Title Do not blindfold (Colossians 3:22-25)
Contents
The text I read today is said to be the favorite Bible verse of Dr. Albert Schweitzer, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1952 as a doctor in music, medicine, philosophy, and mathematics, and is called the saint of the jungle.
"Do not do it blindly, like those who try to please men, but in sincerity in the fear of the Lord .
Dr. Albat Schweitzer, according to these words, did not do everything blindly like those who try to please people. It was only because he feared the Lord and tried to live with a sincere heart. Because of that, he was able to be respected by everyone. How could it be only Dr. Albat Schweitzer? If everyone lives according to these words, they will surely be valued in the world and will receive an inheritance from the Lord.
In today's text, the word we need to think deeply about is "blinding".
The word "blindfolded" means "to deceive others by making up only the appearance". Blindfolding is like a workaround. Temporary measures and tactics to improvise are the end-of-the-way measures. It should not be overlooked and covered with blindfolds. Then it's going to get messed up again.
We have experienced many times the consequences of blindfolded things. Constructions done by blindfolding Au Apartment, Seongsu Bridge, and Sampoong Department Store caused catastrophe.
If you want to stay long and you want to be recognized consistently, you shouldn't be blindfolded.
Most of the great achievements and successes of human history are the result of diligence and never come for free. Blindfolded people never achieve success. Even if you have achieved success, that success will not last long.
A student can become an honor student if he or she studies hard. If a business person does their best, business will do well. God helps those who do their best. God is a God who helps those who help themselves. There is a saying that intelligence is Gamcheon. If you work hard, you will surely succeed.
There is a person named Baekgok Kim Deuk-shin, a representative poet of the mid-Joseon period. However, Baekgok Kim Deuk-sin was a bookworm. This person has read 10,000 or more books on average. Some books have been read close to 30,000 times.
The reason I read so much was not because I liked reading. His father was a great man and descended from a prestigious family, but he was born with a bad head, so he didn't start learning to read until he was ten. However, progress was not made, such as easily forgetting what was read immediately. So he read the book over and over and came to memorize it.
Not once. One day, while riding a horse with a servant, he heard the sound of a scholar reading from a house, and he paused for a moment to listen. "I'm very familiar with the text, but I can't remember what it is." The servant looked up and asked, "I read this every day, and even the younger ones know, but are you saying that you really don't know?" It was only then that Kim Deuk-shin found out that the article had been read 111,000 times. The servant was also tired and was memorizing one line at a time.
Like this, Kim Deuk-shin was a foolish person who was not very talented. People have recommended many times to give up studying writing, but after 40 years of continuous reading and studying, he became the most outstanding poet of his time. In his own tombstone, he wrote, "Don't limit yourself because your talents are inferior to others. There is no one more stupid and dull than me, but in the end I made it. Everything just depends on trying."
Or, let's say that you succeeded by fortune-telling without doing your best. There will be no joy, no satisfaction, no reward. Let's say you tried your best and failed. It is never a failure. I didn't succeed right now, but because God knows, the Lord is rewarding me in a different way. It'll just be a little bit longer. People who do not want anything for free and live with sincerity can always have hope and be proud.
Let us members be faithful husbands and wives at home. Let's be sincere parents and children. If you do your best at work, you will be loved by your boss. Luke 12:42 says, ?쏻ho is the one who is a wise and faithful steward, and will give his master his servants food at the proper time???The Lord said, ?쏝lessed is the servant when he sees his master doing this when he arrives.??
Someone went to a famous teacher and asked, "How do I live to be happy?", "If you want to be happy for a day, get a haircut, if you want to be happy for a week, buy a car, if you want to be happy for a year, get married. Be sincere," he said. A person who sincerely lives without asking for free can live happily.
May is Family Month. So, it is a socially and ecclesially rich event. Our church also went to a whole school picnic to celebrate Children's Day. Today is the first Sunday of the family month and Children's Sunday, so let's think together about the values and life views of the saints and words that can be used as our motto.
It is said that once upon a time, a king of a certain country summoned wise and competent scholars and ordered them to study the secrets of a well-being for all citizens. They worked hard and devoted themselves to twelve books. But the king rejected it because the portion was too large. After long research and discussion, the research team made six volumes. The wage said that this is too much and that it should be reduced further. Compressed again in one volume. But it was returned again. It was a small thesis, but it was rejected again, and it was the same even if it was reduced to one page. It was so long that the people could not memorize it. So I shortened it and shortened it, leaving only one line left. Then the king rejoiced and said that if the people keep this, they will all live well. It is said that "nothing is free in this world".
An easy way to break a child is to "teach them for free." When parents pour free favors on their children, they are slowly killing their children. We must not forget that doing this is also against the spirit of capitalism. Don't teach your children to live blindfolded. To live like that is to become a person who eventually dies and kills others as well.
In the Joseon Dynasty, the four major routes were free trial in Anbo-myeon. I did not do self-defense because I thought that if I served China, if Japan invaded, China would send an army to fight for Joseon. What happened in the end? Joseon was destroyed by Japan. It is still the same today. You shouldn't have a free trial on security by serving in the United States. If there is a war in Korea, the United States will send troops to protect it, and if the defense is not strengthened, Korea will have no choice but to experience another colony. Even if we eat less than a spoonful of rice, we must strengthen our national defense with our own strength.
Nothing is free. If there is, there must be a black screen hidden in that freebie. Therefore, you should never take it over and over and eat it for free. Among those who are being scammed, it is often because they want something for free. Of course not all are, but most are. If you look at people who are being scammed, most of them are caused by excessive greed. You have been deceived by the promise of giving you more profit than anyone else. It's because people who get notified that they've won an event at a company that I've never contributed to or applied for, and who are frustrated by doing things they shouldn't have wanted for free too. The thought of making more money than you are capable of will eventually lead to morale and painful regrets.
When someone gives me a free gift or gives me too much, there's a good reason. They will ask for a bigger favor or more. It should be free of charge. In order to get something, I must give what I give first.
Getting it for free is of course difficult in itself, but even if you can get it, it won't last long. Even in relationships with people, nothing comes for free. If there is no effort and interest in friends or the opposite sex, it is difficult to develop significantly.
Nothing in the world happens for free. It's all done with time, effort and attention. You have to be on the lookout for things that are free so that you will have no difficulty surviving in this world.
I hope that we, Hankwang Church members, can use the fact that ?쐍othing is free in this world??as their view of life and their motto as they live their lives. And I hope you will teach and instill this in your children you love. ?쏷each a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.??
Don't ask for free. I have to think about how to live and eat according to my hard work. People who like freebies perish. Those who like freebies will one day be at a loss.
When you pray, I hope that you will pray, "Until the last moment, donate what I have earned with my hands and give you the blessing of being able to eat and live with what I have worked for. Please don't pray for free. Don't pray for success in what you do blindly. It is superstition. God, help me to bear much fruit because I did it with sincerity and not blindly. Amen?
