Sermons for Preaching

Title [Ephesians 5:15-21]

Text: Ephesians 5:15-21

Title: Wise Saints

In the text, Paul urges us not to be fools, but to be wise saints. We need wisdom to live in the world, but we need to know that we need wisdom even more in living a spiritual life. Now, we want to learn how to live a wise life through the text and receive grace.

1. It is to observe the will of the Lord and do it.

Verse 15 says, “Pay careful attention to how you do it.” Verse 17 says, “Understand what the will of the Lord is.” When thinking about something in front of you, the standard of “how to do it” is “what is the will of the Lord”. The wise saints put the Lord's will before their own will, thoughts, or interests. If we are convinced that it is the Lord's will, we go ahead with it at any cost. As a result, the glory of God is always revealed. Many servants (saints) tend to accomplish their will under the guide of God's will, so be careful. Because you will surely be judged for taking your name in vain. However, in the text, it is said that in order to know the will of the Lord, we must be careful (15). The will of the Lord is not automatically known. First, you must empty your mind. Next, we must pray hard. You should also read and meditate on the Bible a lot and deeply. In addition, we must seek the help of spiritual leaders or seniors. Sometimes we discover the will of the Lord through patience and waiting. We hope that we will become wise saints who fully understand the will of the Lord and act according to His will.

2. Saving time.

Verse 16 says, “Save the time, for the days are evil.” There is nothing so foolish as wasting time. However, many young people waste their time. It's really sad to see people wasting their time without a goal. We must become saints who realize how quickly time goes by, cherish it, and use it with value and value. In Psalm 90, Moses said, “Our whole life is over in an instant” (9) and “We go quickly, and we fly away” (10). When you are young, you may not feel the speed of time. That doesn't mean the years don't pass. So what does saving time mean? In other words, buying a chance.

It means to find an opportunity in a given environment and not to miss it at any cost and sacrifice. Let's all become wise saints who do not miss an opportunity when it comes, or even find it and use it worthy of it. I urge you not to miss especially great opportunities to work for the Lord.

3. It is filled with the Holy Spirit (18-21).
