Title For a new beginning (6) (Beware)
Contents
(1 Chronicles 28:9-10) “My son Solomon, (1) know (righteously) the God of your father, (3) serve him with a complete heart and with a glad will (2) serve him. (4) The LORD examines all hearts. He knows every thought (every thought and intention). (5) If you seek him, you will find him; if you forsake him, he will forsake you forever. (8) Be diligent in doing it.”
1. What is the first object of practical, not theoretical, service to you? :
1) Let's answer God by thinking honestly and coolly before God.
- What is the order of your service, not knowledge, but actually?
* Are you making God your priority in your life? How many?
* What are you doing for the church, which is the body of God? What is the condition of the church?
* Does everything you own belong to God as a creation of God? Who has priority?
* How much time do you give yourself to God? Who do you give priority to?
* What is the order of the objects you want to give your most precious thing?
* At the center of your prayers, what takes precedence?
* What is the order of the objects that make up your joy?
* What is the order of the actual objects that make me act?
* When income is given to you, where and in what proportion is it given first?
◈ Now, let's answer God while thinking about what is written above. What is the order of service?
Wealth ( ) Authority ( ) Honor ( ) Hobbies ( ) Objects ( ) Self ( ) Parents ( ) Children ( ) Spouse ( ) God ( )
2) God commands us to be the first object of our service.
(Genesis 22:2) “Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on a mountain as far as I will show you” (Genesis 22:2).
(Matthew 10:37) “He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and he who loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me, and he who does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.”
- God's purpose for us is to restore the shape of the first creation
* What is the purpose of man's creation and the focus of his life? : Glory to God
* The duty a person must have for that focus: holiness.
* The real reason Jesus came to this earth is also the restoration of the first creation.
* The purpose of God's guidance by giving us the Holy Spirit is also to restore the appearance of the first creation.
* God has given us gifts to act, and it is also for the restoration of the first creation.
* God's eternal promise is a promise given in man's recovery.
* God is the only object of service to us and the object of our highest priority.
* You must not bow your head or submit to any being other than God.
(Exodus 20:3-5) “You shall have no other gods before me; you shall not make for yourself a carved image, or make for yourself any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth below, or that is in the water under the earth. Do not bow down to them and do not serve them.”
3) Serving means adjusting oneself to the object of service.
- Aligning one's thoughts and way of life with the thoughts of those served.
* Whether it is coercive, forced, or voluntarily done.
* Giving up one's thoughts and adapting oneself to the thoughts of some object is service.
2. You (for God's sake) beware (all your words and actions).
Refrain (control, restrain): Be careful with your appearance and do not overdo it.
1) Align all your thoughts for yourself only with the Word of God. It is God's command.
- These words of David are a wish and a command for his children based on the previous words.
* There are three imperative forms of verbs in the text. : Serve. refrain from do it
* What would you do if you made a will to your children?
* Perhaps the order of the will is different from the order of service.
* In David's order of service, God was first and foremost.
* It was because David knew and believed God rightly.
“Know your father’s God (3) with a complete heart and with a glad will (2) serve him (4) The LORD searches hearts and knows every thought (every thought and intent). If you seek him, you will find him; if you forsake him, he will forsake you forever.”
* With fear and trembling, aim for God for yourself, and refrain from speaking and doing.
- Prioritize all purpose and direction of life to God and plan and execute everything.
* For that purpose, restrain and control your thoughts and joy for yourself, and achieve the joy of God.
(Romans 12:2) “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
* In order to form our image into the image of God, we must cut it out, cut it, and trim it.
* Give up what you give up, sacrifice what you sacrifice, and give up what you give up.
* Because we have a habit of rebelling against God.
* Consciously, unconsciously, it becomes a habit, abandoning God and living for one's own gain.
* Now God asks us to refrain from the purpose and duty of our true creation.
* Please choose whether to forsake or keep today's command of God.
* Only in God do we have the value of existence, the meaning of life, and the reason to exist.
* Existence has no meaning outside of the Word of God. : Just like an animal.
When you cut out, give up, and give up what you want to cut out of yourself, you become a partaker of the image of God.
“By this he has given us his precious and exceedingly great promise, that through this promise you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust” (2 Peter 1:4).
The purpose of baptism is to make a promise and oath to God, who is dead and who lives only in Christ.
