Title Elements of Evangelism (Mark 01:35-39)
Contents Today's sermon is about Jesus' missionary journey with his disciples.
1. Jesus prayed before going to evangelize.
Behind the power of Jesus was always prayer. Even before going out to evangelize, Jesus did not forget to have a new relationship with God. Even though He was the Son of God, He did not exclude the power of God, and He is the One who activated the heart line with the Heavenly Father, a direct line where you can talk at any time.
The Jesus found in the Gospel of Mark is the praying Jesus. ①Early life - Looking at verse 35 of the text, the way he prayed is recorded. He prayed at dawn. Early morning means that it is still before morning.未明/Before light .... This is the image of our early morning prayer meeting held by Jesus. ② Middle-age-6:46 When the five diseases incident was over, Jesus said goodbye to the crowd and went to the mountain to pray. ③ Closing 14:32-42 Prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane / It was a fervent prayer we had right before the crucifixion.
who prays at dawn
A person who dreams of the kingdom of God. Jesus spoke of the kingdom of heaven and is the one who bought the kingdom of heaven. Even today, those who build an altar of early morning prayer before God are those who dream of living in heaven and are living in heaven. He already possesses the blessing. Can a person who prays at dawn plan evil?
A person who prays at dawn is a person who loves the soul. Come in the early morning hours and listen to the prayers. They are soul-loving people and longing to see a good day. 'God's eyes are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry. The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them, and delivers them out of all their troubles.' God looks down on those who long for life and want to be blessed with a long life. (Psalm 34:12-17) The tears of those who come to the temple of the Lord in the early morning to pray are more precious and beautiful than pearls. Think of the Lord who praised the prayers of tax collectors who repented by beating their hearts more than the prayers of the righteous who have no need of repentance. Hear those beautiful prayers, especially of those who pretend to be accountants for the souls of others!
Abraham fell on his face and prayed after hearing the warnings of the angels that he was going to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. God, if there are 50 righteous people, will you not destroy the city? Rahab the prostitute ordered the spies who came to conquer Jericho that I should give you a good mark. In Rahab's house, a red string was hung by the window so that anyone could easily recognize it.
I pray today that there will always be a red line of prayer in your homes. I believe that the promised blessings will come greatly to all the saints who yearn for their souls and to see a good day.
2. Everyone sought the Lord.
who are they
These are the words Simon and those with him came to Jesus and told them. These people are followers of Jesus. They didn't come and go looking for the Lord. Just like a woman who has lost the drachma is looking for the coin, she has turned on her eyes and found it with passion. Jesus came to this earth to save the souls and bodies of all people. So we need to find him.
One incident in a psychiatric ward.
The doctor called the patient's name for treatment. But the patient did not respond. Reluctantly, the doctor approached the patient and said, 'Hey man, why aren't you answering?' He said that his name had changed. God changed his name to Napoleon last night, so now he wants to change his name to Napoleon. As soon as this patient finished speaking, another patient beside him jumped up and said, 'Man, when did I change your name to Napoleon? I never changed your name!'
When Jonathan Swift, author of Gulliver's Travels, attended a banquet one day, he was with his middle-aged wife. This lady was a celebrity of her time, and she thought it a great honor to be with a priest and asked questions over and over again. 'Sir, would it be a sin if I looked in the mirror every morning and was intoxicated with my own beauty?' Jonathan contemplated his wife's face and said, 'Oh no. Madam, can that be a sin? It's just the wife's own misunderstanding.'
Both those who think of themselves as Napoleon and those who think of themselves as God are all delusional. Like a middle-aged woman who thinks she's beautiful, maybe I'm trusting her! I'm doing great ! Who we are is none other than ourselves. This is all a religious illusion.
It's not that other people come to see me. We must find Jesus. As everyone seeks the Lord, so we must be among them. 'Lord! We want to see you.' This is the attitude that well-believers should have.
3. Let's go to the nearest town!
There is no other reason for wanting to go to a nearby town. to preach there. Jesus said, 'Let us go to other nearby villages. I will preach there too, for this I have come!' (verse 38)
Evangelism is what Jesus did by example. He said that he came into this world for this purpose. Evangelism is a responsibility entrusted to our members. Do you believe, 'You will be my witnesses to the ends of the earth!' The gospel of God must be preached to every nation, every nation, every tribe. The call to go and make disciples of all nations is the great and great will of our Lord to all of us.
The Lord's evangelism is an example for all who follow the Lord to follow. Introducing the kingdom of heaven is an important thing we Christians should do.
Dear saints, You saints, how many people have you led to heaven? He promised that the wise will shine like the light of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever. (Daniel 12: 3)
All the saints who have gathered here to worship God! You believe that you are His children who have God as one Father. I believe that Jesus is my Savior and that I am a justified believer. Christ's people belong to him. You are living under the guidance of the Spirit of Christ.
Let us listen to the quiet voice of our Lord this morning.
'Let's go to another nearby town. I will preach there as well, for this I have come.'
It is said that someone told the West Sea ferry accident. 'no. Excessive embarkation in today's weather is dangerous.' 'no. You don't turn your bow in these storms.' But people didn't listen. Then, if I had obeyed, I would not have been put in danger. About 10 EPB elites were killed in this accident. After completing the audit related to the circumstances, we went down together to cool off and got into an accident. But one of the planners said that his wife said, 'Honey, I'm not going fishing on Sunday. Today is a day to worship God.' It is said that he saved his life because he did not follow his earnest request.
must someone speak
To those who wander in the path of sin and death, we must say that here is a way to live. I now solemnly command you in the name of the Lord. Let's do our best to fully evangelize one hour a day a week. Evangelism is something anyone can do.
Let's use time to pray for evangelism!
Let's use our bodies to serve for evangelism!
Let's use materials in our dedication to evangelism!
Our Lord has come to do this. Then I myself have no reason to object to this. Let's all follow the Lord together.
