God's way, my way (Exodus 2:11-25)
God is looking for people.
God is not looking for better methods, better facilities, better tools, but better people. Looking for someone who is ready. If people aren't ready, they don't work. God creates man before he does work.
Moses was chosen by God to be used. But there is a problem. This man is not ready to use a vessel. Smart, capable, learned a lot, can do a lot, and has a lot of money. It is perfect in the world, but 2% is not enough for God to use. You have to fill in that 2%. Let's look at Moses when 2% is not enough.
1. Moses in Egypt
After growing up and growing up, he went to see how his brothers lived (11). He was interested not only in his own well-being, but also in the lives of his neighbors and brothers. It is a good quality. good character
People need to be interested to be used.
There are people who are only interested in their own business. Such a person cannot be used by God. But some people keep getting interested in their neighbors. A difficult person catches the eye. There are people who catch the eye of young people. There are people with disabilities who keep coming in. To be interested means to have a heart to serve. God uses such a person.
Some people keep seeing church work. Who has to do that job, I feel like this. God uses those who care. Even if the church is difficult or difficult, there are people who have no interest in it. Such a person cannot be used.
As I watched with interest, my brothers lived like slaves. lived with unfair treatment. It hurt me so much. And on the one hand, there was anger. Then he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew. I didn't do anything wrong, but I would be right. He had no power and was ignored.
When Moses saw this, he could not stand it. So he looked left and right, and when no one was looking, he hit the person and killed him. and buried it with sand.
See how Moses dealt with the problem.
This man dealt with the matter with blood and flesh. He was not filled with the Holy Spirit, but his flesh and blood were filled with emotions. He was not filled with the Holy Spirit, but full of skepticism. Instead of doing things with God's power, he trusted only his own power and handled things.
In this way, God cannot write. Those who are superior to their own strength and spirit cannot do God's work. Such people do what they feel when they do church work. If you don't like it while you're working, you're going to be pissed. The more such a person does God's work, the more difficult it becomes. twisted make it more complicated. To do God's work, you must kill your own blood. You must be filled with the Holy Spirit. So it should be soft.
Cabbage must die five times to make delicious kimchi. It dies once when pulled from the ground. You die a second time when you cut into pieces with a knife. The third dies when salted. The fourth dies when mixed with spicy seasonings such as red pepper and garlic. Finally, when you enter the Kimjangdok, you are completely dead. After going through this process of dying five times, it becomes really delicious kimchi.
the same We too must thoroughly die for our emotions, blood, greed, and pride in order to become good workers that God uses to our heart's content.
Look at verses 13-14. Moses, who thought he had solved the problem by killing people in his own way, was interested the next day and went outside. Then this time the Hebrews were fighting. So he intervened in the problem and tried to solve it. He asked why he beat his compatriot to the person he thought was wrong. What the man said, but what did Moses do? According to verse 15, he fled by that road to Midian.
Purple. Moses thought he had done the job well in his own way, but the effect of that method did not last a full day. It is a limitation of human methods.
There are characteristics of this person.
It's not okay to be zealous as if you could do everything and then try to do it in a humane way. Then immediately give up and become discouraged. suddenly hides away doesn't appear Because even after failure, what remains in your heart in the end? There is human sadness in that heart. I feel sorry for people who do not know their sincerity. And he can't stand being hurt by his own self-esteem. So it will hide. This is the limit of human methods.
But those who use the method of faith do not do so even if they fail. Even if he fails, he does not dwell on his own emotions, but in the midst of it, he asks God's will and discovers and corrects his faults. And it continues to mature and develop.
2. Moses in Midian
So Moses flees to Midian. At that time he was 40 years old. I was old enough to work. But he did nothing and ran away. One day while hiding in the wilderness of Midian, through an incident, he meets a spouse and starts a family. This is the background
The priest of Midian had seven daughters (the daughters were rich), and these daughters fed the livestock. However, because they were women, they were always disadvantaged by male shepherds. I couldn't give the animals any water. Even on that day, male shepherds ignore and harass women because they are women, so it is the nature of Moses that he cannot tolerate injustice! So, after not seeing the pasture, the women help the animals to drink as much water as they want.
From a human point of view, Moses is a very good person. This kind of person is popular everywhere. someone everyone will love So, the priest of Midian also recognized at a glance that this man was okay and made him his son-in-law (20-21). There she gave birth to a son, whose name was Gershom. The pain of Moses is permeated in this name. It means that you are a guest in a foreign country. Even Moses could not have imagined that his fate as a prince of Egypt would change so much.
The Egyptian prince Moses flees to the wilderness, where he gets married, has children, and adjusts to living there. If the story had ended here, it would have ended just like that. But it wasn't. Moses too, forgetting his old life, was gradually adjusting to it, and the king who tried to kill Moses also died of old age, but God's work continued in the midst of it.
3. From Heaven (23-25)
God was waiting for His time. God waits for the right time and works. In today's text, two things must be satisfied when God is waiting.
1) The person God will use must be prepared. Wait until then. God's people are not created suddenly, but require time and process. Just as the longer the wine is left, the deeper the flavor, and just as the longer the wine is left, the deeper the flavor. waiting for it to ripen. Waiting for Moses to mature.
2) He waits for the chosen people to cry out.
Verse 23 says, He said how hard life must have been, he cried and sighed. it will be put on I was faced with a situation I couldn't stand any longer. So I pray to die.
A person must have pain for prayer to come. True prayer, earnest prayer, comes only when there is so much suffering that it is impossible to live. God is waiting until then. But it was said that that prayer had reached God.
Some prayers are prayers, but there are prayers that do not reach God. It's not that they couldn't ascend to the sky because they lacked the strength to pray, but that they didn't earn it that much. Your earnest prayers will be answered.
It is good if you answer it, or not.... Prayers like this are not answered. Today's message is clearly written. They cried out, and they heard him (Jeremiah 33:3). When you cry out, he answers.
3) What is God's answer to prayer?
?쏳emember that covenant...??When the Israelites cried out and prayed in their suffering, God remembered the covenant. Why did you remember the covenant? Because God had promised Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. God made a promise to Abraham. So, remember that promise.
Therefore, the covenant is very important when praying. Because a covenant is a promise made by God, if we appeal to the covenant, God will be stuck (?) Therefore, we should appeal to God based on the covenant. Then God can't stand still.
However, we can see that God has made a promise to us, but he does not just fulfill that promise, but when we earnestly pray to God, it comes true. The reason you have to pray earnestly to receive an answer is because you know how precious it is. Therefore, if we do not long for God's promises and do not pray, God's time schedule of answers will keep getting delayed.
In order to enjoy God's covenant for individuals, families, and churches, we must actively claim and pray to hasten the fulfillment of that covenant. Let us pray earnestly. Let our church's dream come true.
< Conclusion >
God loves to work His way. We must learn to work God's way. Sometimes, like Moses, we fail and do not hesitate. But through that process, we mature and become useful vessels. Let's all become people of God used by God.
< Prayer >
1. Let me throw away my blood and my way and become God's servants who follow God's way. 2. I pray earnestly that we cry out in prayer.
