3. Words that bring happiness
“Do not let any unclean words come out of your mouth, but speak good words as they are used for edification, so that they may give grace to those who hear them.”
Happiness is not obtained by having a lot of things, but only through a relationship of love. A love relationship is established through words. Therefore, it is not an exaggeration to say that happiness is determined by words.
However, most of our country is expressed in metaphors due to Confucian culture. The painting also has a taste that hides much of it due to the thick fog of the mountains. In particular, verbal expressions were regarded as vulgar.
As a result, it seems that there are many families and people living in their own way and according to their own thoughts because they do not know how to communicate well and how to express their emotions. Therefore, we see cases where we do not enjoy much of the happiness we should enjoy. Today, we would like to receive grace together by seeing the words that give happiness in the realm of words in the happy life that we should enjoy while living in the world.
The good word in today's text is the word 'Noam', which means 'pleasant, kind, beautiful, gracious words'.
"When sorrow is in a man's heart, it troubles him, but a good word makes it happy."
“Good words are like honeycombs, sweet to the heart and healing to the bones.”
“A man finds joy in the answer of his mouth.”
These good words are words that bring joy to others, kind words, beautiful words, and gracious words. These words are said to bring joy to others and healing to the bones. In other words, these good words are words that bring happiness to others.
Good words that make people happy,
1) Words that bring joy.
If you ask people what they are most happy with when they hear something, most say that it is when they hear praise or approval.
Among these words of joy, the first is praise and acknowledgment. What is praise and recognition?
“God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”
“He who mocks the poor despises his Maker,” he said.
"Truly I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these your brothers, you did it to you."
“With this we praise the Lord and Father, and with it we curse those who are made in the image of God.”
(1) Praise and acknowledgment glorify God.
After God created everything, He said that it was good. All things are good. To praise it is to boast and glorify the God who created it. In particular, when he created man, he said that it was very good, and he was delighted by using the word 'very much' rather than other creatures.
We should praise and acknowledge those who stand before us, thinking of the God who created us. It is to acknowledge the God who created the person, and to glorify that God.
This is what pleases God, and it is what makes him happy and makes him happy by making him realize the grace of God. To praise a person is to glorify the God who made him, and to ignore a person is to ignore the God who made him.
(2) Praise makes people.
Since praise makes us realize the grace that God has given us, the person who listens to it can realize the grace of God that he has received and bring about self-development. Through praise, you see the true side of yourself. take pride in yourself We live in gratitude for the talents and gifts God has given us. Realize the mission you have been given.
"The crucible for silver, the furnace for gold, and a man is tried by praise."
"A crucible for silver, a furnace for gold, and a man for praise"
The above scriptures say that a crucible is made of silver, a furnace is made of gold, and a person is made of praise. What kind of person do you mean?
The role of the furnace and the crucible to make pure gold and silver is commendable to man. In this way, praise makes people as precious as gold and silver. In other words, by removing the bad impurities in the person through praise and revealing the precious things in that person, he makes a valuable person.
A person needs praise to become a person. A person who lives with praise in his home lives by forming good relationships with people. People who don't get compliments don't have good relationships with people. Because they go begging for praise. If you do not receive praise in your family community, you seek praise from other communities.
(3) Who will you praise?
How about self-praise?
"Let others praise you, let strangers praise you, not with your mouth, not with your lips."
Let others praise you, but not with your own mouth. This is the Word of God that is still the truth even in the present age of self-PR (PR). Praise is to say something good. But to say that one is good is not praise, but pride. About pride, I said earlier. What is yours is to glorify God with thanksgiving. To say thank you for giving me this grace is to glorify God.
Praise is what makes others do it. It is about living a life that is praised by others. Then, when someone compliments you, you can receive it with gratitude.
Should I also compliment my husband and wife?
The virtuous woman's husband praised her: “There are many virtuous women, but you are superior to many women.”
(4) What should be praised?
Come in pairs and praise each other. Let's praise five things. So let's do ten more things.
Most likely you will find it difficult.
“Pastor, no matter how much you try to praise, there must be a place to praise.”

Seeing King Solomon praising a Shulammite woman like this, you probably think that the Shulammite woman is a very beautiful woman. But it is not. The Shulammite woman confesses that she is black. She said that her face was tan from shepherding the sheep in the sun. He had rough hands and skin while tending sheep. But Solomon had beautiful eyes to see her and blessed lips to express it.
Let's praise and live. how beautiful To praise a man as a masterpiece of God's creation is to glorify the God who created him.
How beautiful is the praise of those who praise the body, which is only a fraction of what we praise. Here we have one thing to point out. I don't want to criticize other people for their physical condition.
Everyone cares a lot about their appearance. However, when people come up with a nickname, they speak of a person's physical characteristics, but we should not open our mouths and talk negatively about other people by citing their weaknesses or singularities. Bare nose, spatula chin, ribs, bald head, jjanggu, mortar, mutt...
