One of the well-known fables is that each of the five fingers brags about themselves.
The first finger shows off.
“I’m the thumb, so it’s the best.”
The second finger brags about it.
“I am the most used when referring to something.”
The third finger groaned as she looked at the other fingers.
“But put them side by side and measure the height. I am the biggest of us.”
The fourth finger flaunted and said:
“Did you know that my fingers are used to pledge precious love like engagement and marriage?”
Each of the fingers gave their pride one by one, but I thought that the last remaining fifth finger would have nothing to show off.
But the last finger came out proudly and said in a loud voice:
“Hey, you guys are stupid without me!!”
Everything that exists in the world has its own meaning.
The same goes for members of your family.
Ex) Professor Young-hee Jang’s ‘A miracle to live, a miracle to live’ - “It’s okay!”
In the first half of Matthew 12, there is a scene in which the disciples argue with the Pharisees and Jesus over two cases: that the disciples ate the ears of wheat on the Sabbath and whether or not to heal the withered hand on the Sabbath.
Here, Jesus points out the errors of the Pharisees' formalism and the narrow-mindedness of the Sabbath.
And in the second half, we will tell the story of the family in today's text.
What is your family in general?
Father, mother, older brother, older sister, older brother...
In the dictionary meaning, ‘people who form a family based on a married couple’.
What do we feel about the word family?
It is unity.
No matter how difficult and difficult the world is, I find comfort and strength in my family.
There are two things that God has established in this world.
It is the church and the home.
The evil devil uses all sorts of methods to destroy churches and families.
That is why unity among church and family members is important.

Ex) Kwon's confession (I know you're having a hard time!)
This is a well-known story of the Indian saint Sun Dasing.
One day, when he crossed the Himalayas and went out to evangelize Nepal, he went with a friend.
On the way, however, he met a passerby who was shivering in the cold on the side of the road.
They too felt life threatening because of the severe cold and could not afford to help the passerby.
A friend who was with me asked me to just go, but Sun Daxing couldn't leave him alone. After arguing with his friend for a long time, he finally made his friend go first, and he picked up a passerby who was shivering in the cold.
How long would you have walked
After walking down the mountain road carrying a passer-by for a long time, wouldn't the friend who left first collapsed on the road and died?
The friend had died because of the severe cold, unable to maintain his body temperature.
But Daxing Sun was sweating because of the warmth of the person he had lifted up.
The two people's body temperature melted the freezing cold so that they could safely cross the mountain.
In Ecclesiastes 4:12, it says, “One will be defeated, but two can be overcome. A threefold cord is not easily broken.” This shows the importance of unity.
What is your family?
is to do it together.
Even if the business goes bankrupt, if we get sick, or if everyone points at us, our family is together.
That's family.
Such a carnal family is precious.
But in today's text, Jesus tells us that the physical family is important and precious, but the family in Jesus Christ is also very important.
Verses 47-49: “A man said to Jesus, “Look, your mother and your brothers are standing outside to talk to you.” And he answered the one who was talking, and said to him, “Who is my mother and my brothers?”
He stretched out his hand and pointed to the disciples, saying, “Look at my mother and my brothers.”
Jesus refers to his disciples as family.
Then, can only disciples become members of the kingdom of God?
It's not like that.
At the beginning of verse 50, “Whoever…”
The road is open to anyone.
But there is one condition.
Let's look at verse 50 again.
“Whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”
Luke 8:21 goes into more detail.
“Jesus answered and said, My mother and my brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.”
It is said that those who hear and practice God's will and words are family members.
What is God's will?
1 Thessalonians 4:3 “For this is the will of God, that you are sanctified, that is, that you abstain from sexual immorality.”
Holiness refers to separation from the world, and if there is no distinction between those who believe in Jesus and those who do not believe in Jesus, then there is a problem.
Everyone!
Even if we don’t say it in our lives, “Oh, that person is a believer in Jesus. Something different!” I desperately want all of us to have a beautiful image of life that even unbelievers who can hear these sounds can recognize.
The will of God is also revealed in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in everything, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
Rejoice, pray, and give thanks.
I know very well that it is essential to the life of faith.
He was not told to memorize and remember well, but to listen and put into action.
Only then will we become a complete family in Christ Jesus.
I will greet the people next to me once.
“You are Wansoga (a very precious family)!”
I pray in the name of the Lord that you will become a holy 'Wansoga' who lives according to God's will.
