Title Direction of Mind Control

direction of mind control

Text/ Proverbs 4:23, 16:32, 25:28

1. Introduction

The human heart, created by the breath of God, is infinitely mysterious, and it is impossible to say with certainty what the heart is doing. However, it is certain that the mind is involved in the person's 知情意 (designated consciousness) - 四端七情 (seven emotions) -Etos-Patos-Logos. And we know from experience that the mind has a great influence in determining a person's happiness or unhappiness.

The greatness of Sigmund Freud is that he was the first to unearth the unconscious world buried under human consciousness (the issue of interpretation of the unconscious world is a separate issue). The unconscious is like a computer with an infinite capacity that stores what a person has experienced with his eyes + ears + nose + tongue + body + sixth sense, whether conscious or not.

However, man is a being within the limits of his own experience. Therefore, when a person encounters a problem, he has almost automatic and instantaneous access to this infinite capacity of experiential computer on which his own conscious and unconscious are recorded, in order to naturally find a solution to the problem. Where will you connect at this time? How will you connect? And what decisions will you make? It is the mind that is in charge of the problem.

2. Therefore, the direction of mind control is important

This is the story of Benjamin Franklin's autobiography, depicted on the US 100 dollar bill. When Franklin was a child, he took a lot of pocket money and went out on the streets on a holiday, and he bought a nice, colorful whistle at a toy store for $10. I happily walked around the neighborhood alleys while blowing a whistle. After a while, I met a friend who came blowing the same whistle. The two worked together and had more fun. Then each of us told us the price of the whistle, and the friend said that he bought it for $5 at the store across the street. At that moment, it was said that the fun so far flew away like the wind, and only the emotions of disappointment, regret, and anger boiled over. It is said that he suffered psychologically and economically as a result of being careless and impatient and connected in the wrong direction (how heartbroken at that time, he wrote his autobiography when he was 78 years old!).

Therefore, the direction of the management of the human mind is very important. Not long ago, Lee Seung-yeop appeared on TV. The moderator said, “Have you ever cried, even Seung-yeop Lee, who is the home run king and famous?” Lee Seung-yeop said, "I'm ashamed, but I cried a lot. When I was pushed out of Japan to the 2nd Army, I called my father, and tears came to my eyes without me knowing. I cried a lot at that time. And I made up my mind. I'm definitely going back to the first team! That's right. And I practiced clenching my teeth while crying.” After that, Lee Seung-yeop soon returned to the first team and became an even better player. If Lee Seung-yeop's direction of mind control is "Oh, this is the end!" If he did, Lee Seung-yeop would have ended there.

3. How should the basic direction of mind control be established?

first. The basic direction of mind control is absolutely irrespective of the actual situation - even if it is intentionally - forced - even if it doesn't make sense - even if it looks very stupid - no matter what other people say - unconditionally close your eyes and unconditionally! It should be in a positive-optimistic-prospective thought form. Be positive - positive - optimistic - hopeful. I think this is the alpha and omega of the direction of mind control, and everything else is incidental.

The Holy Trinity God did this from the beginning of the creation of the heavens and the earth. He said, “It was very good!” Since then, human history has been led by people with positive-active-optimistic minds in all fields such as politics, military, economy, academia, art, science, and sports, and they are, and will always be. How can I list all the witnesses that line up like a cloud in history!

second. The basic direction of mind control is to keep the principle-principle. Is the decisive difference between a developed-civilized country-large country society and a developing country-barbarian country-insignificant small country society a society in which principles and principles work? Or is it an expedient-roughly accepted society? depends on In developed countries, what works for everyone and what doesn't work doesn't work for everyone. In underdeveloped countries, what works is not for anyone, and what cannot be done is for everyone. Man is a spirit creature. It's because I can't speak or because I can't speak, but everyone knows. We are forced to live in an underdeveloped country because we do not have the strength, money, and strength. The heart is that everyone wants to live in a developed country.

Therefore, the first Korean general secretary of the YMCA, Mr. Moonnam 李商在 (Lee Sang-jae Lee in Vietnam: 1850-1927), said, “In this world, we can achieve beyond the principles-principles. Nothing can be done! If you have the mind to do something, your mind can be free enough in the absence of words (萬事無求源理外 一心自在不言中),” he said.

third. The basic direction of mind control is to keep courtesy toward God and humans. It is to imitate the emptying (kenosis) of Jesus Christ (Philippians 2:1-11). Courtesy is essentially emptying your mind. When there is a conflict between our own mind and the mind of another person, we treat them with a respectful attitude - considerate attitude - generosity - yielding attitude - forgiving attitude "to regard others as better than ourselves" (Philippians 2:3).

However, we need to be careful with the word “other” here. The fact is that “others” literally include “my people my parents my wife my husband my children my closest people” as well as other people I consider “others”. The serious family problems today are thought to have arisen from being kind to others while being negligent or even reckless with others. Therefore, the Apostle Paul severely warned, “If anyone does not take care of his relatives, especially his family, he has betrayed the faith and is worse than an unbeliever” (1 Timothy 5:8). “Be polite, especially to my people!” is the word.
