Ephesians 5:15-18 / Hourglass
I went to the prayer center last week, and the person who used the herbal medicine with me fasted. The person next to me was fasting, but I couldn't eat alone, so I starved to keep my loyalty. It was 11:30 p.m. on the last day we promised God, and Master Kwon, who works in the restaurant, brought porridge to the room. But you brought only one spoon. I had no choice but to make concessions, but this yangban doesn't want to eat it, he constantly stirs the bowl of porridge with his hands and only smells it. (mimicking his hand) Huh - um, smells good x 2 And he keeps looking at his watch. So, I said politely. Oh, stop and eat because my father has seen everything, so stop and eat~ Then, ah, even if this friend's horse dies, I have to fill in the 12 o'clock.
Because I made such a promise to God, I had to endure until 12 noon.
Huh-um ha~ I looked at the clock once, huh-um ha~ I looked at the clock once and the time didn't really go by~ It's like that. Then, I was next to him saying 15 minutes left and 10 minutes left.
Time flies when you're waiting for something. When waiting for the screening time at the cinema, when office workers wait for work hours, when waiting for someone to enter the bathroom,
When I wait for it to end, it doesn't end, it gets longer. Don't wait at all, it will be over in due time.
In fact, time is going exactly (tick tock with tongue). But my heart is impatient and I want to go fast, so it just feels like I'm going late.
If you compare an analog clock (such as that wall clock or a wrist watch) with a digital clock that only shows time and an hourglass, which clock runs the fastest?
It's the same, but the feeling is that the hourglass will feel the fastest. If you look at the hourglass, you will see that time is running out. You can see with your own eyes that time goes by really fast.
Looking at today's words, save time! Save time! God is telling us today to save time. He tells us not to waste time in dissipation like one without wisdom, but to save time.
A person who has a purpose in life and a clear goal is not debauchery. They wrestle with the moment by moment, holding on to the passing of time. This is the case with students who are about to take the entrance exam, students who are about to take the entrance exam, employees who are about to take a promotion exam, and people who are thinking of a new job. If you live in a world without a goal, you have no choice but to dissipate.
It doesn't mean you have to dream big. There is a saying, "Today's me is the future me." If there is a dream, it is of the future, and if we do not prepare and work hard today, that dream is only an illusion.
However, if you hold on to the time given to you today and wrestle as much as possible, there will surely come a day when you will reap the fruits of your hard work.
What are our goals, folks? What are our dreams? What is the purpose of life? If my only goal is to eat well and live well in the world, my dream is still at the level of a child.
In verse 17, God tells us to understand what the will of the Lord is. Where do you think God's will for us lies? Consider the prayer the Lord taught us, "Our Father in heaven, sanctified be your name in me, and your kingdom come to this earth because of me..." It is our job today to spread out our country on this earth.
To accomplish this, we first need to live a life that imitates Christ. The Lord's life was only a life of service. The incarnate Lord washed the disciples' feet, ministered to the sick, and made friends with tax collectors and prostitutes.
He sought out and cared for the abandoned. He visited the people who betrayed him and left. He took up the cross to serve those who shouted that Jesus should be crucified.
When the way of serving is in our lives as the confession of the light pendulum, the Father's holy name will be revealed on this earth.
Verse 18 tells us to be filled with the Holy Spirit. A life that imitates Christ cannot happen without the filling of the Holy Spirit. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is a one-time event for believers, but the filling of the Holy Spirit must be lasting. A saint cannot become a saint without the filling of the Holy Spirit.
When you receive the filling of the Holy Spirit, your crooked personality is straightened, your wounded soul is restored, you gain courage in the midst of despair, even those who have never had a dream have dreams, and you are able to serve and love. Therefore, the filling of the Holy Spirit is the grace of God that believers should long for.
When we talk about being filled with the Holy Spirit, surprisingly, many people think that it should be loud and hot first. I think that it is praying hard to applaud and raise your voice so that your throat is rested. But that's just one aspect.
The essence of being filled with the Holy Spirit is self-denial. This means that you should be able to be free from desire. Even if they stay up all night to pray, if it is to satisfy their desires, they are nothing more than shouts for themselves.
