Younger, deeper, higher (Ephesians 3:14-19)
The people of God who have been saved are beings that even angels can admire. So, don't underestimate yourself. When I see myself through spiritual eyes, I am original, and I am the only unique being in the universe. I am the most precious being who has been saved and loved by God.
One of the most dreadful diseases the devil has given us is comparative consciousness. Humans are incomparable to anyone. In God's eyes, we are unique. Therefore, we must not constantly compare and devalue us.
Our church's motto this year is "Younger, Deeper, Higher".
Paul is offering a deep prayer to God in today's text. However, the content of that prayer was to “know the love of Christ and understand the breadth and length and height and depth”. He believed that when he came to know the love of Christ, he could live a younger, deeper, more noble life.
1. Younger
Everyone wants to live young. No one likes to grow old. I want to be younger, so I put on makeup, look beautiful, exercise, and eat good and nutritious food.
The Bible summed up the secret of our youth in one word. It is full of the Holy Spirit. 2 Corinthians 4:16 “Though our outward man perishes, but our inwardly is being renewed day by day” He makes those who live by the Holy Spirit in Christ live as youth in old age. Deuteronomy 34:7 says, 'Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died, and his eyes did not become dim, and his strength did not diminish.' Even if you are old, you are young. I pray that you will live a younger life with the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
2. Deeper
We need a deeper life. More deeply, it is to have a broad heart and deepen the roots of faith. A person with a broad mind is easygoing and has an abundance of heart. When a person's heart is narrowed, he lacks understanding and does not have abundant thoughts. The only way to become a person is through education. To live a more profound life, you must know the Word deeply.
There are many terms used these days. It means 'God knowledge'. The church also needs new knowledge. Learn well and teach well. It must be taught clearly and clearly. We must clearly understand the Word of God and testify clearly.
3. Higher
In the 21st century, expectations and anxiety exist on both sides. With the development of the information society, it will be an era of automation in which all home appliances are automatically controlled, and the human realm will move to the space generation and the world will be dominated by cyberspace. However, the 21st century is not a paradise, but an era in which human beings will be set back if they do not constantly challenge and cultivate. What is more needed in the 21st century is 'an era that requires patience and mental strength to accept new values and adapt them to life.' In the 21st century, the philosophy and ethics of the 21st century that can keep oneself upright need to be reestablished.
At this time, we Christians must instill in the world a noble style of life. Our society is so corrupt in every way that no one can throw stones at anyone. The index of conscience has collapsed. Even the church, which had been regarded as a stronghold of a clean conscience, is disappointing.
The saints of sanctification should go out into society more honestly, more justly, and more sincerely, and reflect their beautiful personality to the world. As much as the towering bell tower, we must realize a more spiritual, more humane, more personal life so that our actions and attitudes become truly Christlike.
This is our church's task this year.
Younger, filled with the Holy Spirit, deeper with biblical education, and higher with maturity in Christlike life. shalom
