A woman in the United States put up a newspaper advertisement like this “I gave up my husband. My husband is crazy about golf. A golf set and a dog are also provided.” After seeing these advertisements, the following advice came from 4 women each.
1. "I regretted it after the divorce. Be grateful just to have a husband."
2. "After the divorce, it was very difficult with the child.
3. "I feel so lonely after a divorce, I want a dog as long as it's pretty."
4. "Golf crazy is far better than cheating, just buy it"
Ladies and gentlemen, modern people suffer from gratification deficiency. Recently, Seoul Research surveyed 510 married women in their 30s living in Seoul on their satisfaction with their marriage. In the survey, 80% said they were dissatisfied with their current marriage.
40% of respondents were dissatisfied with their role limited to housework without self-development. And 27% were dissatisfied with family economic difficulties, 10% because of their husband's affair, and 23% with their marriage dissatisfaction with their husbands, particularly differences in mindset and indifference.
Guys, people often tend to be dissatisfied with what they have. And the consequences of dissatisfaction are complaints, dissatisfaction, irritability, and despair. Why are there so many divorces in Korea these days? Because they are never satisfied. They are not satisfied because they do not make a lot of money, and they are not satisfied if they do not do mental and physical love properly.
And after that divorce, I got another spouse, but I am not satisfied with that person again. So, they divorce again and get married... Especially, the tendency of dissatisfaction with modern people who are in better environment than in the past is becoming more and more evident. It is as if the Korean people are suffering from severe gratification deficiency.
It is sometimes found that families that are supposed to be happy enough if they stop are more unhappy than those who live in far worse circumstances. "Your family is happy enough now." And no matter what you say, they won't accept it. The main reason is that a disease called Satisfaction Deficit has entered.
Folks, there is no limit to human greed. When one desire is satisfied, the next will sprout. In other words, if you collect 10 million won, you want to collect 20 million won, if you save 100 million won, you want to collect 200 million won, and there is no limit and no end. If we do not control these greed, we often end up committing sins and perishing.
Why do you keep getting so greedy? Because they do not know how to be content with their current life. Because they do not know how to keep their own fountain and be satisfied with themselves. Regarding this, the Bible says: “He who loves silver is not satisfied with silver, and he who loves abundance is not satisfied with income. This too is in vain” (Ecclesiastes 5:10).
Gentlemen, AIDS is one of the diseases that has been a major problem worldwide. If you get this AIDS, you can end up dying without even being able to overcome even a small illness. And it will bring misfortune to his spouse and children. As such, there are many people who suffer from acquired gratification deficiency syndrome in modern times. There are many people who, in the end, fail to overcome even the slightest ordeal and bring unhappiness not only to themselves, but also to their spouses and their entire family.
Ladies and gentlemen, what is the main cause of the destruction of one generation of the Israelites in the wilderness? Isn't it just satiation deficiency? Even if they give manna from heaven, send quails to feed them, and give them the land of Canaan flowing with milk and honey, aren't they always dissatisfied and only complaining and complaining, and ultimately ruined?
Guys, keep that in mind. Satisfaction deficiency destroys families. The church is destroyed. The country is destroyed. In the end, he himself is destroyed. One of the reasons that the immigrant society is not easy is because of satiation deficiency. Since many immigrants immigrate because they are not satisfied with living in Korea, it is easy to develop a lack of satisfaction deep inside without realizing it.
But guys, you definitely know. Those who live by looking at the earth are not satisfied. In the end, they feel unhappy and live complaining. But there is satisfaction in those who look to the sky and live in possession of the sky. Even if they have less on this earth than others, there is satisfaction in those who live looking to the sky. And there is gratitude and happiness that comes with it.
A rich man in the United States put this ad in the newspaper. “If anyone is truly satisfied with his life, and if he can prove it to me, I will give him a million dollars of my money in cash.”
After seeing this advertisement, a large number of people gathered on the specified date and place. Everyone claimed that they were living a truly satisfying life, and that they were living a supremely happy life. Some claimed that they were happy because they liked their job, while others claimed that they had a satisfying life because their families were doing so well.
And yet, not one of them was able to get a million dollars in the rich man's money. Do you know what the reason is? Because no one has been able to give a clear answer to the single question the rich man asked. The question was: "No, if you're really happy with your life, what the hell do you need a million dollars for?"