How many Christians love this last verse, ?쏧 can do all things through him who strengthens me?? However, in real life, they cannot endure poverty, wretchedness, and hunger. If the Lord gives me power, I can live in abundance and fullness.
The Apostle Paul confesses that he has learned to be content in the midst of poverty, lowliness, and hunger. How can a person feel content without complaining in need and hunger?
How can a person feel contented in the lowliness and lowliness without resentment? It is impossible to do, but the Lord gives you the power to do it. God can do things that humans cannot do. Being able to deny oneself under any circumstance without becoming a slave to desire is the power of Christ and the image of a saint filled with the Holy Spirit.
The essence of being filled with the Holy Spirit is to take up the cross given to you. Many people live their lives contentedly with what the Lord carried on the cross. But the Lord told us that each of us has a cross, so we must carry it. (Mark 8:34) ?쏦e called the crowd and his disciples and said to them, ?쏧f any man will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.??The cross is not taken for oneself, but for others. It is for the wife to carry the cross for the husband and the husband for the wife.
In that case, the family that had lost laughter will restore laughter, and the relationship between enemies will be restored again. It is the resurrection of things that were lost through the cross.
If there is a person who puts down the cross, someone will suffer because of the cross that has been put down, and they will have to live in resentment and sighing. The Lord doesn't want that. No one can carry the cross without the filling of the Holy Spirit.
The essence of being filled with the Holy Spirit is to listen to reproof. In John 16:8, Jesus said that when the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, comes, He will convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment.
The word Comforter means Comforter. So many Christians want to be comforted by the Lord. God certainly comforts the downcast, the wounded, and the weak saints. But the important thing is that he not only comforts, but sometimes rebukes.
A person filled with the Holy Spirit is someone who goes beyond the level of comfort and can listen to the rebuke of the Holy Spirit. The rebuke of the Holy Spirit is to lead us rightly. It is to leave an honest footprint in our lives. This is so that those who love you do not deviate from the truth. It is to lead us to a life of witnessing to Christ. Do you sometimes get pricked in your conscience? Hear with the rebuke of the Holy Spirit, for the conscience of the children of God is the conscience restored by faith.
Now, God has told us today that the way to restore everything that is wrong is to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Today you will receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit and go out into the world to join the broken things, sew the torn wounds together, put together the divided things, sow hope where there is despair, where there is hate, spread love, and where there is death, resurrection. He told them to work hard until they bear the cross as people who preach the gospel, sow the seeds of the gospel in the barren land, and serve the world.
Save time for these things.
How can you save time? Can you turn the clock hand going backwards? Can I tie the hands of the watch? If that's the case, you'd be better off breaking it down. There is only one way to save time. It's about making the most of your time.
It is a good use of the time you go. To do that, I need a restructuring of my life. It's not just that companies are restructuring, it's that we need to change our lifestyle.
From now on, you should also reduce the amount of time you watch TV in the morning and evening. You should also control your sleeping time. Housewives should make meaningful use of their time at home during the day. If each person examines his or her day, there must be a time for rain.
Don't miss out on that time, read the Bible for self-development, read the Bible and pray to live a devoted life in order to be filled with the Holy Spirit and use it preciously.
Sometimes it is good to look into the hourglass to feel the preciousness of time. Take a look at the hourglass when you have time but don't use it, and you will realize the value of lost time.
Sometimes we hear older people saying, "I wish I was that young...". It's a voice of regret and regret for the days we've lived. Everyone, in the future, we might say the same thing.
Remember that the me of the past becomes the me of today and the me of the future. The fact that I am who I am today as much as I put in the effort in the past, and the fact that I become the me of the future as much as I put in my efforts today. So start a new life from now on
It's not too late. It is said that the earliest time is when you think it is too late. You can start studying, social life, and faith life from now on. The Lord will bless those who start. He will give you the flag of victory.
I look forward to saving time so that the devotion of the Lord's work will happen in our homes, workplaces, businesses and lives.
