Title: Please tell me
Text: Ephesians 1:15~23) Apostle Paul, a great forefather of faith, is teaching us a new method of thanksgiving.
In Paul's letters, the words "I, Paul, a servant of Christ and an apostle of Jesus Christ" and "I thank you" always appear without exception. But Paul said he was grateful not because of something that was given to him, but because of one thing: the churches were strong and healthy.
Even in the letter to Ephesus, the words “blessed are you” in verse 3 contain both joy and thanksgiving. And in verse 16 he speaks of his joy that cannot stop giving thanks. All these joys and gratitude were due to the good and healthy Ephesus church. This is Paul's new method of thanksgiving. Why was it that the church was doing well could be a condition of thanksgiving to Paul?
It was because the church was itself and everything it was. Because the church was Paul's own life. Verses 22 and 23 say, "And he put all things under his feet, and gave him head over all things to the church. The church is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all." Says. When he met Jesus on the way to Damascus to subdue the church, Jesus said, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?" He said as if weeping.
Paul knew then.
The church he persecuted and persecuted so much was the body of the shed blood of the Lord. Since then, the Church has no choice but to become the object of love by giving her life. And the fact that churches are being built on this earth one by one is that the body of Jesus is being built up one by one everywhere.
When Jesus' body was established somewhere else on this earth, the blood of Jesus was soaked and washed by as many people as possible, and the amazing things that changed him, who were like a sinner, will continue to happen. This was Paul's view of the church, and that's why he devoted his whole life to this great and wonderful work.
In the church in Ephesus, to which Paul was thankful in joy, the practice of love was being shown in his life as concretely as he believed. Our church should also become such a church. So, as one of those visions, we planned Thanksgiving Day on November 22nd. On November 22, I hope that the faith we have on that day can be shown concretely before God and the saints through the work of evangelism. Verses 17 to 19 are the prayers of the apostle Paul.
Two prayer topics for the Ephesian church, “Spirit of wisdom and revelation,” to fill you with the knowledge of God and “open the eyes of your heart” // to show you why you chose me // and why you made me believe in Jesus. / / I prayed that I would know how abundant the inheritance of the kingdom of heaven is // and I prayed earnestly that I would know how great the power of God is //.
Jesus is said to be the One who fills the whole world.
But where is the place to meet and experience that Jesus? Yes, it is the church established on this earth as the body of Jesus. Since we have a church that becomes the body of Jesus who fills all things, we can have faith in the resurrection and can overcome any hardships in the power that fills all things.
Therefore, the church is a precious and precious treasure that must be protected and regarded as my life. Only when the church stands strong will we enjoy the fullness of Jesus who fills all things.
Dear saints,
I earnestly pray that it will be the greatest joy and thanksgiving in your life for this church to prosper and stand strong by fulfilling the mission that allowed people like me to build up the body of the Lord.
