Title During the day
Content Title: During the days of living
Bible: 1 Samuel 7:12-14
If you look at the text, you can see how precious a person named Samuel is. While Samuel was alive, God gave him all kinds of blessings and grace. It is the story of seeing Samuel and blessing the country. That one person is important. Following the teachings of today's text, let's ponder what kind of grace there was during "the days of Samuel".
First: There was the grace of protection.
“Then the Philistines yielded and could no longer enter the territory of Israel; and the hand of the Lord stopped the Philistines as long as Samuel lived” (verse 13). . Samuel gives orders to all the people of Israel. Gather together in a place called Mizpah, ask the Lord to pray, fast, and “we have sinned against the Lord”, causing a great revival of faith. Those gathered at Mizpah fast and confess their sins to God. Taking advantage of that time, the Philistines armed themselves and attacked Israel. Now, when I was about to die, all I could do was pray. So they offer burnt offerings to God and cry out to God. I prayed earnestly, and God answered my prayer. It is the grace of protection that Samuel was at ease during the days of Samuel's life because God was blocking it.
Second: He gave the grace of restoration.
“The city that the Philistines had taken from Israel was restored to Israel from Ekron to Gath” (1a 14). There are times when I try to recover the most valuable and necessary thing when I say that it has been lost or stolen, but it is not possible by my own strength. In such a case, you must first restore your relationship with God. These things can be restored when your relationship with God is restored. If I have lost something important, my relationship with God may be wrong. Are you guys missing something? Do you have something to look for? Restore your relationship with God first. Then you will be able to find what was lost.
Third: He gave the grace of peace.
“Israel restored its four quarters from the hand of the Philistines, and there was peace between Israel and the Amorites” (14b). This people was once powerful enough to push the tribe of Dan into the mountains. However, it is the story of the reconciliation and peace between the tribes of Dan and the Amorites, which are part of Israel, during the days of Samuel's life. In this way, the enemy turned into a neighbor relationship. I don't know how much the area has become a good place to live. Calling war and confrontation is so painful. But peace is such a happy law.
