When a murder occurs, the perpetrator is liable for both criminal and civil liability. The problem is when you can't be held responsible for the murder because you don't know who the culprit is. Who is responsible for the sin in this case?
1. Sin and Responsibility (verses 3-4)
If there is clear evidence of murder and cannot be held legally and spiritually responsible for it, then it is clearly a distortion of justice. God made a third person responsible for the murder when this happened. The being is the heifer of the castle closest to the corpse of the dead. This work is done by the elders and priests of the city. This means that dealing with criminals is a shared responsibility of society. Sin necessarily requires responsibility for it. This is God's justice. We must remember that we are all accountable for what happens in the Church and in the State.
2. Jesus Christ, the ransom offering (verse 8)
Responsibility lies with the person who committed the crime. When you don't know who that person is, you have a shared responsibility. In the case of murder where the murderer is unknown, a heifer is the victim. The heifer must never have worked and has never been yokeed. The place where the heifer dies is also a valley through which a stream flows, which is neither tilled nor planted. Here, the heifer typifies Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind. Jesus without blemish took away the sins of sinners and became the sacrifice for atonement. We have atonement because of Jesus. There are many unfair and distorted deaths in this land we live in. We are responsible for all of this. I hope you will remember the love of Jesus on the cross, consider the sins of others as your own, and become believers who repent.
3. Regulations on women taken into captivity (verses 10-14)
The loot earned by winning a war usually belongs to the victor. Even over people, the winner can exercise dominance. The Bible allows a captive woman to perform a sanctification ceremony if she likes her and wants to marry her. She shaves her hair, cuts her nails, changes her clothes, and gives her a period of mourning for her parents. Culturally and emotionally, it is a symbolic act that marks a break from the previous life and dedicates it to a new life. God wants the saints to be different before and after they accept Jesus. Life after receiving Jesus must be holy. Let us distinguish and sanctify so that everything in our lives can have a holy inner and outer appearance.
Humans live in communities. Therefore, responsibility for what happened within the community rests with the community. When we work together to solve not only the joys and sorrows of the community but also our sins, we can have a good influence on the world. We are also freed from sin because of Christ. I hope that the lives we enjoy were given by someone's sacrifice, and we hope that you will become believers who live with gratitude.
