Title: All Spiritual Blessings
Text: Ephesians 1:3-10
God tells us, “He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places” (verse 3). It was also called “all spiritual blessings,” not just spiritual blessings. God wants His children to enjoy all the blessings of God. So, what are spiritual blessings?
Spiritual blessings refer to the best blessings. It is a spiritual blessing. If you do not receive these spiritual blessings, no matter how many material blessings you receive, it will do more harm than good. Because material perishes. Even if you receive the blessing of health, it is more harmful because you have a healthy body and become more corrupt. However, those who have received spiritual blessings are entitled to both physical and material blessings. It is because when we receive the blessing of physical health, we worship the Lord and become more faithful in the Lord's church.
If you receive material blessings, you will receive greater blessings by knowing how to use that much material for the church where the Lord is pleased, and for the church that the Lord bought with His blood.
Therefore, the first blessing that believers should receive is a spiritual blessing.
Spiritual blessings are the blessings that saved believers will enjoy. Those who are saved and live in the thrill of salvation are those who enjoy spiritual blessings. He is a person who lives with sincere gratitude for the grace that “saved a sinner like me”.
A life that gives thanks to God just for being saved under any circumstance is a person who truly enjoys all spiritual blessings. As 3 John 1:2 says, he is a person who enjoys a life of "prosperity in all things and in good health as the soul prospers."
God wants His children, the saints, to live with God's spiritual blessings. I hope you will become saints who enjoy all the spiritual blessings of God.
If so, what are the specific spiritual blessings?
1. It was chosen by God (verse 4)
When were the saints chosen by God? before creation. And He predestined you, who deserve to be rejected, to be saved and to gain eternal life (verse 5). God did not choose Esau, but Jacob. You have been chosen from among many people in the world. Those who truly know this and live with gratitude are those who enjoy spiritual blessings.
God chose you before the creation of the world. You have led me on the path of salvation. And heaven has been ordained for you. I hope that you will live with sincere gratitude for choosing me among so many people and giving me grace to receive salvation.
2. To become sons (v. 5)
He was not made a child of the devil, but a child of God. As a child of God, he deserved the love of God the Father. He gave you the authority of your children. He allowed us to live under the protection and care of our Almighty Father. He made us live a life of receiving answers to prayer. He made us victorious in the battle against Satan. A person who knows and enjoys the blessing of the Son This person is a person who has received spiritual blessings.
3. Made holy and without blemish (v. 4)
God made the saved saints holy and without blemish. Why? This is so that you can be saved and enjoy God's blessings in your present life. How do saints become holy and without blemish?
Ephesians 1:13 Hearing the gospel of salvation and believing in it, you will be sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.
Because we believe that Christ forgave all our sins on the cross, He overlooked our previous sins (Romans 3:25), covered all our sins (Hebrews 10:17), and blotted out our sins (44:22). He grants salvation and sanctifies those who believe in this fact. Do you believe that Jesus forgave all sins on the cross? Then you are saved. In the eyes of God, it has become holy and without blemish. You made me righteous. He made them a citizen of heaven. In addition, He allowed us to enjoy God's spiritual blessings on this earth.
May you enjoy this spiritual blessing that made sinful sinners holy and without blemish through Christ, and live always thankful for that grace.
Then, what is the purpose of God giving you spiritual blessings?
To the praise of glory (verse 6). Since you have been saved free of charge, you should live a life that gives glory to God and gives thanks.
1 Corinthians 10:31 “Therefore, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
We thank the Lord for saving us in Christ and enjoying spiritual blessings.
