Title Ephesians 02:10 For good works
Content Title: For good works
Text: Ephesians 2:10)
What the Apostle Paul is trying to say in today's text is that "we were created by God, and the purpose is that we may do good." So, what is good work?
For example, you can look at what Paul gave his life for after meeting Jesus. The Apostle Paul lived the rest of his life to help the church, which is the body of the Lord, stand strong and expand.
Then, what Paul did would be the very good thing God wants us to do today. Am I doing that today?
Is my religious life helping, even a little, in building a church that becomes the body of Jesus?
Are you helping the church to expand and become more beautiful because of me, even a little?
No one in the crowd can be free from, avoid, or turn away from this question. Because we are all called to do what God wants us to do.
See Matthew 5:11-12.
"Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad. Your reward is great in heaven."
When you say your reward is great, it means that your reward may be small, or your reward may not be at all.
Do you saints know this?
Jesus knew this too. That is why Paul testifies in Hebrews 12:2, “He did not regard the foundation of our faith nor the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” Because he is the son of God, it was natural that he was placed on the right hand. It means that you have been able to sit at the right hand of God because you have done something to sit on. It is that Jesus, without exception, endured the pain, shame, and insults of the cross while looking at the reward.
That's right. The second reason we should be diligent in doing good is because there is a reward. The apostle Paul declares in Hebrews 11:6:
"He who comes to God must believe that He (Living) exists and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."
Guys, how fortunate we are to have come to believe in Jesus in this way in advance.
Because there is an opportunity to receive a reward by doing what God wants. Because the more you work and work hard, the bigger the reward will be.
When we ascend to heaven, there is a land to be allocated to us.
The Bible speaks of the land as an inheritance, an inheritance. Look at 1 Corinthians 3:8. “The one who plants and the one who waters are common, but each will receive his own reward according to his work.” The more I work, the more my family grows, that is, the more I evangelize and the more my family grows, the more rewards I receive.
Our community needs to be revitalized.
Because if we do good, the natural result will be revival. Let's work so that the church, the body of Jesus, is built up strong. So let's make this church a heavenly place so that freedom, joy, and peace abound. We hope that anyone who comes to this church to meet Jesus and experience the kingdom of heaven will become our dream and vision.
