Do not be in vain Matthew 7:21-23
This time is titled "Things That Shouldn't Be in vain". How sad it would be if we said we were doing something good and it turned out to be in vain. It means that there could be such a thing as serving G like the Jews, but in vain, being cut off from G, and forever abandoned. Or, I thought there was my reward in heaven, but it may not be because of my fault. No matter how precious the grace of G is, it is of no use if we receive it in vain. But you have to know that there are so many of them. The proof is the word of the Lord in the text.
Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only those who do the will of my Father who is in heaven. Did not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?” Then I will say to them plainly, “I never knew you; depart from me, you who practice lawlessness.”
So, what should not be in vain?
1. Worship must not be in vain.
1) Worship without faith is worship in vain. Matthew 15:7-9 “You hypocrites, Isaiah well prophesied of you, saying, This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; they worship me in vain, teaching the commandments of men as doctrines. ” did. What a pity it would be if the worship that should be offered to G was given in vain.
2) Be a worshiper with faith - Look at Cain and Abel. He sacrificed to G, but G accepted only Abel's offering and did not accept Cain's offering. Because G didn't do what he told me to do. Also see north this/and south Judah. G did not accept sacrifices from/to the North. Because it was the sacrifice of a wrong heresy.
3) Be a worshiper in spirit and truth-. No matter how orthodox it is, if it is not a heartfelt sacrifice, G will not accept it. Isaiah 1:13 says, “Bring no more vain sacrifices; incense is an abomination to me, and as it is with new moons, sabbaths, and assembly gatherings, I cannot bear to do evil with holy assemblies.” It was because he had no heart and no sincerity. the Jews did So the Lord rebuked them by calling them hypocrites-.And he did not accept unprepared sacrifices. Our worship should be prepared worship. Be prepared with your mind, your body, your material, and your prayers. You must do it with all your heart, soul, and will. It must be worship in spirit and truth -. It is of no use if G does not accept it. - One -
2. We must not believe the Bible in vain.
1) You must know the Bible well. Not knowing the Bible and not knowing the meaning of G. In the Bible, we can find out the way of atonement, the way of salvation, the way we should walk, the way of blessing as well as the way of destruction, the way G forbids, and the sins that G hates. If you do not know the Bible, you will fall into the temptation of heresy and fall into the false belief of superstition.
2) You must receive the Bible by faith. 1 Corinthians 15:2 says, “If you hold fast to the word I have preached and have not believed in vain, then you will be saved by it.” It means that you should not doubt or disobey even while reading the Bible every day. The word is overflowing, but if there are few people who keep it, it is of no use.
No matter how precious the promises in the Bible are, they belong to those who believe and keep them. must believe and keep. In the parable of the sower, J spoke of four types of fields. We should not be on the roadside, rocky field, or thorny field that does not bear fruit even after hearing the word, but when we hear the word and become a fertile field that bears fruit with patience, we can bear fruit a hundredfold.
Please stand firm in the gospel. Believe in G as my Father and J as my Savior. Please stand firm in the merits of the precious blood. We must not fall into a sense of condemnation by accusing Satan. And believe that I died with X and rose again, and that we are exalted together. And I hope that the Lord will come as the Holy Spirit at this time as well, and we hope that you will eagerly wait for it, believing that He will fully come at His Second Coming. I believe that only the faith of such saints will never be in vain.
3) You must obey the Word of the Bible. It should not be limited to knowing and believing the Bible. Even the devil knows the Bible well and knows who J is. It was the devil who tested J with the Bible. However, since the devil does not change before the word, he is the devil. Like this, no matter how much I read and hear the Bible, which is the word of eternal life and blessings, if I do not accept the word and do not change, it is a vain faith.
That's why James 1:22-25 says, "Be ye doers of the way, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves - He who is looking into the perfect law of liberty is not the one who hears and forgets, but the one who does it. will be blessed.”
3. We must not let the cross of Christ be in vain.
1) The cross of X is the only way of atonement prepared by G. No other way. 1 Corinthians 1:17 “Not in the wisdom of words, so that the cross of X may not be in vain” The cross here symbolizes the truth of the atonement. Why did you sleep? Because it is impossible with human methods and wisdom. However, if you fail to convey the , and convey human wisdom, the cross of J will become useless. - 2 -
Among the sins, it is said that the sin of misrepresenting the word of G is the greatest. That is why James warned that those who became teachers should not become many teachers, knowing that they would receive greater judgment.
2) You must not preach other gospels. Galatians 1:7-9 says, “There is no other gospel, except that some are disturbing you and trying to change the gospel of X. But if we, or even an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel than the one we preached to you, Cursed be you.” We must remember those words deeply.
We must not preach another gospel. The doctrines of † a (cross plus alpha) are in vogue these days. It is a heresy doctrine that the merit of J's redemption is not enough to be saved. Some say that some people must be circumcised, some must keep the Sabbath, some must go to their church, and some say they must believe in their headmaster. All these things make the cross of X in vain.
Adventists say that they too are saved through the merits of J. Still, they say that they can't go to heaven if they believe in the merits of J. If you believe in J merit, why do you say that those who believe in J merit cannot be saved? because they do not keep the Sabbath. If so, they are heretics of the cross plus alpha that makes the cross of X in vain, which considers the Sabbath as the condition of salvation on the merits of J.
3) G's words must be believed and transmitted purely. It must not be a statement of philosophical, self-ideal, lifeless moral or ethical level. Be faithful to the literal, but not to overlook the deeper truth. We must not be bound to texts and not smell Jesus.
4. We must not let God's grace be in vain.
1) Do not miss the opportunity to receive grace -. We must receive the grace of G at this time today. The time given by G should not be wasted. Opportunities to receive grace are not always available. Even in Noah's flood judgment, all those who missed the opportunity were judged. Now is the age of grace. “Behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 6:1) In the parable of the rich man and Lazarus, J gives an alarm by telling the story of a foolish rich man who misses every opportunity and regrets later.
2) We must not let the grace we receive in vain. 2 Corinthians 6:1 says, “As co-workers with G, we urge you not to receive his grace in vain.” To not long for grace is to receive it in vain. Not being able to hold on to the grace you have received and not being able to bear it is also receiving it in vain. If we had handled the grace that G has given us so far, we would have become a much better X person. 1 Corinthians 15:10 “But it is by the grace of G that I am what I am, and his grace that was given to me was not in vain; I am more than all the apostles.”
toil, but not me, but by the grace of G with me.
