Title First person and second person
Contents
“...as it is said that no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has conceived of all that God has prepared for those who love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9). Because wisdom does not know God, He delights in saving those who believe through the foolishness of evangelism (the word of truth).
The Lord Himself said before Pontius Pilate, “As you say, I am a king, for this I was born, and for this I came into the world, to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth hears my voice… .” (John 18:37) and gave good witness.
All who belong to the truth, the second ones, hear the voice of truth. The truth says, “The first man is of the earth, of the earth; the second man is from heaven” (1 Corinthians 15:47). Therefore, the second ones are those born from above. The word of truth is called a born-again person, and it is also called the inner person.
Therefore, there is a law that belongs to the first person, and there is a law that belongs to the second person. In contrast, the Word of Truth says that the law that belongs to the first person is “the law of sin and death,” and the law that belongs to the second person is “the law of the Spirit of life.”
But what about this? These two are together. As it is written, “Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples will be separated from within you, and one people will be stronger than the other, and the older will serve the younger” (Genesis 25:23). In the same womb, there are two peoples, the earthly people and the heavenly peoples. However, the God of truth, who divided the darkness and the light, separates these two peoples from the heart.
And he said, "...Is not Esau the brother of Jacob, says the LORD, but I have loved Jacob, and I have hated Esau, and have made his mountains desolate, and gave his inheritance to the wilderness of the wilderness" (Mal 1:2). -3) is declared. Against this, the new covenant testifies, “As it is written, I loved Jacob, but I hated Esau” (Romans 9:13).
It is only when darkness comes first that there is light; when disobedience comes first, there can be obedience; and when hate comes first, we can know the reality of love. Therefore, Luke testifies, "The God who said, "Out of darkness shall shine light, has shone into our hearts the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ" (2 Corinthians 4:6). Light only shines in the dark. The word “darkness” must come first before the word “light”.
Therefore, there is righteousness only when there is sin, and if there is a physical body, there is also a spiritual body. “The law of sin and death” rules over the servant of sin, and the “law of the Spirit of life” rules over the servant of righteousness.
In contrast, the Word of Truth calls “the law of sin and death” the “old commandment” and “the law of the Spirit of life” as the “new commandment”.
Therefore, the “old commandment” is the commandment given to the old man, the first man, and the “new commandment” is the commandment given to the new man, the second man.
Our Lord Jesus Himself spoke of the old commandment given to the old man, “You have heard that it was said to the old man, ‘You shall not murder, for whoever murders will be condemned’” (Matthew 5:21).
In the words of truth about Jesus Christ, “When the time was fulfilled, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, that he might redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the sonship” (Galatians 4:4). -5) As it is written, because he was a carnal man at first, the word of truth testifies, “While he was in the flesh, he offered up supplications and supplications with intense cries and tears to him who was able to save him from death, has been heard” (Hebrews 5:7).
When He was in the flesh, “He did not follow the law of commandments pertaining to the flesh, but according to the power of infinite life” (Hebrews 7:16). He was recognized as the Son of God with his power according to the power of It is the same as it is written, “He was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead according to the spirit of holiness, our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 1:4).
Therefore, Luke said, “He has also satisfied us to be ministers of the new covenant, not by question, but by the Spirit, for doubt kills, but the Spirit gives life” (2 Corinthians 3:6). The law of righteousness”, that is, “the law of death,” and the “law of the Spirit of life,” that is, the “law of life.”
Therefore, the eternal gospel is not the call to the first person, but the call to the second person. He exhorted, “I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor do perishables inherit incorruption” (1 Corinthians 15:50). The law” is revealed.
“Therefore, my brethren, you also were put to death to the law through the body of Christ, so that you may go to another, to him who was raised from the dead, that we might bear fruit for God. The sinful lusts were at work in our members, making us bear fruit for death, but now we are dead to the entanglement, and have escaped from the law; therefore we shall serve new things of the spirit, not with the old things of the ceremonies.” Romans 7:4-6) Amen, Lord! Thank you.
