Title Do You Hear That Voice Today?
Contents
That voice is the gospel. In the beginning, in darkness, this voice that said, "Let there be light" is the gospel. This voice was there from the beginning. This voice is the word of God. It is the same as the evidence of “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1). It will come to me, and his origins are from ancient times, from the beginning” (Mic 5:2).
Therefore, he testified, “For this is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, the sheep of his hand; we want you to hear his voice today” (Psalm 95:7). When you hear the voice, stir up your wrath and do not harden your hearts as when you were tested in the wilderness” (Hebrews 3:7-8).
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth, and the earth was formless and empty, and darkness was over the deep, and the Spirit of God moved on the waters. He divided the darkness and called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day” (Genesis 1:1-5). is.
It is the same as the words of the evidence that is written, “The God who said, ‘Out of darkness shall shine light,’ has shone in our hearts the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:6). There was life, and the life was the light of men” (John 1:4).
Therefore, for some, God's work is just beginning, for others, it is in progress, and for others, he finishes everything and rests with him. This is God's good providence, which is accomplished for each person according to the limits of faith through the voice of God.
The work of God has a beginning, a progress, and an end through Christ. Therefore, the Bible says, “Brethren, I do not yet consider myself to have grasped, but one thing I do, forgetting what is behind, and grasping what is ahead, I press toward the goal for the reward of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let them think this way: If you think differently about something, God will also reveal this to you, but whatever we have reached, we will do it” (Philippians 3:13-16). Ultimately, the goal is God's eternal rest.
Therefore, "Jesus said to them, My Father is working until now, and I am working... rest” (Hebrews 4:10), testifying of God’s eternal rest with the gospel.
Therefore, the good voice of God, the light of the word “Let there be light,” is the “true light” from the beginning, and this light is Christ Jesus. It is written, “There was the true light, which came into the world, to give to every man” (John 1:9), and again, “Again I write a new commandment to you, which is true to him and to you, that the darkness will pass away. The true light has already shined” (1 John 2:8).
The source of this light is the glory of God. It is written, “God has mercy on us and blesses us, and let the light of his face shine upon us (Selah), that your way may be known on earth, and your salvation among all nations” (Psalm 67:1-2). It is like a word. The light of life in the Word in the beginning is shining on the hearts of people today.
The light in the face of Christ is the radiance of the knowledge of the glory of God. This is why the Bible testifies that "...God has shone into our hearts the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ" (2 Corinthians 4:6).
For this reason, the Bible says, “God, who in ancient times spoke to our fathers in various parts and in various ways through prophets, has spoken to us in these last days as a Son, who made him heir of all things, and through whom he created all the worlds. This is the splendor of God's glory, the image of his very being, upholding all things by the word of his power, performing the cleansing work of sin, and seated at the right hand of the Majesty on high” (Hebrews 1:1-3). ) as evidenced.
The source of light is glory. If there is no glory, there can be no light either. For this reason, the Lord Jesus, who is the true light, testified, "...(Thy kingdom and power and glory are forever, Amen)" (Matthew 6:13). For glory is the Father and brilliance is the Son.
Therefore, the words of “Let there be light” are the same as the words of evidence, “...you are my son, and today I have begotten you” (Psalm 2:7). For this reason, all who hear that voice today, “Let there be light,” appear as light with the Son. It is the same as the words of the evidence that it is written, “You were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light” (Ephesians 5:8).
For this reason, the Holy Spirit said to all who hear his voice today, "Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you" (Isaiah 60:1). All gifts come down from above and from the Father of lights, who does not change, nor does the shadow of turning change” (James 1:17). Amen. Do you hear that voice today? Thank you Lord.
