Sermons for Preaching

Title Do You Have Jewels? / Matthew 7:6

Content Do you have jewels? / Matthew 7:6

Key Verse: “Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before swine” (Matthew 7:6).

Word: There was a person who prayed to God with the same content every day. "God! Give me the most precious jewel in the world." Then one day, God gave a voice. "Go outside Dong-gu this evening. A passerby will give you a precious jewel." In the evening, he went out of Dong-gu and met a stranger and asked for some precious stones. The bewildered traveler heard what was going on and gave him the diamond that he had picked up in the forest a few days ago. He returned home with the bail, but somehow he couldn't help but feel reluctant. And the next day, he went back to the stranger and asked for the jewel. the stranger says "No, didn't I give you a diamond yesterday?" Then he said this. "You didn't give me a precious gem. It's because you have a more precious gem than this that you can give me a diamond so freely, isn't it? So give it to me."

How much do we value what we have? A person who does not value what is in my hand will not be able to hold its value. Blessing is, when you are grateful for what you have, what is given to you is definitely a blessing.

Today's Bible tells us not to give anything holy, pearls, to dogs or pigs. This is because dogs and pigs do not know the preciousness and value of the jewel. A jewel is of value only to those who can see it. What's the use of giving the pig a pearl necklace? The same is true. God has given us your most precious thing. First of all, salvation and eternal life through His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, He has given us valuable gifts, both tangible and intangible, that we need to live. And yet, we pretend not to see what I have, and demand another gem. More precious and valuable things are given to those who value, appreciate, and satisfy what they have. Let's check the jewels the Lord has given me today and give thanks. And let's cherish and utilize it beyond its value. Let's have a day where we create the best value with pride in the fact that I am the one the Lord has exchanged with this world.

Prayer: Help me to discover the jewels of God in my hands. Let it be of value to my life, I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
