Bible Verse: Genesis 1:1
Title: Creator God
The verse we read together today seems very simple. “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” It takes less than 10 seconds to read these words aloud. And we received these words as teachings to us about the God who created the heavens and the earth, the Creator God. That's right. These words teach us about the Creator God who created the heavens and the earth. However, the level we feel in understanding the Word and the level the author of Genesis is trying to teach may be completely different.
Everyone! The phrase “in the beginning” refers to “the time when God began to create the world”. So we can understand and say we know the meaning of the word in the beginning, but no one in this world really knows the exact time of the beginning. When was the universe created? Countless scientists are interested in finding out the time when the universe was created, and they make their own assumptions and date them through hypotheses, but they are only hypotheses and conjectures. They do not know the exact beginning of the universe, “in the beginning.” .
The same goes for God who comes next. We can know God through the words of the Bible. It is about seeing and realizing who God is in the history of the Bible. God the Creator who created and governs this world, the God of judgment who judges sin, the omniscient and almighty God, the omnipresent God, Immanuel, the God with us, Ebenezer, the God who helps us, indeed. We come to know God revealed through the Word.
So, do we fully know God?
To be precise, we know God, but we only know what God has revealed to us.
Jesus used parables to teach about the kingdom of God. Through the parable of the sower, he taught the disciples the secret of the kingdom of God through various parables, such as the parable of the mustard seed and the leaven, the parable of the great man in heaven.
But is it all about the kingdom of God? It's not like that. It is only a part of the kingdom of God. Therefore, we do not know the kingdom of God completely, but only through the revealed part.
The same is true of God's attributes. Our knowledge of God is finite. We only know what God has taught us, but God beyond that is still shrouded in mystery.
Heaven is like that. Heaven and Earth are all the worlds created by God. Not only the world in which we breathe and live, but the whole universe. No one dares to measure how vast the universe is.
Today, the most distant star that can be observed by humans using the latest scientific equipment is said to be 20 billion light-years away. A distance of 20 billion light-years is a distance that light that can travel 300,000 km per second must travel for 20 billion years without stopping for a single moment, and that distance is only a part of the universe. unknown to Therefore, it is truly impossible for human beings as creatures to understand and measure the heaven and earth created by God.
Therefore, we come to realize that these words, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” cannot be analyzed and understood by human logic or science. What man needs in front of this word is to choose whether or not to believe the word as the revealed word of God and accept the authority of the word with full faith.
This choice determines a person's life and eternity. If you fully believe in the Creator God revealed in the words of Genesis 1:1, you will not be shaken by anything anyone in the world say, and you will go all-in in life that pursues a life that is completely obedient to His will on this earth according to your belief. You will lead a religious life while making appropriate compromises based on your own interests in the surrounding circumstances and reality.
What choices did you guys make? Do you really believe in the Creator God revealed in the words of Genesis 1:1? I bless you in the name of the Lord for that to happen.
Then, what kind of life will a person who truly believes in these words live?
First, you will live a fearless life. No matter where I am or what I am doing, I am not afraid of the current situation. This is because I believe personally, not intellectually, that the God who creates the heavens and the earth is with me today.
I am not afraid even if my enemies surround me and persecute me, insult me, and ignore me. Even if there is a boss at work who is personally insulting and ignoring in human relationships, he does not harbor resentment and is not afraid. In doing business, even when circumstances are difficult in various ways, we do not despair, fear, or become discouraged. why? Because the God who created the heavens and the earth in the beginning is with me wherever I am.
Second, those who believe that God created the heavens and the earth in the beginning will live by His words. It's not passive, it's active. Not reluctantly following it, but following the word with all your heart, devotion, and will. God created the heavens and the earth with His Word. With the flutter of heaven and earth, God created human beings in the image of God. He created me and you. And through the Word, God taught me and your life how to live, the true purpose and value of life.
That is why today, we read the Bible written thousands of years ago as the Word of God. And through the pulpit, which is the body of the Lord, the Word of God is proclaimed as the living Word.
Dear saints, When you hear the word of God, I hope you will remember it when the word of God is preached from the pulpit. When proclaimed as the Word of God, the Word has authority. Whose authority is it? It is God's authority. Who is destroying that authority? Those who do not accept the Word of God as the Word of God, but listen as it flows. It is a person who swallows when sweetened according to one's own taste and spit out when used.
How is it? When you hear the word of God, do you recognize its authority? I bless you in the name of the Lord for that to happen. I hope that you and I will be able to taste the grace and revival that God gives by accepting the word preached from the pulpit as the word of God and living by the word.
Those who believe in God, the third Creator, have a common interest. Even if we live in different places, in different circumstances, in different sexes, and in different ways of thinking, there is a common denominator that people who believe in God the Creator come to, and that is to glorify God.
I hope this purpose is clear to you. Blessed are those whose purpose is clear. Even if a person with a clear purpose receives blessings, those blessings do not obscure the glory of God.
But what if this purpose is lost? God's blessing is not a blessing. It will be an unhappy life. He may appear to be doing well on the outside, he may appear to be working hard, and he may appear to be faithful in the church, but in his heart he has no peace because he has already lost the purpose of his life to reveal the glory of God. There is no joy. Grace disappears from our religious life, and we are always overwhelmed by a sense of condemnation and guilt that others do not know.
