Sermons for Preaching

Title Differences in Words / Proverbs 15:1-4

- Emphasizes the importance of words

##### 1. What does the wise man say?

1) Let go of anger

Verse 1: A gentle answer turns away anger, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

People are supposed to speak what their heart is full of. In other words, what you have in mind is what you say.

--Matt 12:34...< You brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For the mouth speaks out of the abundance of the heart.>

2) Giving knowledge kindly.

Verse 2: “The tongue of a wise person imparts knowledge, and the mouth of a foolish person pours out foolishness.”

--So believers are careful with what they say.

Proverbs 15:28...<The heart of the righteous ponders what to say, but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil.>

That's why believers say healing.

In verse 4 of the text, the word <a gentle tongue> appears. This is what it means to be a “healing tongue”.

That's why Proverbs 16:24 says, "Good words are like honeycombs, sweet to the heart and healing to the bones."

--Proverbs 18:4...<The words of the mouth of a man of understanding are like deep waters, and the fountains of wisdom are like flowing streams.

--Deuteronomy 32:2...< My teaching is the falling rain, My words are the dewdrops, the falling rain on the tender grass, the sweet rain on the greens.>

It should be a word of healing to the wounded. This is the language life of the saints. However, if our words hurt us, we need to think about it.

##### 2. What does the fool say?

1) Make the oars turbulent.

Verse 1: A gentle answer turns away anger, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

That is why a foolish person is impatient when he speaks and speaks harsh words like stabbing with a knife.

-Proverbs 12:17...< He who speaks the truth shows righteousness, but a false witness speaks deceit.> -Proverbs 12:18...< Or speaks rashly like the stabs of a sword, but the tongue of the wise is good medicine. It's the same.>

--Proverbs 29:20...< Do you see a man who is hasty in his speech? There is more hope in a fool than in him."

--Proverbs 12:17-18...< He who speaks the truth shows righteousness, but a false witness speaks deceit. Or they speak rashly like the stabs of a sword, but the tongue of the wise is like medicine.”

--If there are frequent conflicts and fights where we are, let's check our language life.

2) Pour out foolish things.

James 1:26...<If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue, but deceives his heart, this man's religion is in vain.>

1 Peter 3:10-11...<Therefore, whoever loves life and desires to see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil, and let his lips speak no deceit, depart from evil to do good, seek peace and pursue it.>

James 1:19...<Know this, my beloved brethren, that everyone should be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to become angry.>

There are often cases where my words can change my life.

Let the words of the believer smell.

--Especially, our members speak easily. good at swearing Although not in a bad sense, there are many cases where it is embarrassing to hear.

I wish you a blessed life that speaks well.
