Title Exodus 03:1-5

Content 5. Shrub

Exodus 3:1-5

When Moses was 80 years old after keeping God's old promise and his people tried, he heard God's call to save the nation of Israel firsthand.

Moses' life is divided into 40 years.

First, 40 years is the time of the prince of the royal palace.

The second is the period of spiritual training for mission while shepherding sheep in Midian.

The third is the last 40 years, the period of leading the people of Israel as a leader in Jeshurun.

The text shows the scene where Moses lived a life of grace while tending sheep, and God appeared from a thorn bush and gave God a mission. Today, we want to receive grace while thinking of the miracle of God who appeared among the thorns.

1. Showing majesty to God.

I think that the burning flame shows the majesty of God.

There are instances in the Bible where the majesty of fire and its power are displayed.

The cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by fire (Genesis 19:1-9).

There was a furnace to punish Daniel (Daniel 3:23-30).

In the past, in the days of Noah, mankind was destroyed by the flood, but He said that there will be no judgment in the future. (2 Ben 3:12 Revelation 8:7)

Moses felt the majesty of this kind of God in the fire for a while. Therefore, I was forced to surrender to that majesty, and through this surrender, I was able to carry out the mission given by the Lord.

However, let us be faithful to our mission, remembering that God does not only love God and that there is also unjudgment as in the days of Lot.

2. He gave Moses a mission.

Moses said he had been training for spiritual growth for nearly 40 years, so he left Pharaoh's palace to pray, but God saw that it was not enough to save the people of Israel in Egypt. We can show that God and God exist, and at the same time we can know that He wants us to carry out our mission well even in the face of trials and difficulties.

Today, many people say that they are not loyal to their assigned mission because they know the duty of the mission but do not have the fiery Holy Spirit experience.

What we do know is that the Lord wants us to accomplish the mission that has been assigned to us, even in the face of fiery trials. That is why, unlike anything else, he was called out of the world of sin and given a precious position through the church.

Therefore, the one who knows rightly that the church I attend gave me the office because I need it because I need it rightly knows God.

3. It calls for Moses to repent.

(Hebrews 11:24-26) "Moses refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's princess, but preferred to suffer with God's people rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time, and to cherish the reproach he received for Christ's sake. They counted it as greater riches than all treasures, because they looked forward to their reward.” In this way, I thought that I had left the path of a sinner and lived a holy life for 40 years, but God said, "Take off your sandals from your feet."

We also went to church during that time, and whenever we went to church, we would have prayed for forgiveness if we made a mistake. But, as he told Moses here, he will ask you to repent. Therefore, saints, I must once again trace my past. Even though I may have overlooked it, the Lord is looking at us with flaming eyes, so he knows our situation all too well. Therefore, you must rediscover yourself, repent of your sins, receive new grace, work in the Lord, and spend a life faithful to your mission. The mission assigned to Moses Just as there was a mission assigned to "Jonah", I also have a mission, so I must complete the mission God requires. Therefore, reward and praise will follow afterwards.

4. It was meant to save the people of Israel.

For nearly 400 years after the descendants of Jacob, the chosen people, went down to Egypt, there were numerous adversities mentally, physically and mentally in a foreign land. We learn that the Lord trained Moses to exercise the commandment movement because it was regrettable that the descendants who lived with blessings could not live happily and suffer suffering.

Even today, the world is a sinful world, as in the days of "Noah" and as corrupt as in the days of "Lot". However, in order not to perish, we can see that churches are established everywhere and ministers who have been spiritually armed and trained are doing a rescue movement. .

This is love, grace, and blessing to the true God. On the other hand, some people are even going to church by this movement, just as the people of Israel did not remember the grace of their life in the wilderness and did not listen to Moses the leader well, and then they were destroyed. I am living a life of faith.

I beg you, saints, I am very concerned that the people of Israel will perish like these, if they do not escape from their den in sin, fail to obtain fertile welfare, and lead their religious life as easily as they did while walking on the road to salvation.

Now, the saints living today do not have a problem with the welfare of the world, but rather the kingdom of heaven they will enjoy all at once, so they should not fall into the world of sin. We must do well in our church life, listen to the leader's words, and do not deviate from the truth.

5. He showed God whether he was pregnant or not.

You will know that God is present everywhere. So Moses was able to get the courage to work hard. In other words, he became convinced that God would be with him in carrying out the mission given to him by God to lead the people.

This is the same conviction that the Lord, who appeared in the presence of the thorns, would not do the same with Moses, who gave the mission.

6. This is an event in which God showed his power.

It was the power of God that the wood did not burn even though the fire was blazing. Seeing this scene, Moses knew his power in the past, but now he felt the power of God anew.

Among the many believers today, there are those who have received grace and experienced things in the past, but now they are far from losing the history that they showed. Now, Moses must experience the power of God, which he has newly realized. After realizing the power of this God, Moses was greatly stimulated to carry out his mission and became loyal.

There is a problem here that is the cause of the believers' unfaithfulness, so we must experience the power of God. (Acts 2:3) "And they saw them cleft like tongues of fire, and it rested upon each one."

The early Christians experienced the Holy Spirit in God and worked greatly in that experience. If that history has something to do with us today, we have to. Therefore, we should all play a part in the Lord's mission in showing the display of God's power once again in this age.

7. It is proof that He loved the people of Israel.

Verse 2 says that the bush was on fire, but it was not burned. You can know that God loves and protects His people, but He does it to the end. The burning of this bush can be understood as a sign of the suffering of the people of Israel under the oppression of Egypt.

However, the fact that the bush did not burn is a sign that God loved and protected Israel so that they would not be destroyed even under such oppression.

Because of that love, he was trying to train Moses and lead the Israelites so that they would no longer face trials.

Saints, we just have to give thanks for being saved from our sins. But now the Lord must also make great efforts to deliver the people from their sins.

conclusion

The fire of the Holy Spirit that fell on the bush comes on all of us today, and just as Moses realized his mission, we must think about what God requires of me and bear fruit that is worthy of that will.
