people-centered institution. Members of Parliament must remember that they must work for the welfare of the people as a whole.
(2) The administration of justice. Public officials who rule the people in accordance with the law must always strive to be fair and honest, avoid bribes, and conduct an impartial and impartial administration without being drawn to personal feelings, local colors, or partiality. We will do away with the rotten remnants of the old times, the ideology of civil servants, and keep in mind that civil servants are literally the public servants of the people, and we will conduct all administration without self-interest. It is regrettable that the right public servants have the right attitude to run an administration in which all members of the National Assembly and common people, public officials and the public can receive the same treatment.
(3) The judicial administration of justice. Careful attention is required to ensure that all peoples are treated equally under the law. In particular, we must ensure that human rights are respected and judicial administration can be implemented as a practical cultural state. All the people are hoping for a judicial administration in which the human rights of a fair trial are not violated.
(4) The golden rule necessary to achieve a just society is Matthew 7:12, “Therefore, treat others as you would like others to treat you.” A just society is not achieved only through the cry of the mouth. If all the people think about what kind of treatment I want to be treated and do it, and if the public thinks about what kind of treatment they want me to be treated as a civil servant, I will naturally build a relationship based on justice. Now, our country wants to become a country where God's will is unfolded. It is said that there was never a day of sunset where the British flag (Union Jack) went due to the revival of the Puritan religious spirit and the Bible Society during the time of Queen Victoria in England. With Amos' social justice realization, it is time for the church to do this for the country.
