Title: Salvation by Grace
Text: Ephesians 2:1-10
When God created man, he made it in His image.
By making people with the knowledge to know God and the holiness to be with God, God was pleased to be with them, and He also wanted to receive glory through people.
However, because man sinned, he fell and became a being that could not be separated from God, leading to death.
However, God bestowed the wonderful grace of saving those who died in sin and making them children by sacrificing his only begotten Son.
Why did God give such grace to save sinners?
1. one who died in trespasses and sins
1) All people were dead before God because of their sins.
a. Transgression means the guilt obtained by violating God's law.
b. Sin means failing to meet the deadline.
c. To be dead means spiritual death, and apart from God, there is no life given by God.
2) He was a person who followed the devil and worldly customs.
a. People habitually act in their transgressions and sins, and all their deeds are sins.
b. Following the world's customs, that is, following those who commit the sins of this world.
c. They act as sons of disobedience, following the devil who has taken the power of the air.
3) By nature, he was a child of wrath.
a. It is to follow these things in the sins of the world.
b. Doing the desires of the body and mind, following the impulses of evil thoughts.
c. Thus, by nature, all people became children of wrath. This is truly evil in the sight of God, where men are utterly corrupt and cannot do good on their own.
2. Those who have been saved by grace
1) God, who is rich in mercy, saved us by grace because of his great love.
a. God is infinite in mercy and is inexhaustible.
b. God is infinite in love. His great love to save sinners even by sacrificing his only begotten Son is limitless.
c. God's love is manifested in the forgiveness of sins, and sinners are saved in Jesus Christ.
2) God raises the dead with Christ, raises them up, and sets them down in heaven.
a. God gave the grace of regeneration by raising the dead together with Christ in trespasses. (1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, through His abundant mercy, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. be born again to a living hope")
b. God raised Jesus Christ from the grave so that those who were regenerated could participate in the resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:20-22).
c. Because of the ascension of Jesus Christ, God will seat those who are saved in heaven together in Jesus Christ. All these graces teach the unity of Christ and the saints.
3 God bestows the grace of salvation to testify to the exceeding riches of His grace.
a. God has shown mercy to save sinners in Christ Jesus.
b. This is the evidence that God's grace is exceedingly abundant.
c. God commands the saints who have been saved to preach the exceeding riches of His grace.
Mark 5:19,20 "But he did not allow it, but said to him, "Go home and tell your relatives how great the Lord has done for you, and how he has pity on you." So he went and told the Decapolis how great Jesus had done to him. When it was preached, everyone marveled.”
3. Those who are saved who must do good
1) Believers have been saved through faith, the gift of God.
a. The saints were saved by grace through the blood shed on the cross.
b. Believers are saved through faith.
Galatians 3:26 "For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus."
c. The faith that saved us is not of man, but a gift of God.
2) We cannot boast of our faith because salvation is not achieved through human works and merits.
a. A man's deeds only harm himself, but do not benefit him.
b. Man cannot attain salvation by believing in God on his own.
c. I cannot boast that I have been saved by doing something because I have not been saved by any works or merits.
3) God made sinners into a new man.
a. The saints are new people created by God. Neither by himself nor by anyone else.
Isaiah 43:7 "Let everyone who is called by my name come, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made."
b. Saints are those who were created in Christ Jesus for good works.
c. The saints are those who were created to do good works that are pleasing to God, just as God had predestined from before the foundation of the world.
Conclusion) God not only regenerates those who were dead in trespasses and sins through the death of his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, on the cross, so that they become new people.
He resurrected them with Jesus Christ and gave them the grace to sit down with Jesus Christ in heaven.
It is truly a wonderful work of grace and exceedingly abundant mercy and mercy.
In order to make us believe in this fact, God gave us faith as a gift and said that salvation was not achieved through any works of his own, but only through God's grace. And thanks to that grace, He saved us to do good works and created a new person. He was saved in Jesus Christ just as he had planned before the foundation of the world, so we must thank God for his grace and preach it, glorify God by doing good works, and lead many sinners to God.
Since you were created for good works, I pray in the name of the Lord that you may live as God pleases and become blessed saints.
