Title Ephesians 06:1-4 Be Such Parents

Content: Be such parents' (Ephesians 6:1-4)

I got a call from a classmate I knew before. He once made a lot of money and was envied by everyone. He lived his life without knowing that he was high in the sky. After that, his business went bankrupt and his family broke down and he fell to the bottom. I was socially ashamed, my life was hard, and my heart was torn, so there was no place for me to rest comfortably.

While they couldn't control themselves and stumbled, the children ended up going their own way, so it was no use pleading with tears. No matter how much he tried to be kind to his parents, his life in that way was bound to be a great pain for them.

If life had no other option than that, he would have ended in a truly pitiful life. He had to get out of the dreadful pit, and when he had no power, he finally turned to God from that deep pit.

The good God met him who was looking for God at the edge of a cliff. He confessed his mistakes to his children, was forgiven, and the relationship was restored. I have a new job and I am working hard. He used to be so proud, but now he wears a red jacket and smiles at the church parking lot early in the morning on Sundays and greets the church members with a smile. Regardless of the big or small, if it is God's work, he puts aside his work and serves.

We all want a good home and a happy life.

The Bible says that after the relationship between husband and wife, the relationship with the children should be smooth. If the relationship between parents and children is disturbed and the children's farming is ruined, our lives will be a failure no matter how much we have gained from other things. We are all parents and at the same time children.

As a child, we are saying that our relationship to our parents and our relationship to our children as a parent can lead to a happy life when these two are in harmony within us. Furthermore, it is teaching the principle of life that, as a child, I reap what I sow, that I must be filial to my parents so that children are filial to me. I cannot expect my children to be filial to me unless I am filial to my parents. Because you see it and do it your way. As a parent, when I first set an example of filial piety to my parents, the foundation for a relationship of respect and love with my children is laid.

Verse 4 says, “Fathers, do not provoke your children, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” Like the classmate who called me, when I tear my parents' hearts by being disloyal to my family and demanding that my children be good children of me, they become angry and rebel and go away. They feel disgust for the duality of their parents and lose their respect for them. That is why we must bring up our children in the discipline and admonition of the Lord, rather than conforming to my opinions and my ideals. This word means to train from the Lord's point of view and to nurture it with the word.

In Deuteronomy 6:1-9, Moses gives an orientation to the Israelites on how to teach their children in the life of the Canaanite immigrants who will now enter.

“You shall keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart, and you will teach them diligently to your children, and you will preach these words when you sit at home, when you walk on the road, when you lie down, and when you get up. You shall put it on your forehead as a mark, and write it on the doorpost of your house and on the outside door.

In immigrant life, Moses was concerned that he might leave God because he was obsessed with things that the people around him demanded from his eyes, material things, and unbelievers were good. He asked God to surround himself with the Word and live in the Word. to do.

We Koreans are very passionate about education. They immigrate and raise their children, but they are passionate about sending them to good schools to teach them worldly knowledge and create a background where they can get ahead of others in life. If they fall behind, they feel sad and resentful, and send them to private academies for private tutoring. However, we cannot be so zealous in nurturing the more precious human education, values education, education to live together, and the spirit and spirituality to become truly human. Because it is not immediately visible.

Even if they don't feel like spending thousands of dollars in materials and time to visit their children's Ivy League school, even if they don't attend retreats or meetings for spiritual training, they are often indifferent to their children's spiritual environment. However, the Bible says that education to know God should be given priority, education to teach the Word to know His will for life, and education to obey the Word first.

If you go to a famous school, get a good job, and run a business that makes money, happiness and success are not guaranteed. You have to learn how to live life right. Even if you go to a famous school or a good job, living without knowing the right goal, the right meaning and mission of life is only different from eating and living. Eating a little more and eating less has little to do with living a happy and successful life. It is really absurd to measure happiness based on the standards of those around you, based on how good a house you live in and how good a restaurant you eat.

One person I know went to Harvard because of her parents' skirts and graduated from Yale Law School to become a lawyer. My parents were envious of many as they seemed to succeed in their immigrant life. However, the parties were not happy at all. As a result, the relationship between parents and children has been stained with indescribable wounds. It was not until he was over 30 that his life became

They found that they were dancing like puppets with ropes in clothes that someone else had put on them. After much deliberation, he quit his job as a lawyer and became an elementary school teacher. I also go to a church nearby. His income was much lower than before, but he doesn't know how happy he is with his life now.

Instilling that value so that we can live our lives according to the standards of God's Word is ultimately the way to happiness for everyone and a valuable legacy we can leave to our children. This is because the Word of God not only provides a vision that connects eternity beyond the human situation, but also enables us to live a truly influential life more than anyone else. This is because, in any human situation, the power and secret to become a winner is contained in anyone who lives with the Word in their heart. Therefore, those who live by embracing the Word will rise alive like a phoenix in any desperate human situation.

Look at the disciples. All of them are equally ignorant people. They are people who are ignored by people at the dead end of life, and they are not confident enough to live a life where they want to escape somewhere. But when they met Jesus, their direction, purpose, and life changed. The Spirit of God came and brought them up with the Word as true people of Jesus.

Confidence in the Word and the life of love learned from Jesus boiled in their hearts and became people who lived through the environment of joy and death. That passion of life is still

Doesn't it come to us when we read the Bible?

would you?

There was one person who made an unforgettable impression on him in his life: Garth Hunter, who was his Sunday School teacher in 4th grade. During the week, he was a worker cutting down huge Redwood trees. He lost two fingers while cutting down a tree, and he couldn't even read because he didn't go to school. So, in Sunday School class, the 4th graders read the Sunday School textbook instead, and Hunter listened to it and led the group. Still, it impresses the little ones.

Pastor Warren recalls that impression like this.

"He really loved the Word and loved us like Jesus. I learned from him that if you are filled with God's love, you can overcome any obstacle. No matter how weak or lacking, if you have a heart that truly loves like Jesus, you can become a human being. I learned from him to have a beautiful influence that changes people." is confessing.

Being a good parent is the same as being a good child. When we set the example of good children to our parents, our children will also become good children to us. The way to be good parents is to live our lives by prioritizing the Lord's precepts and admonitions ourselves, and to teach that way to our children.

There is a secret to building a blessed life that will not be shaken in any life's storms and crises, stand strong, breathe the fragrance of the beautiful sky, and embrace the people around you in your heart.