What does the word satisfaction mean? It's a full character (滿).
that it is full. There is no more room to go in. For example, if the cup is full of water, you are satisfied. But if you drink a little water, it will create empty space. Then, it is dissatisfaction by using the character 不 (不滿). That is to say, it didn't work. So if you still need a million dollars, it means you have an unmet need. So that means it can't be a truly satisfying life.
In a village there was a mason who broke and polished stones. However, he was a mason who was always dissatisfied with his work and lamented. He complained to himself like this. "Some people like to sell, so they put mosquito nets on the Daecheongmaru and sleep with a single linen blanket. What am I?"
Then an angel came down and said, "Your wish will come true." Then the masons quickly became very rich. But at that time, the country's rulers wore elegant silk robes and were escorted by soldiers. The stonemason said, "I wish I could become such a powerful person!" I thought. Then another angel came down and said, "Your wish will come true." and he became a powerhouse at once.
Then he sweated in the scorching sun and wanted to be the sun, and that too came true. Then he saw the clouds sneaking in, and he was angry that the sunlight he had shot could not pass through the clouds and wanted to become a cloud, and he soon became a cloud. The clouds caught the sun and rained down the waterfalls.
However, because of the arrogant rock that did not move even in the waterfall, he lamented, "This rock dominates me! I want to become a rock!" Then he quickly became a rock. But the satisfaction was short-lived. A mason appeared and put a sharp chisel in his chest and struck it with a hammer. Then he screamed, "I'm going to be a mason!" He returned as a mason. After that, he said that he worked diligently and happily and was satisfied with his work.
There is such a story. Once upon a time there was a king who was very greedy, and he fell ill. His doctor said that the only cure was to wear the shirt of a man who always lived a satisfactory life day and night. So he sent envoys all over the country to find such a man and ordered him to bring such a shirt.
After months had passed, the envoys who had scoured the entire territory returned, and the king asked them. "Have you found someone you are happy with?" "Yes, I found one." "Then why didn't you bring his shirt?" Then the messengers answered: "He was living without a shirt." In other words, the king who had everything was not satisfied and fell ill, but as long as he had no shirt to wear, the poor man had a contented life.
Ladies and gentlemen, gratification deficiency is a serious illness that can lead to great sorrow and unhappiness. With this disease, happiness flees, gratitude and joy disappear, and peace disappears. If you get this disease, you will not be happy even if you immigrate to a better country to live in. How about checking if you also have acquired or congenital satiation deficiency?
We conclude today's sermon by introducing the last story. A farmer had a land the size of a full moon. The farmer loved the land terribly. Seeds were sown in spring and fertilized in summer. Weed continuously and fetch water in times of drought. In his spare time, he would drive the cows to graze and play willow flute. Sometimes I would lie down on the lawn and take a nap.
And when the bell rang in the church beyond the ashes, I did not forget to say a prayer of thanks without working. So when autumn came, we harvested. But one day, when surveyors appeared, the owner of the land began to change. When the road leading to the city right next door was opened, the land price
that soared.
Complaints from the owner, who had only been good, increased. Finally, the master threw the hoe and said to the ground: "I'm tired of farming, so I can't do it. I have to do business. I'll sell you to make a living." Thus, his land, which was the size of a full moon, remained as small as a half moon. And the owner never showed up.
The land was desolate. However, the heart of the land waiting for its owner did not change. One day, the owner suddenly appeared. But it wasn't as simple as it used to be. His stomach bulged out, and his glaring eyes filled with the light of greed. The farmer speaks to the land. "I'm going to sell you too. I'll buy a car and buy a new one."
The land is gone again. All that was left was a sloping hill the size of a crescent moon. Many years have passed. One day, a hearse came and stood at the bottom of a hill covered with pampas grass. From the hearse, the coffin was lowered. The coffin belonged to the owner whose land awaited. “After all, to come and go and wander around with such great greed…” Earth opened her heart and welcomed the body of her beloved master. And a single white cloud lingered long over the new tomb.
Ladies and gentlemen, today's Bible text says, "We brought nothing into the world, and we will take nothing out of it, so that if we have food and clothing, we will be content." You will find true happiness when you feel it.
