Hymn: 539 (New Hymn 488) 'This Body's Hope Muenga'
Meditation: Let's confess the present state of our faith. Is it a perishable faith, or a faith like pure gold?
Confession of Faith: Apostles' Creed
Text: “… the certainty of your faith, more precious than gold that perishes, even though it is tried by fire, may be found to be praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 1:3-7)
George Muller is the father of an orphan who was very poor, but ran the orphanage only by prayer and faith without asking anyone for help. In his later years, he preached the gospel to more than 3 million people in 42 countries. George Mueller's faith is more precious than gold, and as time passes, it shines more and more. Let's take a look at the "faith more precious than gold" in today's text.
First, it is the faith to live with a living hope as a born-again person. 1 Peter 1:1 emphasizes that we are “scattered strangers.” In our faith in Jesus Christ, we have the rich and living hope of God. Therefore, it is important to live in Jesus Christ. Life is for everyone. However, if you become a born-again saint and live with a living hope, the Lord will give each person a glorious and honorable day as a gift in the future.
Second, it is the belief that we will inherit a glorious inheritance. There are some Christians who are campaigning for a small inheritance. This is because they have a view of life and economy that God feeds them, clothes them, and allows them to live. Heavenly Father is the One who foreknows our needs and has sanctified us by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, the Lord will give to everyone who believes he will inherit a glorious inheritance that will never perish and will never fade.
Third, it is faith in the salvation you have prepared. God's plan is not wrath and judgment. God sent Jesus Christ to this earth to save countless lives. Even believers who live by faith have trials, but they will all disappear when the time is right. God protects believers with his own power. And you will honor tomorrow more than today. I pray that you will become saints who are blessed with a faith that is more precious than pure gold.
Prayer: Make our faith as precious as gold. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
